Kristen is an absolute ROCKSTAR! Over the course of planning our wedding (which took the better part of 3 years thanks to Covid) she has become more than just a wedding planner to me, but someone I truly call a friend. She is the sweetest and most caring person and I found myself being able to talk to her about things beyond wedding details. Not to mention, she is absolutely spectacular at what she does. We hired Kristen for Design Planning and Month/Day-of-Coordination for our wedding at Solage in Calistoga. We wanted someone who was not only familiar with our venue but easygoing and fun to work with. Kristen was perfect! She worked with me on design (tablescape, floral, etc.) and helped make our vision come true while always being mindful of what we were comfortable with. When Covid struck, Kristen was a godsend and was there for us with support and guidance. She navigated us through two postponements and each time handled all of the logistics and worked with our entire vendor team to secure new dates and negotiate amended contracts. We didn't have to lift a single finger during that stressful period besides signing paperwork as Kristen did everything for us to ensure a smooth postponement process. As a planner, Kristen has a special way of making you feel like you are her only and most special client. She is incredibly responsive with emails and every interaction I had with her was just so thoughtful. She never once made me feel silly for reaching out even with the smallest of questions. She is creative, detail-oriented and thoughtful. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, she helped me stay organized and executed changes effortlessly. When I was stressed dealing with last minute transportation logistics, she took it upon herself to take over the task and thanks to her many contacts in Napa Valley was able to secure the right post-wedding transportation for our guests. Ironically, when I was first researching Day-of-Coordinators, I recall reading a review from one of Kristen's brides that mentioned Kristen was amazing during times of crisis and helped her wedding go smoothly despite raging wildfires that day. I remember thinking to myself if, god forbid, our wedding was threatened by NorCal wildfires (which at the time was the most realistic scary thing that could happen), I would definitely want a planner capable of handling a nightmare scenario. Low and behold, Kristen didn't just "handle" our pandemic wedding planning, she crushed it. Our June 2022 Solage wedding turned out absolutely beautiful! The day flowed seemlessly and Kristen and her assistant Sonja were so organized and helpful, I never had to lift a finger. Most importantly, both were just all-around delightful to work with. I remember Sonja helping me stay calm right before I walked down the aisle because I was starting to feel so overwhelmed with joy I nearly bursted into tears. When my husband's shoes were starting to give him trouble, Kristen literally helped bandage him up! We've also had so many family members and other vendors tell us just how wonderful Kristen was to work with that day. I am almost saddened to write this review because not only does it mean my wedding is over, but also because my time working with Kristen has come to an end. If you don't read any of what I wrote above, just read this - hiring Kristen was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. I must admit, I'm a little embarrassed to be writing this review so late! We hired Kristen for our 2019 wedding at Viansa Sonoma Winery. Based on our needs, we went with a day/month-of planning package with event design. While we were only contracted for 3 scheduled meetings together, working with Kristen meant having a trusted professional to bounce ideas off of over email or phone, with basically any and all questions about vendors, timing, rehearsal dinner ideas, etc etc. After having attended a few weddings after our own and seeing some of the behind-the-scenes, what we feel makes Kristen a fantastic wedding coordinator/planner for us was that she not only has a good eye for design and incorporating a couple's individual style into a wedding vision, but she is also incredibly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, trustworthy, thoughtful, and personable - everything that you want in someone who will be working with you to plan one of the most important days of your life! Before planning our wedding, I would have definitely considered myself a bit of a neurotic perfectionist; probably not a wedding planner's first choice of a bride/groom/couple! Despite this, Kristen never once made us feel silly or self-conscious about all the questions we had, and she was remarkably patient when we were indecisive or when we couldn't quite nail down the direction we wanted to go in. She was practical and gave great suggestions on which design details to commit to and leave behind if we felt like we were straying too far from our initial budget, and ultimately, we reached a design that we still swoon about. Prior to the wedding, she got in contact with each and every vendor and created detailed plans/timelines/layouts for our wedding day and venue to make sure everyone could be on the same page. Having all the details/specifics on paper and transparently communicated with us and our vendors put us at complete ease! What really made me come back and write a review over 2 years after our wedding (I am still kicking myself for somehow forgetting to do so right away!), is all the details and stories that have surfaced from friends and family to this day about everything Kristen and the Sugar