Unimpressed. First of all, if you are looking for classic style, look elsewhere. SS is a trendy, elitist, nouveau riche type of place. I went in looking for a simple charcoal suit and the salesperson looked at me like I was an alien (classic charcoal isn't trendy enough I guess). I have a 42" chest, 32" waist and I'm 6' tall, I like the slim short look and I can't find suits off the rack that fit properly. I normally wear a 40R. I tried on a 40R and it was way too large. The salesperson tried to get me into a 38R but I didn't go for it. SS must employ a lot of inaccurate vanity sizing. Lastly, on a side note, EVERY salesperson in there was wearing a suit that was too tight, too short, with pants hemmed short enough to show most of their ankles and socks. Trendy but not appealing. So I went full bespoke for my latest suit. It was expensive, it took some time to make the suit, but every detail was handpicked by me and it was 100% worth every penny. read more

I'll be honest, the reviews here almost had me avoid coming here to look at suits. I'm glad I did my research and didn't let Yelp deter me from going. If you do your research online, you'll quickly find that suit supply has amazing value for the quality you get. I looked over numerous websites, and made inquiries at a number of style forums. Consensus is fairly universal that the quality is amazing, as are the prices. The problem is that they're suits are more slim fitting. I'll get back to this later... I tried on suits at Nordstroms (Canali, etc.), and looked at Macy's (it didn't take long for me walk out). The fits were bad (relative to the individual, of course), and the prices were worse. The shoulders were heavily padded, and the fits were just horrible. If you don't know anything about suits, do yourself a favor and learn all you can before purchasing. I had seen decent quality fabrics at Nordstroms, and got a taste of the very poor quality suits at Macy's. Then I took a trip down to suit supply to see what all of the hype was about from my research. The location is good, and parking garages are all over - it's pretty simple to find parking. The sales associate that helped me, Hoa, was great. The SA at Nordstroms was pushy, not knowledgeable, and cared only about making a sale. Not only could the nordstroms SA not pick out any issue with any of the suits I tried on (there were plenty), he pushed me to make a bad purchase (I did not). Hoa was a breath of fresh air. I told him what I was looking for, and he picked out exactly what I wanted. When trying the jacket on, he knew exactly what to look for in how it should fit, and suggested going down a size. It fit like a glove. He also noted the alterations that needed to be made (and they were spot on). Wonderful customer service. The fabric quality is extremely impressive at this price point, and off the rack the suit fit great. The problem some may run in to is that these suits are slim compared to more traditional offerings. I don't wear slim fitted clothing, but I feel a suit should be fitted to one's body. It shouldn't be a big, boxy curtain around yourself (see damn near every ex football, basketball player, or politicians). I'm 6'2, and a bit over 200, and the suit fit fine, so you don't need to be skinny to wear a slim fitted suit, but I could see how if I had weighed a bit more, I wouldn't have fit either sizes. This would be the only thing I'd consider a con, and that's a stretch. Alterations took a week. I went to pick it up, and they had me try it on to confirm everything was right. I really don't understand the negative reviews. If you want a high quality suit, without the price tag, this is the place. Don't take my word for it, spend an hour looking around the internet. This place gets a lot of love for a reason. Now that I know my size with their suits, I'm going to order a couple online and get them altered locally. Their shoes are definitely not worth their price tag. If you're going to spend $300+ on a pair of shoes, go look at some Allen Edmonds. I would only buy a suit here. read more

It allows you to get high quality, European style suits without breaking the bank. I work with Victoria and have found her very knowledgeable and highly professional. She always gives me all the information I need to make the right decision on a purchase or alterations. At this point she's familiar with my wardrobe and the direction I'm taking it. Was a bit wary given all the bad reviews. I came here with my fiancée on a busy Saturday afternoon. There seemed to be a high customer to sales person ratio and everyone seemed to be really busy. One guy quickly noticed us, got us drinks, and said someone would be with us as soon as they could. About 10 minutes later we were helped by Jason. He was very thorough and honest in his recommendations of a good outdoor wedding suit. He probably spent close to an hour with us, patiently passing suits through the dressing room door, asking questions, taking measurements, and going over accessory options. Jason was upfront about the wait for alterations and was not at all pushy about getting more expensive options. Two weeks later, alterations were done on time. Jason highly recommended we make time for a fitting and meticulously checked the measurements around the arms, chest, shoulders, waist, butt, and legs. On one suit he wasn't satisfied and had the tailor take out the waist a few more centimeters. The fitting and adjustments in tailoring took about another 45 minutes. I'm no expert but it all seems to be well sewn and well made. It was a pleasant shopping experience for someone who knows nothing about menswear. Definitely expect a wait for the salesperson but it's well worth the time and effort they spend on you. read more

