After a couple of years of in-home, self-manicures, I revisited Sugar Nails. I wanted to look my best ahead of my wedding. I made an appointment with Holly, a co-owner. While she has never done my nails, I thought a co-owner would be the most trustworthy for such an important occasion. We decided upon acrylics with gel polish because this would be "long lasting." The new set of nails were uneven and misshaped. I tried offering feedback during my appointment, but Holly was so confident in her work. I felt dismissed and disappointed. Plus, the nails barely lasted two weeks. The acrylics literally popped off. This is highly unusual and unsatisfactory; I used to wear acrylics regularly when I lived elsewhere and this has never happened. Since my last visit, Sugar Nails now offers more services like lashes and spray tan. Instead of a one-stop shop, it looks like a hoarder's paradise (read: fire hazard). It feels cramped and looks so dirty. I no longer recommend this business for all the reasons I've listed above. read more

While Holly was doing my friend's mani, Holly's mom was giving my friend a pedi. There are a few uneven surfaces and some spillage on the side of the gel nails. But overall they did a great job. The older gentleman (the uncle) did my pedi, french manicure and did so well. he was soo gentle and so polite. He was a man of very few words. my pedi looks great. The most basic manicure ever. Like, so basic that they never had me wash my hands. No cuticle gel/cream before they trimmed them - just a soak in lukewarm water. And they did massage my hands and arms - with oil, not lotion, while my nails were wet. In the end, The polish is lumpy, with some of it overlapping cuticle, and some of it not quite coming to the edges. I would not go back here. My friend and I went there a few weeks ago and while my experience was average for one of these types of salons, she had a hell of a one. First off, they knicked her nails so bad and that new girl, I have no idea what her name is, does not know how to do dip. She had so many layers of dip on top of eachother and left the salon in tears. These photos below are after she went to Walmart and got a buffer. Wonderful place! Truly one of the best, the customer service was off the charts, they were always attentive and they knew every customers name who came in, and exactly what they like to get. I signed up for their rewards program (which I rarely do) and there are many coupons available, though I'm not sure I'll ever use them, as they are really fairly priced with lots of colors and options to choose from! I went to Lili Nails today after a friend recommended the place. When I first got there they had changed the name of the sign to Sugar Nails so I was very confused as to where it was. There were no other clients inside so I didn't have to wait for my mani/pedi. The facility itself is very clean and sanitary. The pedicure chair was comfortable and they even lined the basin with plastic so it's extra clean. They also brought out new tools for my pedicure. My pedicure technician was wonderful, she did a great job with scrubbing and massaging my feet. For my manicure, I just had acrylic tips put on and it turned out perfectly. Both technicians were very friendly and made easy conversation without probing or being too forceful. They also had a movie playing on their large flat screen tv. I would definitely recommend this place to others, their prices are fair and their service excellent. read more

They use every safety precaution necessary normally and with Covid they stepped up their game with more protection. RACIST SALON!! I called to schedule an appointment and was told to come in at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday a couple of weeks ago. This was my first time visiting this salon. I brought my elderly mother with me. Before we could enter the salon, a tech (young lady) immediately opened the door and RUDELY said they had not appointments available. I told her that I had just called and was given an appointment. The tech said again, "We do not have any appointments available!" By the way, there was only one customer inside the salon during that time. I know that my elderly mother and I were discriminated against, because we were African American and due to my mother being in a wheel chair. Everyone who enters your establishment should be treated with respect no matter the color of their skin and disability. Always know that you can not judge a person based on their skin color and disability. My mother and I are both retired military soldiers and have never been so blatantly discriminated against in both our combined 50 years of active military service. I went there twice and they don't even let me wait there to get my nails dry. The lady said "5 more min and you are done". she put the nail dryer spray. I saw my Nail Polish got ruined when I reached home. I was very disappointed. I am very concerned of my polished nails. I really like to wait for my nails to get dry and then do any other activity. The service is not great at all. And they are always asking for tip regardless of a good service. I don't mind giving the tip if service is good. But I don't like being forced to give the tip. First, I was asked to make the payment before getting mani/pedi. Then they ask me how much I want to tip.How can decide for the tip before the service? What if I don't like the service and don't want to tip. To every other nail salon I have been, they never asked for the tip explicitly. They just let us decide if I will tip for the service. I have friends who are devotees of Lili Nail, and as it's close to my home, I tried it out several times. For whatever reason, every time I went, I'd get greeted by a chorus of friendly hellos, and then the one lady who looked dour and unwelcoming would march over and be my technician. Sigh! She does have a great knack for cuticle and skin care and possibly some of the best Atlanta area arm massages, but what is UP with the lack of polish skills? After twice going home, sighing sadly at the chipped, gloppy mess, and redoing the polish myself from scratch, I decided it wasn't worth continuing to pay them money just for the skin care part of a manicure. I mean... a manicure where you have to paint your own nails kinda defeats the point. The other thing to know is that the shiny rack of OPI polish you see... is not actually OPI polish. They refill it with who knows what, bought from who knows where, into bottles who knows how old. Don't believe me? Turn over enough of the bottles to see the labels on the bottom, and you'll see lots that have the same name printed on them but totally different colors inside. Or even better, if you're a nail polish nerd like me, you may see the name of a color you recognize or own and go, "Wait, Big Apple Red wasn't a light bronzey color last time I checked..." Typical strip mall nail shop. Decent polish selection although many were old and thick. I specifically asked for special attention to my cuticles on my pedi and didn't get it. Upon inspection at home, a couple of toes look like they didn't get touched at all! I realize that my toe nails are small but geez I expected a lot more, especially since I told her to skip the massage. They offered beverages to everyone else but me.
