Pretty good little ice cream shop. It wasn't hand-spun or anything crazy like that, but the flavor selection was acceptable, and I enjoyed the oatmeal cream pie ice cream. The lady working was nice to my little sister and gave her a couple samples. The best part is the view- sitting outside and enjoying the scenic view over the marsh. I'd recommend putting a trash can outside so people stop throwing trash in the sink. Otherwise, no complaints. read more

This place has every candy you can think of! You walk in, and it's like a flashback to candy stores a s a kid.You fill the bag and pay per pound so you can mix and match. They also offer Bluebell ice cream you can get in bowl or cone. The one I had ( peppermint) had a bit of a freezer burn taste, but husband had chocolate peanut butter, and it was good! The other half of the store has beach accessories and gift shop type items The employee that waited on us seemed very annoyed that we were there. When we were ready to order, we stood at the ice cream counter. The employee came over and stood there but did not say a word to us. I was finally able to check out this place...and it was a bit different than anticipated. First of all, it's not just an ice cream parlor...but a candy store-gift shop. The place was huge, and quite busy in terms of its retail offerings. Too much, if you ask me! Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I don't think this place is that old, but it looked kind of dusty...just not too squeaky clean like most ice cream joints. Think I expected a more luxurious ice cream bar...but far from it. Don't even think there were sitting areas to eat your ice cream (but then I could have missed it?). I tried a small cone of Butter Crunch flavor ice cream. For small, it was a generous portion, and pretty good...but not even close to being Jeni's Splendid good! Overall, glad I checked it out...and maybe we'll give it another try in the future? read more

Came here on the night of Saturday 24th June. Lady seemed to have an attitude and she charged us for an extra ice cream that we did not order. Trying to get a refund was very very hard. The lady was close to not giving a refund, we had paid by credit card and in the end after being insistent for the refund we got the money in cash. Ice cream was pretty good - its Blue Bells so for that reason I am giving 2 stars. read more

A cold sweet treat is always good after a long day in the sun. The Ice cream was good and the kids were happy! I personally would have liked to see the Italian Ice cooler a bit cleaner and better maintained, if so I would have gotten some for myself. We had a Raccoon experience in the parking lot. This place was a wonderful spot for the kids to explore. We stopped by on our family vacation. Sadly, it ended poorly when our 65 year old mother fell off the unmarked step and shattered their hip resulting in surgery. So watch your step! The owners have not once followed-up to check on the status of the hip replacement surgery. The lack of concern from them is saddening. For this reason- I will not support a business that does not show care for their customers. Edit March 2023- it has been 5 months and no word from the owner. My mother has had a full hip replacement. 23 rehab appointments. And has finally graduated to walking with no cane. We are pleased with her recovery. the above incident took place Oct 2022. I called many times and told each employee what happened (to which they all replied horrified) and I asked for a phone call from owner. I still have yet to receive a call back or reply of concern. If we were going to sue- we would have already. Their lack of communication is making me more upset each day. What happened to caring for one another? read more

You know when you go to McDonald's and the soft serve is always down? Yeah, that's this place. The pre-made buckets of ice cream they do have look freezer burnt and like they've been sitting for months. This store is also dirty and disgusting. Their standards for cleaning are not where they need to be. What made us turn around and leave this store was the fact that the customer service was non-existent/awful. Two younger staff member sitting and looking out the window not acknowledging any customers that came into the store. Save yourself some time and do not even get out of the car. read more

Would rate it ZERO stars if possible. Go to 3 Gulls Creamery instead, they have a nice little candy counter that isn't as overpriced and the staff is MUCH nicer. We went here in 2023 and while the selection was good, the candy was a underwhelming for the price. Came here May 1, 2024 after dinner to stock up on some candy for our 5 day stay in Edisto for our miracle girl's 5th birthday. As we walked up we noticed that the open sign was off at just before 7, and the door was locked, despite it saying online it was open until 10 pm. The owner, who gave her name as Laura but refused to give her last name, shouted at my husband, I, our three kids under age 6, and my in-laws through the door that she was doing inventory and closed early and we needed to leave. She continued to say that we couldn't come in because she had boxes everywhere and was afraid we would "come in and trip over one and sue" her. Our kids were upset, especially our oldest and our birthday girl who has special needs, and she yelled at us as we were walking away back to our cars to "go somewhere else then" and said that she has "42 employees" and didn't have to deal with this. We leave and head to 3 Gulls Creamery, and she was taking trash out through the side door and she made a "boo hoo" crying face as we drove off. Our kids were upset and we were shocked. I've never had someone be so rude, ever. Even when/if we return to Edisto, we won't go back there due to Laura. And after reading other reviews, it seems like she's rubbing off on her employees in a negative way too. We'll stock up at another candy store and go to 3 Gulls, where they were happy to help us and thankful for our $$$ business. read more