Rush team were doing behind the scenes. The rehearsal was conducted so smoothly - there was no question about who needed to go where and when, and they left no stone left unturned. Details like - which way should we stand for the best light at the time of our ceremony, giving the bridesmaids and groomsmen visual markers in the ceremony space so they would know where to walk and where to stand, touching base with each speaker and confirming whether they wanted a mic or a lapel, when they would get tapped to mic-up on the day of the wedding and who they should look for if they have questions, where the wedding party could leave their belongings during the ceremony and throughout the night - the list goes on and on! Things you wouldn't even think to consider, Kristen and her team already had covered. I learned Kristen and the Sugar Rush team (Sonja and Madison) were always available to grab and hold onto sunglasses and personal items for our Moms and wedding party and always made sure personal belongings made it back to the right person. When my husband accidentally spilled red gatorade on his white dress shirt, Kristen was there with a Shout wipe to save the day. There were a few super minor hiccups (I think one table had one fewer chair, and champagne glasses weren't set at each table setting since the caterer thought these would be passed), but Kristen and her team quickly remedied the situation and I never even heard about it until months later! We got more wind than we were expecting on our wedding day, and Kristen quickly pivoted some of our design elements to ensure things wouldn't be blowing over during the ceremony and cocktail hour. She just had great instincts and judgment and was so on top of everything! It was like the Sugar Rush team was simultaneously so present, but so invisible throughout the night. I am so thankful to Kristen and her team for their services, both leading up to our wedding, and on the day of. For any couple on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator/planner - DO IT! Not only did we pull off the most gorgeous, intimate, and romantic ceremony at our venue on our original wedding date, but we also had an incredibly fun, electric, and epic reception there one year later. Kristen is AMAZING! After running around in my bridesmaid dress and heels putting place cards on all of the tables at my sister's wedding, I vowed I would hire a wedding planner for my big day. Trust me, she was worth every penny. I used Kristen for Event and Floral design as well as day-of coordination. I didn't have a huge budget but she was so good at coming up with cost effective decorations. She was all about using each decoration to its full potential (taking the ceremony decorations and using them during cocktail hour, using centerpieces during the ceremony, etc). She was so organized and on top of it all. I didn't have to worry about anything on my wedding day, I just showed up and enjoyed the awesome work she did. This woman literally fed me cheese and crackers during cocktail hour while we were taking pictures. She noted what drinks we wanted so that she'd have them ready for us after the ceremony. She wore a headset and told her assistant downstairs to not let the guests who showed up during the processional sit down until I walked down the aisle. She helped pull twigs and leaves out of my dress (it was at a winery). When I was waiting for the wedding to start, I texted her asking for a bottle of water and she brought it to me. Seriously?! She is priceless. I felt so pampered and stress-free. Her personality is fantastic. She's so cute and sweet. She doesn't make fun of your silly ideas and she gets what you mean when you say you want a "vintage rustic-chic" wedding. If you can manage to fit her into your budget, even just for day-of coordination, you will not regret it. She not only brought my vision to life, but she gave me peace of mind. Kristen Jensen from Sugar Rush is absolutely amazing! She is super sweet, calm, organized, detail-oriented, experienced, and very very good at what she does. Her friendly and outgoing personality enables her to get along with all of the vendors, guests, and family members. When I was initially searching for a wedding coordinator, I asked a few vendors if they had worked with Kristen. All of the vendors highly recommended Sugar Rush and now I know why! From the day we first began working with Kristen up until the day of our wedding, Kristen was always there to address any questions or concerns. My decision to invest in a day-of coordinator was the best decision I made during the wedding planning process. Kristen made sure the entire day went smoothly so that my husband and I could sit back, relax, and enjoy our wedding! Where do I even begin?! From start to finish, Kristen was amazing! She took my vision and made it better than I could have imagined! She is so incredibly easy to work with and takes a lot of the stress of wedding planning off. I am type A, obsessive compulsive, controlling person but I felt complete trust in Kristen and she did not disappoint! There were some unforeseen bumps in our wedding planning (like half the venue burning down!) and if it wasn't for Kristen's reassurance and confidence I don't know what would have happened! She has an eye and taste that is unlike any other. She really knows what is important when it comes to the wedding day, keeping the bride as well as all the wedding guests in mind. We used Kristen for wedding design & day-of coordination for our August wedding at Cornerstone and couldn't have been happier. We wanted a bit of an unconventional wedding (more