I've always hating shaving because of all the ingrown hairs I get, and getting a Brazilian here leaves me silky and smooth without ingrown hairs. It only takes about 10 minutes and hurt a lot less than I expected it to. It also doesn't hurt at all afterwards. So... I've never done a bikini or Brazilian wax before in my life (or even waxed anywhere in general), which meant I literally dove off the deep end when I spontaneously decided to walk into SUGARED + BRONZED on a random Friday afternoon. I heard of the new client special which is a buy one get one free Brazilian sugaring so $50 for two times just seemed like such a steal! I made my appointment just a few hours prior so I had no time to really think about my decision (or cancel in that matter). When you get there, the girls have you fill out a form on an iPad where you can indicate that your friend recommended you (so that she gets $10 off her next visit!) You're then ushered to your room which is modest and clean and your assigned sugarista comes in to introduce herself and give you further instructions. Basically, this is where you throw all your awkwardness and dignity out the door aka take off your pants and lay on the bed and be cool really. The sugarista was super friendly and kept our conversation engaging to distract me from my impending doom. Simply put - she uses a ball of sugar, lemon and water? over your hair and then flicks it off in the other direction to get it off and to prevent ingrown hairs. Then repeat and repeat until all the hair is gone. For my first time, I was pretty mortified because once you get the hang of what she's doing, you begin to expect the pain as it only hurts when she's flicking the hair off. In terms of the pain, I have no pain tolerance but when you want something enough, you kind of just bear through it. She told me some people stop half way but come on - you paid! My session took around 15 minutes and I can honestly say that it changed my life as I'm sure it will change YOURS! The hair does grow out less, slower and thinner and it really saves from the hassle of shaving or plucking or whatever you've been doing. I'm pretty confident that I'll stick to sugaring now that I've seen the light and I encourage you to do the same when this deal is still available! FEEDBACK: I found it especially helpful when the sugarista told me when to breathe in and breathe out as it gave me a sense of control on when to expect the pain and created the illusion of lesser pain on my part! read more

I honestly can't think of one reason to take away any stars here. This place is open on Sundays and the girls who answer the phones are always sweet and accommodating. I went in this past Saturday at 2 p.m. with an appointment. Thankfully, I was able to get a metered parking spot a few stores down. I filled out my paperwork and met Maddie. She was very friendly and made me feel like I was talking to a friend. The room is bright, but I understand why it has to be. The entire place was spotless and the room I was brought into smelled so clean. Maddie and I got to talking about the various ways one can use coconut oil and when I asked, "have you read 'The Coconut Oil Miracle'?" she enthusiastically replied, "YESS!!" (If you haven't read this book...you should definitely check it out!) This was the first time I've ever tried sugaring and I will probably never go back to waxing. On the pain scale, it is a little less painful, but not by much. However, it is all natural and my skin wasn't all red and irritated. They have a special for first-time guests: two Brazilians for $49! So you basically buy one and the next time you come in, the second Brazilian will be free. That's such a good deal! I loved my tan! My sister and I needed a spray tan before a wedding and one of my friends recommended Bronzed. This was the second time ever that I was getting a spray tan and was very cautious about it because my first time at a different company wasn't so great. The girls at the front desk were really nice and gave me good info about deciding between the normal tan and express. I chose the standard tan in the "post-vacay" color. My sister got the same in express. My spray lady (Maddie) did a great job with directing me how to position my arms and legs during the session. I loved the color it gave me! I would request her again. I got my tan 2 days before the wedding and it was great, and lasted me perfectly for a full week (and I shower every day). It started to come off day 8. By day 10, it looked super splotchy, like I had a disease. I did not use any of the tan extenders. Tip: If you get sprayed at night time (like I did) and need to wash it off in the morning, just know that your sheets will get dirty! My sister got the express tan, washed it off after 2.5 hours, and it looked good, but I think the standard on me looked slightly better. The only problem I had were that my knuckles were veryyy dark. Even after I showered the morning after the tan, it just would not even out. I expressed my concern that morning and the staff was very responsive and gave me some tan remover cream and exfoliating gloves. It worked a little bit, but didn't really make it any better. However, I was just impressed at their great customer service. I would probably just put some more barrier cream on my knuckles next time. Pros: If you are a new customer, there is a really good special for $39 for 2 tans! Additionally, the spray does not smell, but it is pretty sticky in the beginning! read more

