If I did not tell you that we had not met prior to my first visit, you would have thought I was a regular customer. She was genuinely welcoming and personable. So much so that when I saw first my brows, I hugged her tight as if she had just saved my life. (Southerners are known for their hugs - and I just couldn't help myself). She gave my brows new life. While brows have long been "in", I have inconsistently dabbled with getting them waxed, threaded and tinted. So yes, they were essentially neglected and busted. On the blue moons in which they were cared for, the outcome was nice but never did any service relieve me of a need to fill them in or from needing to brush those wild & curly babies into shape daily. But not today! Felicia did a good job on my lashes too. They were light and natural looking. But the glue she uses is black and sticky and does not really work for me. If a lash is hanging or stuck, a slight pull of the one, knocks off an entire section. It has happened to me one time to many. I've had facial redness for years now, and my dermatologist confirmed that it was sun damage. I didn't think there was anything that could be done about it, since the dermo kind of shrugged it (and my other concern of a raised bump on my nose) off. Fast forward a few months: a coworker had said something about a treatment that she had done to combat sun damage. My ears perked up and I asked her for more information. Long story short, she referred me to Sandra at Skincare Company Spa. I had my third IPL about 4 weeks ago, and I'm seeing legitimate improvements in my skin: so much cheek redness has already gone away. I never thought this was possible! I'm hoping that a fourth treatment can make a bigger dent in the cheek redness that I have. Some brown spots (that I thought were freckles!) lifted and my skin is smoother than it's ever been. Years of pox marks and cystic acne scars have also lessened. Sandra also targeted some keratosis the last time - AKA that strange bump on my nose that my dermatologist shrugged off as not being important enough to address. Sandra absolutely knows skin! She is thorough and knowledgeable about cultural/geographic implications of skin. On my 1st visit, I shared what I knew (that I was primarily Irish), but by the last/3rd visit, after I'd had two prior treatments, we discussed the specifics of my skin and how the characteristics of my skin indicated that there's more to it than just Irish. I pulled up my (updated) Ancestry, which I hadn't looked at in years, and my results aligned with what Sandra was saying. I learned so much from Sandra, which I love. I called again and left a message on the machine. So far I have called 3x in 2015 to book an appointment and no one has called me back. I feel I have wasted my money on this groupon. I see great reviews on Yelp but am unable to get an answer from anyone who works here. Even if there was an appointment option on the website, why do you have a business phone if you don't answer or return phone calls? I actually wanted to see if my groupon works and if it didn't, I would have paid for the services. Furthermore, I am still shocked by her response. It amazes me how someone can lack the skill of servicing others while working in the service industry. If she only sent a note explaining why she hasn't returned my calls or a simple apology. I would have re-written the review and I'd be a returning customer if she meet my expectations. But..Monica couldn't do that because clearly she cannot admit her fault.
