Back in the early 2000s, we were court ordered to get evaluated by Dr. Suitor. For a second meeting including mom and daughter, I drove from Los Angeles to Riverside in July for the appointment. My daughter was 5. I left work early. Traffic was horrific. When we arrived at the office, the shades were drawn and nobody answered to our knocking. I saw movement inside and thought I was early so we walked around in the sun and heat without water or food for an hour and a half. Finally after frantically knocking at the windows, Dr. Suitor came out. "Didn't you get our call?" He sent us away with some gift certificates for Cocos. read more

Dr Suiter (hoping he isn't in practice anymore) has ruined so many families in San Bernardino, I am not sure how he got to be so prominent. After 30 hours of testing and interviews he still didn't understand what was happening. Then thought he would be a King Solomon and have a ruling similar to cutting the baby in half. For years the Courts followed his recommendations like he had written the Divorcing Family Bible. It would be heresy to not follow Dr Suite. Later I had to go back to family court, the ruling he had made things worse, we were directed to the Court's attorney that was assigned to represent the kids. So they had their own attorney assigned by the court. A very good idea for the kids. In 15 mins and only 2 questions for me, (I was the last interviewed by him) he said he was done, he knew what needed to be done. I spent weeks at Dr. Suites and this attorney asked me 2 Qs and was done! I told him I was not happy and this was an important issue for me and my kids, for their future! He said, it wasn't hard to see I should be getting the kids, their mom was slick, but a case like ours was easy and doesn't take very long to figure out. Weeks with Dr. Suite and got some stupid order, 15 mins with an attorney and the problem got solved. I wind up with custody, but the damage from Dr. Suiter and the years of fighting has damaged my kids. The oldest is 38 now, didn't figure out life issues until he was 30. The others are still working on issues they should not have had to deal with. While it is not be fair to blame all the problems on Dr. Suiter, I can say he did not solve one problem for my kids - only made them worse. If you are in a custody battle, listen to this. The damage that fight will cause to the kids will shape the rest of their lives - and not in a good way! While I thought that would be the case, living it was & is terrible. Unfortunately for me and the kids the old saying, "It takes 2 to fight" is not always the case and did not apply for our family. For us it was "It takes two to get along!" Sadly, one of us did not want to get along and a professional like Dr Suiter should have been able to spot that. Maybe not in 15 minutes, but in 30 minutes, yeah. The attorney was Carroll Lawson in Redlands, unfortunately, Carrol died. He was a police detective that got his law degree to help kids and families. This evaluator was removed and his biased,unethical attempts at a 730 were vacated from the court. A blessing to have this person ordered to stop the trauma he inflicted for almost a year to our kids. Do not use this man for any services. He is under many Psych Board investigations for good reason. Exercise your rights as a consumer and file a complaint with the board immediately. Do not wait and let him finish a report and traumatize your kids and destroy your family. He engages in ex-parte communication with attorneys, he does not follow the scope of a 730, he does not equally interview patents involved,he writes letters to the court siding with you if you pay him extra money for his time, he blatantly lies in person and on paper,if he thinks you will not complete his 730, he will completely go after you. He made a mockery of my situation as myex concealing our children for 7 weeks, stated "Your case is not a priority, I might be unsympathetic,there is nothing I can do!"as he ate a cheeseburger and the grease oozed off his lips during my interview.He cancelled my appointments for 5 months. He will not mandatory report as he is obligated to if he is biased against you. He will not interview you amd give you time as he stated "Pay the rest of your bill first" He was removed rightfully so and let the court know and the board know of this man's continued biased and unethical practices. I had to use this doctor over 10 years ago during a 730 evaluation. This doctor - and I use that term loosely - did not read a single paper that he requested in my informational packet. He was ready to recommend split custody with an admitted child abuser, and it was only when I showed him a previous 730 evaluation with proof of abuse that he changed his tune and wrote the recommendation in my favor. While the evaluation went in my favor, I would never, ever recommend this man for anything-court ordered or otherwise. read more

Dr. Suiter is biased and medically neglectful. My son has special needs (listed as diagnoses on his medical records). I wanted to take him to therapy. My ex wouldn't agree to it, so I filed a request at court. Dr. Suiter was ordered to do another evaluation of our case (he had done one a few years prior and recommended that my ex have primary custody even though there was no legitimate reason to not recommend 50/50). He was biased once again, and said that our children are "thriving" (son does not even speak in school due to severe social anxiety) so the judge denied my request. I recently discovered that Dr. Suiter is currently undergoing investigation and his case is going to the Attorney General. Hopefully justice will FINALLY prevail! read more