I recently needed a new suit, so after hearing a lot of positive things online I gave SuitSupply a try. The shopping experience was mostly positive and I was very happy with the quality of the suit that I ended up getting. As others have suggested I made sure to come into the store with a solid idea of what I was looking for. I knew what style I wanted, picked out suits that matched on SuitSupply's website and then went into the store to see how they looked. Unfortunately I do not live very close to this store so I had to come here in the middle of the day on Saturday. The store was very crowded and it felt like they did not have enough staff to handle all of the customers who were there. Sean, the salesperson that I ended up speaking to was very friendly and helpful and did a great job of dealing with multiple customers, but if you can shop at a less busy time you should definitely do so. The suit that I ended up getting (Havana in light grey) was very sharp looking and so far the quality appears to be quite good for the price. The in-store tailoring was very convenient, although I was fortunate that the suit fit me pretty well off the rack. SuitSupply isn't the cheapest place to get a suit, but you do seem to get a lot of value for your money. read more

I came to suit supply as a young professional looking to step up my work wear game. I was a bit uncomfortable suit shopping as I didn't know what my style was when it came to suiting. I worked with someone there named Max and have since bought about 7 suits and 3 sport coats and have what I consider to be a STUNNING wardrobe for the office that fits my personal style. Max applies no pressure and really took the time to not only educate me but help take my own input and tailor it into the perfect suit for me;) Since meeting him I will ONLY shop for suits at Suit Supply. Their quality beats anything else on the market that's a comparable price point tenfold. While Max may be the best salesman I've ever worked and I know it will be a sad day for me when he leaves; I'll only buy my suits from suit supply moving forward. I no longer even see the value in my Etro's, Brioni's, and the like. For the quality and price point of suit supply I can completely fill my wardrobe at a fraction of the cost and not worry about the lunging ketchup stain or after work happy hour. I'm a big fan of Suit Supply's product: it's the best-quality product in its price range, and it's the first place I suggest men go to buy a suit or sport coat. My personal experience with their customer service has been fantastic. Still, it seems from other reviewers here that their customer service is hit-or-miss. So here's what I'd suggest to maximize your experience at the DC store: 1) Browse their website before you go in so you have a preliminary idea of what you want and what they have. 2) Ask for Jason Konig, and consider calling ahead to make sure he's working. I've had good experience with their other staff but Jason is a real expert and he's super-friendly. He's not just trying to sell you something. Make sure to talk to him about Wisconsin and ask him to show you a double four-in-hand tie knot if that's not (yet) your thing. 3) Avoid going in during high traffic times, which are usually between 5-630pm on weekdays. 4) Don't be put off by the fashion-forwardness of the staff. It might be off-putting for someone who just wants a nice suit and has no desire to look like that. But they're very knowledgable. (See #2). If you're new to their product, here are my suggestions: 1) Suits and Sport Coats: probably the best fits off-the-rack, best fabrics, and best construction in their price category. They get dinged sometimes for being trendy, but the cuts and lapel-width of their suits would be at home in any era, as opposed to the narrow-lapeled JCrew suits. 2) Shirts: the only part of their line on which I have a mixed review. The highest quality shirts made with the Thomas Mason fabrics are spectacular but pricey ($150 or so), and my experience with their more basic shirts (starting at $79) is that they don't look so great after several washes. 3) Ties: solid for the price, particularly those in the $50 range. 4) Pocket Squares: I'm a huge fan, as the design and fabrics are beautiful. The price ($45/per) may be a bit steep for those entering pocket square land. Make this your fifth pocket square, not your first. In summary, I'm a big believer that shoes and suits/sportcoats are the clothing items that men should generally be willing to pay for quality. If you know the terrain a bit, this place is great for a guy looking for his first suit or someone wanting to go full Euro Dandy. read more