of a daytime garden party vs. a round tables and dance floor affair), and since we paid for most of the wedding ourselves we were a bit limited in what we could spend. Kristen was full of great suggestions for vendors, decor, layout, etc. Also, I feel like many planners have the urge to tell their clients what they want to hear, but if we suggested an idea to Kristen that she didn't think would work (because of the venue, the cost, or just the potential for disaster) she was very honest with us, which was much appreciated. Long story short, Kristen helped us achieve our wedding vision with minimal stress and without having to spend our life savings, which let us enjoy the process. On the day of the wedding we were so relaxed knowing that everything was meticulously planned and organized. Everything ran on schedule, there were no last-minute crises, and Kristen and her super-friendly assistant were always around making sure things went perfectly. There was no confusion about where we needed to be and when. Kristen would also bring us glasses of champagne and plates of food since we were so busy talking to guests the entire reception! I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this past weekend where the wedding planner (and her 2 assistants) were pretty disorganized. Speeches were forgotten, things ran late, announcements were missed, vendors were confused, boutonnieres were lost, requests from the bride were unheeded, and the wedding planner had a "not my problem" attitude about the whole thing. The one thing that my husband and I learned from the whole wedding planning process is that it is very important to establish trust and a comfortable working relationship with whomever you decide to sign a contract with. On our first meet and greet with Kristen my husband and I knew we were going to hire Sugar Rush Events. It was very easy to talk to Kristen and our personalities really clicked! Her fresh, happy, and energetic personality made us really excited to begin the whole planning process! At first we were apprehensive to start because of all the horror stories of how stressful planning a wedding can be, but Kristen really made us feel at ease. Her professionalism and experience really shined through when we had our meetings about the different components, ideas, budget, and overall feel of our wedding were discussed. Since Kristen was a simple text, email, or a phone call away her guidance throughout the whole process kept my husband and I on task. On our first real meeting about wedding design Kristen was well prepared by proposing a look to us based on our personalities and some other ideas of what we previously talked about. We absolutely loved it! She really captured who we were as a couple! Since I tend to get a little indecisive at times it was awesome that she narrowed down our options and had the right idea of what we were looking for. Kristen was right there every step of the way. Even a few weeks before the wedding some changes needed to be made to fit our budget she worked tirelessly to keep the look we wanted but lower the price significantly. On our wedding weekend in Calistoga, Kristen and Sugar Rush Events continued with their high quality of service. It began with an easy, well timed, and informative rehearsal, which I commend Kristen for being able to handle my crazy family who was partially buzzed because we went wine tasting beforehand. The day of the wedding I kept getting asked by my bridesmaids as well as our hairstylists if I was okay. The reason why they asked was not due to me looking stressed out but because I looked too relaxed. Everyone was surprised that I was so calm and peaceful. I owe that all to Kristen and her making me feel like I had no worries in the world. Everything was well planned for and I knew that our wedding was in good hands! The whole day either Kristen or her assistant constantly checked up on me and my husband. They made sure to get us anything that we wanted or needed! All the months of planning became a reality and we couldn't have asked for a more spectacular wedding! With Kristen's help we were able to pull off a long awaited (my husband and I have been together for 13 years) wedding by our family and friends! We had our wedding in my parent's backyard in Lafayette, and we really, truly, seriously, could not have done it without Kristen. Trying to throw a 150-person wedding without all the built-in support you get from having an official "venue" was definitely a challenge, and there were so many things we didn't know, and didn't even know we didn't know, and Kristen was a real necessity for filling in those knowledge gaps. There were lots of emails flying around because my fiance and I were out of the country until a month before the wedding, and my parents were intimately involved in the planning process (it was at their house after all), and Kristen was extremely responsive and dealt really well with all that email chaos. And on the wedding day itself she and her staff were literally the engine that drove that train home. She really made our wedding such a stress-free, smoothly-running, gorgeous, tasty event. Aaaaaaaaah! I love Kristen & Sugar Rush! I've been hoping someone I know in the bay area will get engaged soon so I can make them use Kristen, and that hasn't happened yet, so I'll yelp all about her. I used Kristen's services for day-of (which is really month-of with her) and event design. She coordinated all the rentals, decoration and lighting, and I used her recommendations for floral, DJ and a photobooth. (Our venue provided its own catering.) She worked beautifully with