I gave DR Suiter 300 pages of supporting evidence that my ex made false claims to obtain our children, that she had refused to communicate, and that I was concerned about drug use around the children. I requested a drug test to which I had already done myself and bought for my ex because of my concerns. All I needed from him was one sentence. YES I THINK A DRUG TEST IS VALID. Lets just say because I can't say anything about the report he wrote. ALL OF MY VALID, PROVABLE, AND WRITTEN IN DOCUMENTATION WAS IGNORED!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO DR SUITER. IF YOU TRULY CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF YOUR CHILDREN. UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT BELIEVE CHIP K. and sign all kinda privacy waivers. if it were up to me everyone would see what I have, what I have done, and what she did. IT IS MY VERY STRONG OPINION DR SUITER LOOKED AT WHAT THE PREVIOUS MEDIATOR WROTE AND TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT. read more

Reception did not return my calls for 3-4 weeks. I was apparently dealing with the office manager who was incredibly rude. She told me my referral expired. It expired two weeks after leaving multiple voicemails which is ridiculous. When i told her ive been struggling to get a hold of ANYONE AT ALL for 4 weeks i let her know if i get a new referral i just need to know itll be handled soon unlike last time. She then said "you dont need to tell me what i need to do you can find somewhere else" & she hungup and will not answer any calls coming from my number. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. VERY UNFAIR. "Dr. Robert L Suiter uses race as a factor in determining custody. Under the exact same circumstances, he awarded a white father full custody of a child while he gave a non-white father only part-time custody from the same mother who is suffering from mental illness. Dr. Suiter issued a 730 evaluation without examining medical records that clearly showed this mother was severely mentally ill. He should have waited until he had the facts. Im amazed at how this mental health "professional" operates. His receptionist is completely immature, spiteful, vindictive, in capable and unprofessional. If the ring she wears is real, i feel sorry for her husband. After I attempted to locate the office. There was no response to phone calls for the first two hours of buisness, despite me witnessing a women(what I later learned was the receptionist) wondering around the building. Two hours after opening for buisness my calls were answered and I was directed to the office. After being Informed that they had left me a message, to reschedule. (Less then 24 hours earlier) I asked very typical questions, regarding rescheduling and the ability to meet the courts requirements. The receptionist began to actually yell at me, as she begun a mental, emotional and physical break down. Stating "shs only one person and can only do so much" motioning toward the city scape of files pilled high like sky scrappers around her. I responded by motioning to her to relax and then asked why she was so upset? Was it something I said or how i said it? To which she responded(in a yell) "its not what your saying or how your saying it, its your body language, its very condescending"I was standing at the desk or sitting in a chair the whole time. Luckily as she continued to berate me, the Dr came out and called her back into his office. After she got her personal counseling session, she returned to the waiting room with out saying a word or even looking at me. The Dr proceeded to explain that shes been working for him for years and that he would be enabling and supporting the behaviors and actions of his employee. Im very fearful for anyone forced to see this Dr. , bc if they are mentally ill and received the greating I did upon my first visit to this office, there reaction could be unfavorable at best. The good Dr. has a nice fish tank. That is about the only positive thing I can say about him. He is simply a gun for hire. He was chosen by my ex as her expert witness after she lost custody following the originally ordered court 730 evaluation. Dr. Souter was rude, abrasive, and frankly verbally threatening. He did not conduct himself as either a professional or as impartial agent of the court. He showed little interest in what I had to say, and even less in what my children said. Collectively all 6 of them were spoken to in less than 2 hours. It is amazing the good doctor could go through 18 years of marriage and parenting so expediently. I actually overheard him telling my ex that he was sorry, but there was nothing he could do to get the 4 older kids back, but she would have the youngest two. I guess you get something when you pay his retainer. Too bad the kids don't get the voice they deserve. Avoid this man, if for no other reason than he is not impartial, or an advocate for children. read more

