Arguably the best ice cream selection on the island and generous with the scoops. Blue Bell is the ice cream served.

Used to be great, but there new location leaves much to be desired. Candy is old/stale. Not great service.

We grabbed some candy, italian ice, and frozen yogurt. The woman at the counter couldn't have been friendlier.

Their response to this perfect setup is to be open for about 15 hours a week. Weekends, when people are in motion coming and going? Nope - closed. Evenings? Closed. Their most recent timetable was something like Tuesday through Friday, 10-2:30. Truthfully, though, it doesn't really matter -- they'll just close early if they feel like it. It's not at all unusual to see a sign that says "Closing at 1:30 today", so I don't recommend aiming for "last call." They have such a wonderful asset -- a nostalgic ice cream counter -- and are tragically disrespecting it. This used to be an adorable lunch spot and ice cream parlor, and the business is now a shell of what it once was. Rather than redo their menu board, though, they have simply covered up all of the grill items they used to serve with painter's tape -- an almost ironic echo to a time before complete apathy set in. It's sad. I mean, nowhere near as sad as the faces of little kids who had the unbelievable audacity to expect that they could get ice cream on a Saturday, but still pretty sad.

Sweeteeth Chocolate makess high-quality chocolates and bon bons with unique flavor pairings. All of their products are made by hand and do not contain any preservatives. Sweeteeth was started by John Eric Battles, an Alabama native who previously worked at EVO Pizzeria here in Charleston. While working at EVO, "Johnny" created these treats that quickly spread through Charleston and can now be found all around the country. Their best bar is the Sea is for Caramel: 62% dark chocolate, smooth caramel, and sprinkled with sea salt. It's incredible to say the least. Don't even look at the price tag -- it's worth every hard-earned penny. I also really like the Cinnapsis: milk chocolate with chewy cinnamon apple bits and crunchy, candied pecans. Each bite of this bar is different, depending on how much apple or candied nut is in your bite. The PB&C bar (peanut butter with smoky chipotle pepper) is different. The peanut butter tastes very natural but the smokiness throws you off. Get your paws on a Sea is for Caramel bar. Immediately.

It was love at first taste, thanks to the Indie Craft Experience in Atlanta. I left that day with a salted caramel dark chocolate bar in hand, but knew that I needed more. Santa to the rescue! He brought me the chocolate sampler pack, a bunch of salted caramel dark chocolate bars, and salted caramel sauces. I mean, I have been OD'ing on chocolate and caramel for months now. But I've been good this year, and I've been sharing my chocolate with co-workers. Everyone loves this stuff-- it's like crack drips out of the salted caramel bar or something. I don't know what it is, but it's magical. Do yourself or someone else a favor and order some Sweeteeth. Or at least go to their website and admire the pictures of their chocolate bars.