The general consensus is correct: Suit Supply is clearly understaffed and they often rush you in and out of the store in order to accommodate the next guest. But they do offer very reasonable quality-to-price suits. I have more complaints than compliments for Suitsupply, but ultimately it's about how well the suits are made, how they fit and how they are priced - happy to report my broad shoulders and awkward waist is actually a perfect fit for their size 40 jackets. When I say perfect, it looks practically tailored, so I've come back time and time again, getting through their lackluster service and picking up additional suits. As far as wish list goes, I wish they'd employ some sort of reservation system, so people who make reservations can get someone's undivided attention. Also their tailoring cost is a bit high, comparing to ones you find locally in DC and Maryland. Pro tip: if you live in Maryland, have them ship the suit to you for free, so you're not charged tax. Then have your local seamstress do your tailoring, instead of paying extra for their tailoring and drive back to Georgetown and deal with parking. read more

Being a 6'2 male, it's difficult to find a perfectly tailored suit without paying a ridiculous premium, or being fitted into a horrendously outdated/un-stylish suit. Got recommended by a few people to check this place out and couldn't have been happier. Absolute perfection. I am also really confused as to the reviews suggesting this place has poor customer service. Jason, (who helped me out today), was absolutely incredibly welcoming and helpful finding me the perfect suit to attend my cousins wedding. Overall, pricing was incredibly affordable in comparison to other shops who shall remain nameless, (rhymes with A Brew), and the quality was certainly on point! I first learned about Suitsupply in 2011 while perusing an online Wall Street Journal article pressing the case that the Amsterdam-based chain made comparable suits to Armani at a fraction of the price. And while that claim is squarely between bull and shit, Suitsupply certainly provides a look and feel that exudes modern European style in a land lush with ill-fitting, box-like suits. Perhaps the product here isn't appropriate for every office, but Suitsupply is certainly the best value for anyone trying to master the Friday business casual look. With respect to this particular outlet, systems management would be helpful. It appears that everyone is cross-trained which would be great if people were assigned roles for daily tasks. Given their every man for their own approach, it is customary to see no one greeting customers or helping them in the check out process. That being said, the associates have a keen eye for pairing suits properly and I'd suggest completing a look while you are in their store. Chances are high that it will be infinitely more eye-catching than what you would have produced on your own accord. Overall, Suitsupply successfully latches itself into the growing niche market of men looking to modernize their appearance without breaking the budget. If you are looking for a nice European suit in the $450-$700 range, Suitsupply is a great option. read more

Pretty much what other reviews have said, customer service is very clearly lacking here. Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt though so I gave it a shot. I was looking to buy 5 suits for my wedding, and was able to talk to someone right away which was nice. Unfortunately, the store was quite busy and it took about 20 minutes before he was even able to look up a product code for me. I was told that the suit I was looking for was out of stock, but that he would check with the warehouse to see if any more would be made. We exchanged contact info and he said he would follow up right away "before he forgot," and then let me know what he heard the following Monday. Apparently he did forget because I never heard anything that day or today (Monday). The whole experience was very uncomfortable and I felt like I was being rushed out of the store from the moment I walked in. You'd think that someone ready to spend thousands of dollars at your business might demand more than a few rushed minutes of their time, but you'd be wrong. I'd love to be able to comment on the quality of their clothing but I have no desire to ever go back to this location so I can only review their service, which was substandard. read more

When we first set out to get suits for the groom and best man, Suit Supply seemed like a great place. It was relatively cheap to get a suit ($500) and they do in-house tailoring. The first time we went, we decided on a suit color and size but they didn't have it in the store. We had to order it and wait a week for it to arrive in store. Then we had to get the shoulders tailored because the jacket was a little too wide, but we were told that is the one section of the suit that cannot be tailored. We then had to make an appointment with the custom suit specialist who was out of the office. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and he's still not in the office and there is no back-up. At that point, the window for getting a custom suit has passed (~6 weeks) so it is no longer an option. Thankfully, we were finally able to meet with someone else and they said that they would tailor the shoulders and it would take about a week. The end product is great, but there was a lot of unnecessary stress along the way. read more