This office was a joke years ago and by the reviews I see it still is. The office staff was nothing but condescending and rude as was the Doctor. The staff openly mocked me because of their delays in paperwork and the doctor's unwillingness to listen to my daughter and or the facts that I presented to him resulted in long lasting devastation for my children for years. I there had to be a rating, I would choose zero. Dr. Suiter is corrupt and I was only assigned to him by the court. If you ever assigned by the courts for a 730 evaluation, ask to choose for one. In my case, he was very basis in his opinion and even lied. As you can see with many if other post on here, he is not a good evaluator. He doesn't take the time with you to understand the case and just ask what has occurred from beginning to end just like a resume. Evaluators are suppose to take the time and understand the situation to show what is in the best interest of the kids. In this case his recommendation holds not to be true and gave me the same custody order as what I came out with in court on my last hearing but worse. Less time, phones calls but and the kids in the hands of the abuser. Dr. Suiter is very basis and does not look out in the best interest of your kids. Do not use him. I refused to have a 730 evaluation while my ex-wife's boyfriend was in the same room. (My boss who she cheated on me with) and this POS Dr took my custody and gave it to her. After she left him with me for over six months. He ordered the court to give me one year of anger management classes and return after. Once completed my classes I returned to his office and I was still not allowed to see my son, unless it was supervised visits. It been six years since the last time I saw my son who live four miles away from me. Stay away from this Dr Google his name and you will see how much damage he does to families. read more

Very thorough, straight forward and by the book. Rest assured that Dr Suiter will do what is in the best interest for the child. He will look beyond angering, bickering couples and place the child exactly where he or she should be. Ignore most of the bad reviews. They are from disgruntled parents who obviously didn't have the 730 eval go their way. I encourage you to be straightforward and tell the truth. I wouldnt even give 1 star but I did it only because I had to. This man is a huge waste of time. He didnt take what I had to say or what I sent in for him to review into consideration. Just because he has a degree doesnt mean anything. He made false statements in our report. He wanted just yes and no answers and wouldnt let me say what I had to say. I tried to tell him how my ex husband is and how he brain washes our kids (and now my son that is 12 admitted his dad told him what to say)but I guess he seen past it now my kids paternal grandmother has reached out to me to see my kids because she wants nothing to do with her son after he choked his sister and went after her and he hasnt allowed her to see our kids in over a year. Now to make a long story short because of his great reccomendation I get dad gets more time with our kids What a great doctor right? my kids are the ones to suffer now. I paid for an evaluation by this man at the advice of my attorney. My ex wife had made false accusarions of DV against me, and I was on supervised visitation. Now, I have my son first, third, and fifth weekends of every month, holidays and every other week in summer. I think he followed protocall quite well, showed an unbiased attitude, and did what he thought was best for our child. Many women whine and complain about him because he doesn't just take their side like everyone else does in the divorce process. In my case, I paid for the evaluation. My ex accused him of trying to abuse our.son, so he cancelled the first session. After the second one, she still got primary custody, so as far as I'm concerned, he is professional and unbiased. He follows the law. I am, however, disappointed that he did not diagnose her with Borderline Personality Disorder. She has all the symptoms, and every therapist I talked to said she sounds like when has it. I didn't even know what it is until I talked to a therapist. If your plan is to go in, lie your face off, and point fingers, don't expect it to turn out well for you. If you're going to rant about your religion and how it makes you a good person, don't expect he won't see through your hypocrisy. The man ie extremely intelligent and pretty much nailed it in my case. I didn't come out shining like a gold star either, but he was right. If you're truly in the right, this man is your ally. If.you're just mud slinging, then your kid is better off either the other.parent anyway. read more

Dr. Suiter sees thru manipulation! If you're trying to alienate the other parent, he sees it. If you're using the children as weapons, he sees it. If you are brainwashing your children, he sees it. If you have coached your children at all in the past, he sees it. If you're trying to argue with documentation and facts, don't bother. He will look into any and all allegations you make. My ex said I was engaged to a child molester and even had pics of the car I previously owned, at the mans residence. Dr. Suiter actually called and asked for my side of the story. After hearing the FACTS, that info was thrown out. Just because you tell him something, does not mean he's going to automatically believe it. If you're truthful, and actually want what's best for your children, you have nothing to worry about. If you're manipulating, brainwashing and using your kids, you won't be happy with him.And as far as the reviews stating he can be "bought" or "bribed" that is not true at all!