We had ice cream, the group of 4 before us did as well. All 6 of us had double scoops and they were very generous! The waffle cone was fresh and the ice cream was made by Blue Bunny (I think) only one staff member wS working, she was friendly, efficient and took care of all of us in a time fashion. read more

What a haven of candy & frozen yoghurt in this little shop. It's in the only strip mall in Edisto, off of Jungle Road, kind of behind the Bilo. I'm just so so glad I had no children with me because it's like something out of Willy Wonka . We had the frozen yoghurt & it was just delicious. The lady behind the counter was very helpful considering I had never been to a shop where you pull your own. It's weighed and you pay. So be very careful. We sat outside and enjoyed it immensely before hearing back to Charleston. Guilt free also as what I chose was fat free. So if your in the area you should try it without the added fat or calories. The candy was fine for me. They could restock on some of the selection with a new batch of candy- gummy bears and gummy worms, etc. Other than that, we didn't have any problems CANDY WISE. The employees were rude, didn't say anything to us at all even when we were checking out, and while we were shopping they kept ringing the desk bell trying to signal us to leave because it was 5 mins after closing time. Appalled at how I was treated here. I've been going to Edisto for about 5 times a year for 33 years and NEVER have I been treated the way the girl working at the register treated me. I went in to get my husband and I some yogurt while he waited in the car with my 5 month old son. I went to dispense the yogurt and nothing came out. The rude employee walked over, didn't say a word, pushed several buttons at the flavor dispenser i was standing at and walked away. "Ok I guess it's fixed now" I thought to myself so I tried it again. Then I hear the employee YELL at me "MA'AM IT IS BROKEN. STOP." So naturally I asked her why in the world she wouldn't tell me that when she saw clearly saw me standing there the first time. I put my cup down and walked out. No "hello, how are you" and no "thank you" or "have a good day" when we left. She didn't even tell us our totals and just told us to insert the card. Very disappointing. This candy shop has a "you pull, you buy" policy. When you try to get candy out of the dispenser it rushes out and you end up getting way more candy than you want. It's very difficult for young kids and even adults. It's almost as if the candy dispensing machines are rigged. I took three kids in there and we had three small bags of candy and our bill was $23. That place is a total rip off and the employee was rude. It's very sad because our kids were so excited... but we will never go back there again. read more

My kids would give it 5 stars that's fo' shuwa. A new store that caters to those that crave sweets, sweet bakery, jelly beans, and oddly an overkill of "shock" toys that shock you if you squeeze it, pull it, yank it, and insert it. You know, those shock toys that you used to buy on the back cover of comic magazines back in the 80's. To my kids this was pure nirvana. To me, it just made my kids hyperactive. read more

It's a candy store which also sells Italian ices and frozen yogurt. There's not much to surprise here and the frozen treats are very good but also very expensive. For a family of five we each got an ice or yogurt and a small bag of candy. It didn't seem like much for $40. They do sell fried peanuts which are interesting since you can eat the shell but you could probably get them elsewhere for less. read more

Visited last week while on vacation. Candy was as expected - no better, no worse than anyplace else. Rated one star for the service. Girl working was sitting outside when we went in and she seemed "put out" that she had to come in an wait on us. Made a purchase and she didn't say anything (Thank you, Have a nice day...). After dinner we decided to let the kids have a treat at the candy store. As we were walking up the steps to the candy store, four teen boys were outside cussing using the f-bomb numerous times. We asked them to watch their language, but they continued to be disrespectful. We said something to the two workers that they might want to tell them to leave because they were disrupting the customers and all around disrespect. They were distracting the customers coming in to visit the store and it is supposed to be a family beach and establishment.. The teens entered the store and very loudly continued to curse. We confronted the teens and asked them to once again stop using the profanity. There were grandmothers, mothers, young children and the workers did nothing to help us. We were very disappointed with the lack of integrity of the workers and will not frequent this establishment again. read more