Staff is always super helpful, and have a great eye for catching the little things that makes a suit fit. This is especially key if you're on the skinny or athletic side, where other suit brands tend to make you look like a prepubescent teen wearing a giant bag of fabric. All the staff that has helped me in the past had a critical eye for where things could be taken in, or where things would look better relaxed, and are honest with their advice trying to take into account what your future plans are (planning on hitting the gym to bulk up/ slim down, frequency of intended use i.e. heavy office wear weekly basis vs occasional casual outings) Although the suits are off the rack, there are customizations they can make in house, and base design is already designed to fit better (higher arm holes, slimmer sleeves) than any other brand I've tried short of made to measure or tailored suits. The Lazio and Havana in my closet, out of all my suits, have gotten the most compliments, and questions about where I got it from. This is completely anecdotal example to just how well designed the suits are, but something I have never experienced with any other brand. There have been a couple instances where I came out of the dressing room, and the suit caught the eye of women shopping with their SOs on the other side of the store. They then made a point of coming up to me to tell me how good that suit looks, and I assume trying to imagine getting their SOs into the same cut. I was just humiliated in this store. They advertise "Impeccable suiting since 2000. Don't fit in, find the perfect fit." Let me tell you, there are a lot of exceptions to that slogan. I specifically called to ask about sizes as I where a 48, sometimes a 50 because I have broad shoulders. They said they carried up to 50 short, regular and long. So I traveled to Georgetown to look at their suits. To my surprise and disappointment, when I asked how their store was laid out so I could find sizes because all I could find were several sizes except what I needed, the woman looked bewildered and said "I'll get "it" from the back". Now I'm sure I looked bewildered and asked "you only have one?" They apparently do have some sizes above 46.......but apparently they are much too large to be on display with the "normal" sizes. They are all in the back. After waiting for 15 minutes and seeing the woman who helped me checking out customers o realized I'm not the kind of customer they are seeking. So I left. Disappointed and a little angry. read more

Suitsupply provides mid tier suiting for an excellent price. Their cuts are modern, fitted and sharp. Jason Konig is one of the best sales/fitting professionals i have ever had the pleasure of working with. He put together two full outfits for me and suggested items i normally would not go for but am constantly complimented on. The alternations are quick and well done. I had a tear in one of my suit soon after purchase and even though they could not fix it, they were very helpful in pointing me to a local tailor and the exact fix i required. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice selection (from what I can tell), with custom tailoring as well. However, note that all suits are their "brand" and did not (in my experience) adhere to some of the more conventional sizing. My other half is tall, long, and narrowly shaped and is typically a 42L in the slim fit suits. While the width of their 38 jacket would have worked with some tailoring the sleeves were *several* inches too short. Our sales associate was very helpful and provided us with the card for their in-house suit shop for a custom measured suit. I write this review (as neither a positive or negative) but merely to give any potential shoppers some information. They had *very few* black suits and seemed taken aback that we weren't interested in something more "springlike". All of their male associates and their tailor wear a style of tailoring that I can only refer to as... "trendy" or perhaps "currently fashion forward" that I personally don't like. The suits are *extremely* fitted and the pants are all tailored to show accompanying socks. I have no idea if this is the style they typically sell or offer or if you request more traditional tailoring they will accommodate, but I'd personally feel uncomfortable buying a suit there since we seem to have a very different idea of how a suit should fit. Because for me, being able to see your socks leaves me with the impression that you borrowed those pants from someone else and they don't fit you. I have bought 7 suits from suit supply. I have told my friends to shop there for 7 years. Today, we're breaking up. I will never shop at your stores, and I will warn all my friends to think twice before purchasing your clothing. Today, for the first time, I was told I should not wear my wallet in my back pocket with suit supply suits. Why? Because these holes can happen. Because your made in China suits were not meant to handle the wear and tear caused by a man wearing his wallet in his back pocket--where it is most commonly kept. I was very condescendingly told by the Store GM that I should have known to carry my wallet in my jacket pocket; that because I should have known, there was nothing that the store could do. This was the first time in 7 years, I was told to keep my wallet in my jacket pocket by a suit supply employee. It seemed like he knew that this would happen, yet no sales associated ever told me otherwise. So, when I come in with the known defective product, I am told that I can buy new pants for $240. There's some customer service and loyalty for you. So, this is a long way of my saying, it's YOU and NOT ME, suit supply. This customer was right to be upset, because YOU didn't tell me that your pants could not handle a man's wallet in his back pocket. But you knew that, and you lied by omission. It was a great run. The Store: Well laid out with a good selection of casual and formal wear. Having the tailoring done in the middle of the store is a nice touch and works really well with the design. The service; Depends on who helps you. One associate we got was awesome and able to spot problems with suits and tell me how much it would be to fix them. The other just said everything I tried on "looked great" and was trying too hard to make a sale. I'd expect more consistency from the associates in a store specializing in suits. The products: They had some really nice casual clothes. It was well made, looked great and reasonably priced. Also the shoes were really reasonably priced and hit a sweet spot between fashionable and business ready. The suits: These are really hit or miss. They have some nice looking suits and some that make you wonder what the designer was drinking. Little things like functional cuffs make the suits look more expensive than they are but make alterations a pain for people with long or short arms. If you're looking for basic solid color suits you might be out of luck as they don't make the classic navy, charcoal, light grey in all their lines so your selection is more limited than it appears. I've heard great things about their made to measure suits so will try that this fall. Overall: If the suits fit you it is probably the best deal in DC. Since alterations aren't included in the price you can expect to add $50-200 to the sticker price depending on what needs to be done. Still for under $800 the quality of their suits is amazing. read more

