I love this place! Suitable Digs is an awesome little place with great accommodations. I really enjoyed the environment, easy access to Sante Fe. Its a quirky place, with solar power, a beautiful garden, with tons of great hiking right outside the door. Views are great, and Lisa was super sweet and really hospitable. If you want lodging that's not bland and is a little different, give this spot a try.

If you want to be stolen from and harassed in the middle of your wedding this is the place to be!…read moreExtremely disrespectful how the bar manager handled some things. In the middle of our wedding, he told my coordinator that if we did not move our Photo Booth that he was going to have to get his Volkswagen van out of the venue which to do so that would involve us having to move tables, chairs, decorations and my guests out of his way. He was being very rude about it because we set up our Photo Booth in front of his van and then he said we owed him $100 to use his van as a prop, because we told him there no way we could move his van without disturbing my entire wedding. We were never once told this and if this was an issue, he should've moved the van out of the venue prior to our wedding being set up and STARTED! It was very rude. And then well in the middle of my wedding, my guess were being told they needed to move their cars. My aunt and uncle are very disabled and they were told they had to go park down the road at big five because they were parked in someone's parking spot, but it clearly was a disabled parking. Right before me and my husbands first dance I was told that I needed to move my vehicle, apparently it was parked in "the owners spot" I have been parked there since the night before and hadn't been told anything. There was NO SIGN that said owners parking.. and to wait till literally the MIDDLE OF MY WEDDING to ask me to move it is crazy. All of this could have been told to me prior to the wedding, it didn't even start till 3pm in the afternoon. At any point prior, I could've been told to move my vehicle, but I am a guest at the hotel so I don't know what the problem is. And Tob could've moved his van anytime he wished, but he waited. The next morning @8am my husband and family woke up to clean venue and pack up decor. We then realized $400 of my decor was stolen. This has left me distraught. I have repeatedly ask to see there cameras, and no one will respond to me. I let them know that if my property could not be recovered will have to file a police report with Santa Fe police for my property being stolen. In response they were extremely passive aggressive and said I was "bold" for accusing them of taking my property and that they would be "thrilled" to help me find it if it was in there property. I'm attached photos of my stuff stolen. When we arrived then morning all the pampas grass was taken from my arches and vases with pampas in it. I sent hours putting this together and about $400 on this decor and for this to be take on a day that is supposed to be so special is just disgusting and unprofessional. Not to mention they catered the food it was gross and the beds are hard as a rock. I'm also not saying the venue itself stole my decor but the staff themselves.. just seeing how Todd the bar manager behaved shows me the establishment does not mind disrespecting people. The place is gorgeous, but not worth this headache. The pictures are of the property I haven't been able to recover. (ALL OF MY PAMPAS GRASS) and emails.

This place is a gem!…read more On a road trip from California to Denver, we decided to not take the same way back and go through New Mexico and Arizona. It was a last-minute decision so we were looking for a hotel that was pet friendly and reasonably priced. After reading the Reddit forums everyone said stay away from Albuquerque and any hotel that is near the freeway there. Well, shit, every single hotel is on the freeway. ...And that ladies and gentlemen is how we landed in Santa Fe. After reading the reviews in Santa Fe, we decided to stay at the Mystic because it sounded safe and breakfast was included. Also, the pet fee was fairly reasonable at $25 for the stay and $30 for a one time cleaning. Upon driving onto the property, you are met with paved gravel, ample parking, and rooms accessible only through the gate. What's cute about this motel (and most motels) is that you can drive up and park in front of your hotel room. This was no different. The standard room is tiny, but for 2 travelers met all of our needs. King size bed, bath and shower, mini fridge, and cable. The bed itself was comfy, but the pillows could really use a bit of an upgrade. It felt like a bunch of cotton balls, all in a pillowcase, and it was very difficult to sleep on. For the price of the hotel when we saw the continental breakfast, we were stunned! Bacon, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, and juice. Incredible! They have an event venue in the back, which I've read hosts live music. If you're looking for a quick, overnight stay that is reasonably priced, this would be it. The remodel that was done is super cute and matches the theme of the hotel name.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! BED BUGS! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!…read more FILTHY! I made every attempt to get a decent room and after going through three rooms that were all bad I finally settled for the best room available. It was impossible to get a room elsewhere and they refused to refund our money! We were forced to stay there. My mother is 85 and we are both handicapped. When I made reservations I asked for a handicapped room but was not given one. I asked for closest to elevator, again not done. No coffee, no coffee condiments or soap or towels. Customer service horrible. I called the front desk using the room phone but they were able to see it was from a room so wouldn't answer. I used my cell phone and called their phone number and they answered immediately. They were kind and accommodating until I said I wanted a refund and the state of the rooms was horrid. They became rude and indignant and didn't accommodate any further requests during our unfortunate stay there - because they already got our money and clearly didn't care. I said there are huge bed bugs! I'm covered in bites! I need the manager to come and do a report of this and find me a decent room. The reply, ' I heard you, bed bugs. What do you want me to do about it? You're not getting your money back. Get RAID Walmart is down the street!' This was the most horrible experience we've ever had. I have posted pics of the bugs on the bed in blood stains and some (not all) of the bites. Don't put yourself or your pet at risk there! They will cling to your baggage (we had to throw ours out) your animal and infest your car and home! The Health Department and the Public Regulation Commission should not be allowing these people to stay open. I will be filing complaints with pictures to these as well as the Better Business Bureau and any online places I can post warnings about. Santa Fe NM I a tourist town and there is no excuse for this lowlife mentality!

I'm always wary of staying in an older motel and this one has definitely seen its share of travelers over the years. Reading through the Yelp reviews though gave me comfort that my stay would be fine. I'm pleased to say my stay was absolutely pleasant and confirms what people have said. The location is convenient and the rooms are immaculate. It's definitely an old school motel though, reminiscent of the places you imagine staying in traveling the west by car in say, the 1950s. I checked in and received a real key to access my room. As I parked, I discovered a cool and unusual feature: an open garage adjacent to each room. While they may be a bit small for your truck, the space will accommodate a mid-size car or SUV just fine so you can get them into the shade and avoid heating up under the blazing New Mexican sun. My room had what appeared to be a brand new king mattress with refreshed bedding. The room also had a mini-fridge with a complimentary water bottle, coffee maker, a desk, decently large TV, and closet. The bathroom was a bit on the tiny side compared to modern standards yet it was perfectly serviceable with plenty of hot water for my shower. The only ding might be the window air conditioner which, while adequate and kept things comfortable, could not get the frigid temps I prefer. This place has to be the bargain of the century in the Santa Fe market. If you want a five-star experience you can spend mucho dinero and stay at a beautiful hotel such as La Fonda down on the Plaza. However, if you want a bug-free, inexpensive place to sleep, you can't beat King's Rest. Recommended.