all the vendors I found on my own (including the reggae band I hired for cocktail hour after seeing them at a pizza place -- by the way, I totally recommend them!). Kristen was very responsive, easy to reach, and never made me feel crazy or difficult. She didn't meet my husband or any of the bridal party until the wedding rehearsal, and they all felt instantly comfortable with her and thought she was great too. I really felt like I could relax and enjoy the week of my wedding (and of course the wedding itself) because I knew I was in good hands. She even had an emergency kit that fixed my bracelet (which broke as I was putting it on before the ceremony) and shout wipes that cleaned the dirt off my wedding dress after we took some pre-pics in a bed of pine needles. If you're asking yourself, do I need a coordinator? The answer is yes. I'm one of the most organized project managers in the world and I still needed her. She made the wedding day flow with ease and every day up to that. You don't want to deal with the crap that comes up on the day of the wedding. You want someone who knows the industry so you can bounce questions off of. And if you want someone who can design a masterpiece of a wedding accustomed to your personal flair and budget, it's her. Two regrets people have are 1) I didn't take enough time off before the wedding and 2) I didn't have a coordinator. So now that's discussed, let's talk about Kristen. Oh my good Lord, can you say bride whisperer??? That would be the start to describe how wonderful Kristen Jensen is. First of all, she makes you feel like you are literally her only client. How in the world she does this, I have no idea. I literally felt like she was my responsive best friend and I was her most clingy, needy friend who she still loved and took care of. After the wedding was over, I felt like I lost a friend. Seriously. I'm not someone who just falls in love with everyone they meet. But Kristen, amazing. I interviewed at least a dozen coordinators. I wanted a coordinator who knows the venue (Cornerstone Sonoma) and who knows design (featured all over her portfolio). She was the best option. She isn't the cheapest option, but she is the best. Everyone thinks she is amazing. Anyone you talk to they'll say right away "Yeah, Kristen is the best." Even people who never worked with her before on my team said nothing but praises. You don't ask for the praises. It's the first thing out of their mouth. Kristen is associated with the best. Why is she the best? She's on top of everything. She's organized. She has an amazing team and personality. She makes you feel important. She looks out for you. She helps you out. She is well worth every damn penny you'd pay for her. I must have sent her 6,000 emails over the year I worked with her. She responded to EVERY SINGLE EMAIL with a positive outlook. She also knows how to redirect a bad idea of yours without you feeling poorly. If you're lucky enough to book her, do it. The woman was even willing to help me pee and dress me afterward. My only regret of using Sugar Rush is now I won't talk to her as often and that makes me sad. Whatever you're doing, stop reading reviews and book Kristen. Best decision of my wedding by far. I was a very hands-on bride and cared about all the details from cake design to homemade programs. One of the many things that I liked about Sugar Rush Events is how customizable the service is. There are different packages and a la carte meetings you can select from. And since there were a lot of tasks I wanted to handle on my own, I hired Kristen for day of coordination and for event design (since I had no clue about table linens, gobos, chivari chairs, etc). From the moment my husband and I met Kristen, we liked her right away. Even with all her experience, she was so personable and down to earth. I felt like we would have received the same warm treatment whether we had a 10 thousand dollar budget or 100 thousand. From day one to the final hours, she was so on top of everything. E-mails were returned promptly, she worked well with all our other wedding vendors, her day-of timeline was so organized, she scored discounts for us with the rentals, etc. She even picked us up from the BART station for a design meeting! I felt so calm the day of my wedding because I had so much trust in Kristen to take care of everything. Before the big day, everybody's advice to me was that inevitably something will go wrong but to just let it go and enjoy the day. While we haven't had our wedding yet, I want to review Kristen now for all those brides looking to book a wedding planner in 2018 and encourage them to hire Sugar Rush Events. I wish I could give 10 stars to Kristen Jensen--she is truly an amazing person and so much more than just a wedding planner. Our wedding was scheduled for Oct. 14 in Sonoma, and my fiance and I woke up the Monday before our wedding to the news about the devastating fires in the North Bay. Up until it was no longer possible, Kristen worked tirelessly on our behalf to reach out to our vendors and find alternative venue options--basically doing everything in her power to try to make our wedding happen. She checked in with us constantly, sending sweet texts and staying SO positive and encouraging during what was one of the hardest few days we've ever had. I can't even count the number of times we texted/spoke on the phone, and I know there is no way we would have gotten through the week without her. Once we made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding, Kristen sprung immediately into action, contacting all our vendors with a new potential date and