Lera was an amazing manicurist and brow specialist and was so sweet! She knew exactly how to shape my brows without me over explaining. And Julia gave an amazing pedicure and massage, I was so relaxed when I left.The shoulder massage with my pedicure was amazing! I've been coming to this nail salon on and off for the past four years, and I can honestly say it has gotten so much better over time. The location is incredibly convenient, just a short 7-minute walk from public transportation, making it easy to get to without a car. It's right in the heart of Koreatown, surrounded by amazing food and drink spots, so it's easy to turn a nail appointment into a fun day out. From what I remember, the prices are also very affordable for the quality of service, when they weren't really before. The staff always does a great job, and I leave happy every time. Honestly, I feel like Sugar Nail locations are a bit of a rip off. I specifically love coming to this location because the location is convenient, the people are great, and the salon itself is nice. But it is just way too expensive for a pedicure, and the price seems to be different every time. One of my friends even told me that she was charged differently than what they were advertising. She noticed because she always gets the exact same service. So I would definitely recommend asking for a breakdown of the charges before paying. It's too bad because this place really does nickel and dime you for everything, including removing previous gel even when it was done by them. They also charge extra for the better gel color brands, whereas other salons usually include those options in the price. I brought my sister here as a birthday treat and wish I had gone elsewhere. No customer should walk into a salon with a scheduled appointment and leave feeling like they're inconveniencing the staff. Between being cut during my pedicure, my sister feeling rushed through her services, and hearing complaints about having to complete our appointment, the experience was uncomfortable from start to finish. To top it off, our bill came to $232.88 after a 10% discount. The additional charges weren't made clear, and had they been, I would have chosen another salon. Booked a basic gel manicure here before a vacation, and by the time I arrived at my destination the next day, two of my nails had already peeled off entirely. Not chipped but fully peeled in one piece. By the end of the trip, all ten were gone. It would literally flake off with no effort from something like washing my hands. My first technician barely filed or prepped my nails before applying the gel. When I went back to get them fixed, I was assigned a different technician who went way too hard. She filed so aggressively it burned, and my nails were visibly damaged afterward. I still had to tip her, which felt frustrating considering it was a fix for poor initial work. I get that she thought I was being too rough with the nails so she filed extra hard so that it would stay, but the only reason the original gel didn't stay is because I never got properly buffed and filed in the first place, not because I was rough with them. The gel manicure cost $60, which is not cheap. I tipped the first technician, the second technician who "fixed" it, and had to pay for parking twice. I expected better training and consistency across technicians. Parking is validated for two hours, but that might not be enough. I had an appointment and still waited around 35 minutes before anyone was available. The full visit lasted over two hours, so I ended up paying for parking on top of everything else. read more

Her attention to detail is unmatched, and her nail designs are always precise and beautifully executed. You could show her virtually any inspiration photo, and she would recreate it flawlessly. Unfortunately, Joanna left in May, and after almost a month without her, I've realized there's really no reason for me to continue coming here. If you truly care about the health of your natural nails, be cautious. My nails became extremely thin, flimsy, and felt like paper after services here. Healthy nails should not be breaking so easily. Joanna's work was the exception. She consistently delivered quality results while paying attention to the condition of my nails. I wish her the best wherever she is now. P.S. I always make an appointment in advance, yet every single time I come in, I end up waiting at least 20-30 minutes, sometimes longer. Not once have I been taken at my scheduled time. Wow, I am really saddened by the amount of negative reviews for this location. It is truly the only nail salon I trusted to do my nails when I was living in the area. I frequently had both gel and GelX manicures as well as gel pedicures done by many of the technicians here and have never left disappointed. It is somewhat pricier than other salons, but I found it worth it based on the quality of work as well as the elevated vibe. They also have soooo many color options including higher end Korean brands that come out really beautifully. The facilities are very clean and there are always quite a few technicians working on any given day making them able to accommodate last minute requests without much run-around. I was ALWAYS seen on time when I made an appointment. Over the years, I have gotten to know some of the nail technicians who are lovely, respectable women who really care about their clients and take pride in their work. My nail health also significantly improved after frequenting this location on a regular basis due to their attention and care. I never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome in this space and was never up-sold on any treatments beyond what I planned to come in for that day. Honestly, this location was such a place of comfort for me after a stressful day and somewhere I felt I could really relax.
