I put in an order for a gender reveal cake on March 11th for an April 3rd party. I talked to the owner about all of the details in person. The cake was set to be picked up at 8:00 am. At 7:30 am, day of the gender reveal, I get a call asking if I could come in later for the cake. My husband and father in law go to get the cake at 9:00 and it was done incorrectly. I had to drive down myself, just two hours before guests were arriving. The cake said "Baby Herbert" which is NOT our name. There was a reference picture sent and the details were not clearly communicated to the bakers at all by the owner. The bow on top of the cake should have been about three times the size it actually was. The baseball stitching were two different blues. The actual cake itself tasted like it was frozen and then thawed out, especially the frosting. On top of it all, when my husband went to pick the cake up, the bakers let him see the paper that said "GIRL" and he had no idea of the gender considering it was a GENDER REVEAL PARTY. We went through infertility and IVF for 3+ years and this place completely took a once in a lifetime moment away from my husband. I was also told I would be called and NO ONE reached out to me. Absolutely awful experience and I do not recommend anyone to go here. read more

Great bakery!! I'm visiting Southeast CT as my sister lives here. I'm always on the search for good bakeries and independent coffee chains. Sugarz Bakery in Danielson came up on my search, so I'd like to give a shout out and hope you can stop by. I took many items to go as we're having some family from in out of town. I got mostly baked items: croissants, muffins and danish. I didn't buy any of the pastries as it's hard to share for breakfast and I was looking for breakfast treats. Seriously love this bakery! Staff are always so friendly and give you the time you need to pick something delicious out! I've been coming here since I moved to CT in 2021 and whenever I'm in the area I know I have to stop by! I've also been lucky in recent months to run into them at several local events. Very happy to see that the bakery has expanded over the years, taking over the leasing space next to them. There's now a nice seating area inside the bakery so you can enjoy your baked goods there. I recently had the opportunity to try out the lunch offerings here and I can confidently say they don't disappoint! Pricing was great for a sandwich, chips, and two fresh baked cookies, about $11. Will definitely be back for lunch again soon! read more

I bought 4 items. All of them were crammed into the same plastic container. The two lemon tarts are wonderful!! The black&white cookie is very cakey. The slice of red velvet cake is quite dry. I imagine it's been in the case for a couple of days. read more

This bakery is amazing! They have the most incredible dessert, cakes, cookies and grab and go items! They also offer coffee, teas and breakfast sandwiches that are absolutely delicious! They do specially orders and custom cakes along with wedding cakes. My favorites are woopie pies, bizmark, cannoli, and blueberry muffins just to name a few. They are easy to find and have plenty of parking. They also have a very comfortable dining area with plenty of seating. Highly recommend! read more

I'm sorry, but we were't super happy with our cake. I asked for it to be decorated for a relative's 59th anniversary and it was very plain. Just white with a fabric flower. The cost was 40.00 for the smallest size round layer cake. They didn't have the right size box for it so I had to drive 2 hours with the cover open as the box was too small to close all the way. I covered the open box with foil myself. On the plus side, the recipients did enjoy it and said it was tasty. read more

Ordered my wife a custom cake for her birthday and it was a huge hit with everyone. I asked for their take on strawberry shortcake and they nailed it. Everyone absolutely loved it. They were really great at personalizing the design I asked for as well. I gave them a specific image of a dog as my wife is a dog walker and the cake was more than I even pictured when I asked for it. So excited to see a new bakery in the area! Stopped in to check it out they have wonderful service, very clean and a huge selection of treats. I couldn't help myself and got a PB bat, PB Cup Cupcake, a giant cookie and a salted caramel molten lava cake. 10 out of 10 would recommend definitely my new favorite stop. Also I was able to try their chicken Parmesan stuffed bread, a salad with homemade dill sauce, and their spinach feta tomato quiche. Needless to say everything I had was out of this world. read more

The cake was not ready at the scheduled pick up time, but it was WORTH. THE. WAIT! Absolutely DELICIOUS! My guests, and picky birthday boy loved it. The vanilla cake was moist, the lemon curd filling was the perfect balance of sweet and tart and the buttercream was not grainy at all. Everyone at the bakery is super nice and I have enjoyed other baked goods from this shop previously.