taking over all communication with them. Within three days, we had a new wedding date with all of our vendors except one on board. She was so reassuring that we could still have the day of dreams despite this setback, and she even sent us the most beautiful bouquet of flowers the day following our cancellation. She found us a new make-up artist and hairstylist (and was able to secure these at a discount) and also helped us in rescheduling (at a discount) with our welcome party venue. It was truly unbelievable the amount of work she put into this and what she was able to pull off. I want to note that we did not hire Kristen as a full-time coordinator, and rather hired her for Day-of as well as a la carte design services. She did not have to spend so much time doing all this on our behalf, and we are so grateful to her that she did. This is of course all in addition to the wonderful planning services she provided up until this point, as well as the design details she dreamed up for our wedding--while those have yet to be executed, we have no doubt that with Kristen by our side our new wedding day will be everything we had imagined and more! read more

kristen is incredible and made our wedding perfect, and she was by far the best planning decision i made in the whole process. book her book her book her now!!! she was incredibly easy to work with, completely organized and on top of things (and this is coming from someone who is very type-a myself), and took all of the stress away. i heard from so many people that the actual wedding day and weekend can be stressful but neither of us were stressed or worried about anything all weekend because we knew that kristen was on top of things. we hired her for month-of coordinating + design help, and it was the best investment. her design sense was perfect, and she helped us stay within budget and keep to our vision, and was super creative along the way. she continued to check-in and was always there to answer questions (including those from our parents), and went the extra step every moment of the way. everyone who was in our wedding also commented on how incredibly organized and helpful she was, without getting in the way, and how laid-back we seemed (because of her!!!). seriously, just hire her already:)! & thanks kristen -- you helped to make our weekend a dream!! read more

Kristen is the most amazing human being on the planet. No, seriously, she is. We hired Kristen to be our planner for our Napa wedding of 215 guests. It was a very complicated, fully outdoor, high-end event with numerous moving parts. This was a particularly challenging event because here had never before been a wedding held at the private estate we chose. Lots of vendors, first-time challenges and varied personalities to conquer. So what happened? Kristen created the most stunning wedding for us imaginable. No stone was left unturned. Every item was fully thought through. Every element was flawlessly managed. Her attention to detail is second to none. If there is one word to describe Kristen, it's "perfect." In addition to her wedding planning ability, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She has some of the best people skills of anyone I've ever met personally or professionally... from negotiating with vendors to explaining to five-year olds what to do at the ceremony. Her level of responsiveness and the degree to which she personally invests herself is nothing short of amazing. Hiring Kristen of Sugar Rush Events for our day-of-coordination was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding on April 23, 2016 and we cannot recommend her enough. This review is a bit long, but it's long because I feel that strongly about recommending Sugar Rush. Kristen seriously went above and beyond and worked with us along the way, not just on the day of our wedding, to make it go smoothly and feel special. I'm type-A and have planned many events, so it was of utmost importance that we hire someone I could totally trust to get things done. Kristen fit the bill - she is a seasoned professional, who was on top of everything - but she was also immediately approachable, super friendly and energetic and in the crazy world of wedding excess, the pricing was reasonable. Once you sign with Sugar Rush, you also get their list of preferred vendors, many of whom we hired for our other wedding needs. With that in mind, we recommend that before you do anything else, you hire your coordinator/planner first. The communication was great - her replies were always prompt and comprehensive. She offered her professional opinion to many questions we had and kept our taste and budget in mind. For instance, she helped us get more bang for our back, advising us on creative ways to re-use décor throughout the day (i.e. reuse bridesmaids flowers for barn décor) and specifically helped me narrow down core ideas from the never-ending inspiration I found on Pinterest . She kept us on track and reached out to us, especially as it got closer to our wedding day. Kristen made us feel like we were always her top priority, although in reality, she's juggling a plethora of clients. She was there for our rehearsal the day before, which she again handled like a pro. We had a gigantic bridal party (and anytime you have that many people, it can be a handful), but she was able to make it fun, while simultaneously get everyone in line. I also threw her a curve ball the day before the wedding - we decided to do a last-minute seating chart display that required more flowers. I showed her my inspiration photo and she handled the rest - coordinating with our florist and