As a returning customer, I cannot commend Lalique and David at SuitSupply enough for their accommodating business practices. I've purchased a total of 15 to 20 suits over the years and recently purchased 6 custom suits from the company. During my most recent purchase, I encountered an issue. I wanted to purchase the suit immediately, but the fabric was not in stock and I would have to wait three days for a response from the factory to find if the fabric would be replenished. After those three days, the factory informed Lalique the fabric would be back in stock in three weeks. After three weeks from that point, Lalique promptly issued the order for the suit. The suit arrived after four weeks but the trousers were the incorrect measurements. Lalique informed me that, unfortunately, the trousers could not be fixed or reordered due to lack of more fabric. At this point, I asked to speak with a manager to solve the issue. David, the Brand Manager for Suitsupply, promptly assisted me in finding a solution. David regularly contacted me via email to keep me updated on the situation. He immediately notified me that he contacted the factory about re-cutting the trousers. David also notified me that he spoke with his regional manager and the two decided they would graciously offer a full refund for the entire purchase, gift me the jacket since it works so well as a single piece, and allow me to keep the trousers and refit them. In this emergency case, the factory went above and beyond to find a supply of fabric to make the order correct. Lalique promptly scheduled an appointment with me for alterations. Again, I cannot compliment Lalique and David at Suitsupply enough for their effort to resolve the issue. Situations such as this do not commonly occur in the company and the two handled it with grace and efficiency. I am extremely pleased with their communication skills to keep me informed. I would like to give Lalique an extended compliment for her strong abilities with custom measured suits, customer service, and her incredible job with getting my previously purchased suits to fit perfectly. Super easy to shop and a large variety of menswear that would fit just about any style! I would strongly recommend the latter, which I have found to be a great value for the quality, fit, and options. I really like their products, and they have a nice staff, but I came in to try on suit sizes with one of their employees before I ordered, and the suit still was too big. After the new suit arrived, I went to try it on and get it tailored. When I came back for a fourth trip, the tailoring was wrong. I now wait for my fifth trip, and hope to get it this time, even though the event for which I bought it has passed. Love it here! I went with my brother to get a suit as a graduation present & absolutely fell in love. We were helped out by Cristopher Guevara, who was fantastic! He was very accommodating to our needs and went above and beyond in helping my brother find the perfect suit in the perfect size. He consistently informed my brother on everything he was doing & why he was looking for more sizes. Cristopher definitely helped my brother find a perfect suit without making him feel pressured or anything. If you go there, I highly recommend going to him. He even made me feel comfortable & welcome, even though I was only there as moral support for my brother. The only issue that I had with Suitsupply is that it got crowded really quickly & I had to keep moving around so that I wasn't in anyone's way. Though the general consensus on here is that the staff at Suit Supply are rude and mostly ignore customers, I can say that hasn't been my experience at all. I have been in the store just a handful of times, but each time I was promptly greeted and asked if there was anything I need help with. I went in again today to purchase a suit, and was once again greeted by the first couple of staff, and was helped by Hoa, who was awesome. I would echo what many previous happy reviewers have said about Suitsupply and say that I had a great buying experience. I came in looking to freshen up my look after having worn the boxier style suits my dad helped me buy and Suitsupply really gave great service. Jason was the sales guy and was the right mix of helpful without being pushy at all, and took the time to explain why one suit or another might be good for me. They really focus on getting the fit right, in a way that no other place I've been to had ever done. While the sales people aren't tailors themselves, they appear to have had training from people who are. When I went back yesterday to pick up my suit, they noticed imperfections in several areas and were adamant about fixing those. Initially it looked like I'd need to leave the suit there for a few more days while they worked on those, but then Ash the tailor said: wait just a few minutes. I'll fix these while you wait. He proceeded to make three or four different extra alterations in pursuit of the perfect fit, and the level of service, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction really impressed me. One tip to share: I went to Suitsupply during the workday when it wasn't too busy. I think this really improved the experience because the staff weren't overly busy and had the time to spend with me getting everything right. I would recommend going at off hours if possible. Now, the test will be if the suit I got -- which I really like -- holds up to the wear and tear of business travel. If it falls apart over the next two years, I'll be back here to update this review. But otherwise I'm planning to come back and get a second suit when they get their Spring inventory in. read more