I went to get airbrushed for my first time the other night and all I can say is thank god I'm not see-through anymore! Plus buy one, get one free for your first time - can't say no to that. Previously, I used to do mystic tans (way back in the day) and always turned a hint of orange. With airbrush say goodbye to being an oompa loompa, and hello to looking like you just got back from the Cayman Islands (literally). I've been to Sugared and Bronzed several times. Their service is fantastic. Their esthetician's are professional and know exactly what they are doing. The best part for me is the wax they use. I'm prone to ingrown hair no matter how diligent I am in my aftercare routine. With their wax I've never had an ingrown hair. There Wax is very gentle and I hardly feel anything, if I go every 4 weeks. Price wise they are affordable especially since they are located in Beverly Hills. If you are a first time customer you can get 2 Brazilians for $49. After that each session is $49. European Wax center is $54 for the same service but use terrible wax that breaks your hair. I found this place through the reviews and found the reviews to be valid. I loved how quick, easy and clean the spray tanning process was. I did the express tan and the normal spray tan both level 2.5 Ana got a beautiful goldfish bronze color. The only thing I didn't like and the reason for the missing star is when they get your credit card to ring you up they ask you how much tip you want to leave on the credit card. I believe tip and the amount should be a choice a customer makes based on the service they receive not a to be enforced in different methods upon checking out. read more

I came for my first spray tan before my bachelorette weekend and had a great experience! The team was super professional and made me feel comfortable. They explained everything really well, and I decided to go with the Express Tan. I left it on for 2 hours then showered and it was the perfect shade. I've been a monthly member of S&B for 1-2 years. Given that I'm a long time loyal customer, I would have expected this situation to be resolved much differently. Last month, I received a phone call that my appointment had to be reschedule (mind you, this phone call came on a Monday afternoon and my appointment was Wednesday morning). I was told there was a scheduling issue with their staff and they could no longer take me at 9am. As such, I was told I was getting a $10 credit that could be applied to my monthly membership, and I agreed to change my appointment because of this. I would NOT have been so willing to change my appointment otherwise. After my last appointment, I confirmed with the girl behind the desk that my $10 credit would be applied to my monthly membership for the month of August. My credit card was billed $39, and I emailed CJ, who is supposed to be the "director of client experiences" to inquire why my credit was not applied. She told me that the credit cannot be applied to my membership and can only be used for other items/services. I responded to her email that I was told it would be, and she apologized that the staff misinformed me. This is horrible customer service, I was told the credit would be applied and it's not my problem that the staff is misinformed. Anywhere else, this would have been honored because it is their mistake, not mine. I emailed CJ back and cancelled my membership due to horrible customer service and the way that this situation was handled. She would not refund me for the month of August, but I will never be returning to S&B again after my next appointment. I would not recommend S&B to anyone, unless you are looking for horrible customer service (CJ specifically). This review is not against any of the girls behind the counter - they are always super sweet and helpful. I have been seeing Marisha consistently almost the entire time I've been coming to S&B. If you have to go to S&B definitely request her for sugaring. She's the best!! UPDATE - CJ just emailed me that my membership for the month of August could be fully refunding after she discussed the matter with the co-founder of S&B. Although this doesn't make me feel any better about the situation or resolve the issue, at least I don't ever have to go back to S&B again! read more

When I walked in not one girl out of the 5 sitting at the desk greeted me i walked up and said hi i have an appointment... I got my first Brazilian wax and i must say the woman doing it did not try to make me comfortable whatsoever. First off , she didn't introduce her self to me she just brought me into the room and asked me to get undressed and sit on the table.... She came in and I mentioned I've never had a Brazilian wax . As she started I got more and more intolerant of the pain( and I have a high pain tolerance) She didn't seem to care about how much pain i was in, when I mentioned it multiple times or even offer to take a break. Any normal professional would try to make you feel comfortable or even say "oh sorry it hurts we're almost done" anything would of been better then her odd silence. I asked her to leave the rest because i couldnt bare to finish it . I checked out at the front desk she still charged me for a full even tho we didn't come close to doing the whole thing. Was in need for an airbrush tan before attending the golden globes. Through a google search I came upon bronzed. I immediately called to book an appointment. Their pricing is very reasonable and the staff was extremely friendly. They also customized my tan exactly how I wanted. Just wanted a nice glow so I didn't have that winter paleness going on. It wasn't smelly like a lot of spray tans and the formula is organic as well. I highly recommend if you need a glow for a special event or beach vacation. Hands down the place I will be coming from now on. I've bounced back between waxing and sugaring. After moving to California, I've been to two different waxers, and both left me with sub-par results and ingrowns. So I decided to go back to sugaring.