executing the vision to perfection. On the actual day of our wedding, Kristen brought along her colleague Jovi, who was also absolutely great and pleasant to work with. They kept us on our timeline, without being pushy. So many of our friends and family remarked how great they were and it's true - they had this great disposition about them. They felt more like old friends, and not some help for hire (and while I'm glad to be done planning our wedding, I miss their presence!). The two ladies gave us one of the best gifts, which was the gift to totally let loose and enjoy our day without worrying about anything. When I decided to get married at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma, I was a little irked that the venue required that I hire a day of coordinator. I thought that it would have just been a waste of a couple grand and that I, being an exceptionally organized and decisive person, could have handled everything myself. While I still believe that I could probably have done it all myself, I am so exceptionally happy that I ended up hiring Kristen Jensen of Sugar Rush Events as my month of coordinator. I called several coordinators listed on Cornerstone's vendor list and just didn't click with any of them. Some of the coordinators never returned my calls and the ones that did seemed disinterested or simply did not feel that my needs for a day of coordinator was worth their time (many wanted me to hire them for full wedding planning services). Finally, I called Kirsten, and she returned my call right away and I just loved her even from the initial phone conversation. She was upbeat, friendly, and was more excited about my wedding than I was. Plus, she had a lot of great ideas and never once did she make me feel pressured to buy a bigger package. Kristen's pricing is very reasonable given all that she does for her brides. Even having only for the month of package, I felt like she was an incredible help. She provided me with unlimited e-mail and phone contact and two in-person meetings. She gave great ideas, was patient, and always made me feel like she was genuinely invested in my wedding. Kristen even calmed me down and saved the day when my officiant quit just 3 days prior to my wedding. On top of being just awesome overall, Kristen also tells you the honest truth and sets the right expectations. She was honest and upfront with me about how well my decor would stand up, how much I could realistically do given the time constraints, and that my initial floral budget wasn't going to get me what I wanted. On the day of, Kristen and her team just did a spectacular job. I had a ton of decor items and DIY elements that needed to be set-up, and they just did it all perfectly. Everything from my napkin rings, to the vintage table cloth on the cake table, to the pennants and paper pom poms behind the head table was set up perfectly. I initially had reservations whether or not all my decor items would make it up, but Kristen did not miss a single touch-- she even remembered to put a bottle of khalua at the coffee station like I asked. My husband and I are just so grateful that we had Kristen as our coordinator. She managed our timeline but also gave us flexibility to do what we wanted. She made sure that all the details were taken care of so we were actually able to enjoy our wedding day. While I absolutely loved my wedding and thought it went absolutely perfectly, if I had to do it over again, I would hire Kristen as my full blown wedding coordinator, rather than just the month of coordinator. It would have saved me so much time, energy, and probably even some money at the end of the day. I cannot say enough good things about Kristen. Take it from me, a highly organized, decisive, and OCD bride: hire Kristen, she will ensure your wedding vision comes to reality, and more importantly, you'll get to actually enjoy your day too. And the last word of advice, if you're thinking of just hiring her as your day or or month of coordinator, just spend the extra money and hire her for full services, she's absolutely worth it! read more

As much as I would love to work with her, we ended up working with someone who can speak Mandarin instead. Initially, as I was planning my wedding, I wanted to do it without a Day of Coordinator. As I spoke to more people about their weddings, the thing I heard the most was either that the best thing they did was hire a DOC or the worst thing they did was trying to do it without one. I decided to try to find a DOC and was recommended to Sugar Rush Events, owned by Kristen Jensen. Kristin was pregnant at the time and so would not actually be at my event, I would have an assistant of hers. This did not bother me, since after I met Kristin, I could tell that she was the type of person that would have only awesome people working for her. She was so organized and thought of things I never would have thought of during our first meeting, she asked me about my time line for the wedding, how I wanted the chairs set up for the ceremony, how I wanted the flower petals done, what and how I wanted the tables set up, etc. During the ensuing months, Kristen kept a tight reign on my wedding day plans. As the day approached we arranged a final meeting at my venue with Alyson the assistant that would be coordinating my wedding. I was not surprised that Alyson was great too- sweet, professional and enthusiastic. Kristen stayed in control of the plans, and emailed quite a bit with my venue manager as well to make sure we were all on the same page. Kristin gave all the detailed notes to her assistant, Alyson, who was absolutely wonderful. She came to the rehearsal as well which made life so much easier for us. At my actual wedding, people in my wedding party were asking me "Where did you find Alyson? She's fantastic!!!!". I swear she had to be in three places at once, setting things up and troubleshooting and just did not stop smiling the whole time. I was thrilled with the way everything went, it was seamless and beautiful and I didn't have to do a thing on the best day of my life! read more