The Suitsupply is a great shop. If you want to step your suit game up and not look exactly like the other people in your office, this is the place to shop. The staff were really helpful. They spent an hour with me trying on different cuts and colors. They gave me advice, but didn't push me to hard. I was also surprised they didn't try to upsell me to the $900 suits. Overall, I recommend shopping here. And be prepared to look good. read more

ASK FOR JORGE!!! I came in today to buy my second suit in a month from Suitsupply. The first time I visited, Jorge immediately offered his assistance to me. The quality and value here is excellent. Jorge is very nice and honest, which is exactly what I need. He is very knowledgeable of the different cuts and just had me try on a few. The Napoli ended up being the best fit but they did not have my size so Jorge ordered it online for me, free shipping. The second time I visited, Jorge was busy, and yes, I had an awkward experience. I was waiting to pick up my suit and just made awkward eye contact with a female associate. At the time, I wasn't sure if she was working there or not as we just kept dancing around each other, until I just finally got the guts to go up to her and ask if she works there. She clearly did not seem like she wanted to help me so I just told her I was going to wait for Jorge. The tailoring is excellent here. Again, Jorge is awesome and measured everything very well. My jacket and pants came out very nice and I was very happy. So when I walked in today to get a second suit, I just looked for Jorge and luckily found him right away just finishing up with another person. If he was busy, I would have waited for him. If he was out, I would have just come back another day. Bottom line: Excellent suits. Get an excellent experience by asking for Jorge. read more

Overview: I bought a Sienna suit the week of a wedding. It fit surprisingly well off the rack, and the tailors were able to make the necessary tweaks on a very short timeline. The quality is superb and everyone has complimented me on the cut and look of the suit. Good: High quality, especially on the pricier options, fast service, competitive pricing (here's the WSJ article that everyone cites http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052748703385404576258671135584478) Bad: the sales associates are not fully trained tailors. They were all very nice, but make mistakes. I *strongly* recommend asking for one the tailors (Saed helped me and made improvements I hadn't thought of). I'll probably buy another suit here again, but getting measured by the sales associate almost caused irreparable damage to my suit. read more

I went in on Friday to get my tux for my wedding. We were helped by Adam, who was incredibly knowledgable and helpful in picking out the right one. We were done in an hour and my alterations were ready by the next day. I could not recommend this store higher based on my experience. read more