Kristen Jensen is phenomenal. We gave her a loose idea of the theme we wanted for our wedding and she turned it into something extraordinary. Kristen really understood our personalities and sentiments and worked with us to create a unified vision. From narrowing down our vast collection of images to tips on where to focus our energy, she was always there. One of the things we really appreciated about Kristen was how organized she is. She kept us on schedule and was flexible when our lives became busy. She was extremely attentive to our families and worked with them and Park Avenue to incorporate some of our families' culinary traditions. We also really appreciated how on the nose she was with our budget. She was always upfront about the costs of items but also did a great job of working in the elements that meant the most to us. On the day of our wedding, she and her team did a wonderful job of coordinating with our photographers and family members and was very supportive when the nerves kicked in. Before and after the ceremony she and her team made sure the bridal party was taken care of and properly fed. It was a really nice touch that we were able to have samplings from the cocktail hour while we were being photographed. During and after the wedding we received numerous compliments from our guests who couldn't believe how beautiful and unique our wedding was. Many said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Kristen is an excellent coordinator and a wonderful spirit. Kristen Jensen is fantastic! I hired Kristen to help day-of wedding coordination and event design and the experience was wonderful! She took care of so much and made sure we (not just me and my husband... she answered questions from the parents too!) felt comfortable with each and every part of the wedding. She arrived at the venue early to set up and made sure the ceremony, cocktail area, and reception sites were all beautiful. She also checked in with me throughout the day to make sure I was happy and relaxed. I love Kristen and Sugar Rush Events. Kristen did my brothers wedding about 5 years ago, and did my wedding just last year. She is amazing at what she does!! I used Kristen for every part of our wedding. She handled all of the coordination between the caterer, baker, lighting, flowers, tent and more. She was the one that would look over all the contracts and make sure they were right before sending them our way. It was so nice that I only had to contact one person instead of keeping track of everyone that was part of our wedding. Kristen's experience in the industry was evident from the first time we met with her. She listened to our ideas and the vision we had for the wedding, and truly made it come to life. We got married at a venue that did not have a lot of traditional wedding amenities, so it really took a lot coordination to get all of the vendors on the same page. This is my first Yelp, and maybe my last. But...it has to be done. Because Kristen Jensen MADE our wedding work. When we began planning our wedding, we felt that we wanted our back yard affair to be a casual, homey evening without the trappings and expenses of most weddings today. One of the things we certainly did NOT want was any kind of person/coordinator to tell us what or what not to do. The problem was that because both the ceremony and reception were in the same location, there was a lot of movement of chairs and furniture throughout the evening. I began to realize that I didn't want to be the one trying to coordinate all of the movement. Enter Kristen. She had been recommended to us by friends who had used her for more "traditional" type weddings, but they had said she was great. She worked with us on a price for what we needed. We only met with her once prior to the rehearsal, and I was surprised at two things...first, she seemed to grasp everything we wanted VERY quickly, and secondly, she seemed to think that what we needed to do was very "doable". I loved her confidence..just wasn't sure she knew exactly how hard her job was going to be. She showed up at our rehearsal...and took over. She knew EVERYTHING. She had thought of EVERYTHING. We were a large and rowdy wedding party and she handled the evening with efficiency, friendliness and knowledge. The day of the wedding, she showed up early, and went to work. Oh my!!! Details that were beyond me (MOB) at that point were handled with ease and perfection. She knew when to do what we had asked, and even knew when to suggest something different (like lighting candles later than we first thought). ALL movement of all furniture, arches, tables were accomplished (a total flip of the backyard) while we took family pictures after the ceremony AND she quickly let us know so that I could stop thinking about it. From then on, the evening swept me away. However, I continued to feel her presence when toasts somehow got done on schedule, dinner served, cake cut, candles lit, favors distributed, and on and on. She quietly and efficiently moved thru a chaotic and wonderful party to make it perfect. She was amazing. It's hard to explain how much she helped us....she is worth every penny and a lot more!!
