Since I was in Hollywood on Wednesday on the 18th of this month, after having breakfast at Denny's, I noticed that there was a nail salon in the same shopping center. I have been here before, but completely forgot about it. Had no appointment and walked in around 1:30pm. The guy in the front was busy with another customer, he wanted to know what was it that I needed? I asked for a pedicure and the price. Regular pedicure. He said a technician can see me right now. I agreed and grabbed a seat on their nice, comfy, leather pedicure chairs that also gives you a great back/neck massage. This place is so welcoming, soothing, clean and very affordable. It's a full salon that also does waxing, and offers eye lash services. Amy, who did my pedicure was a lovely lady that was very detailed and meticulous, with my toes. She even removed the accesive ingrown nails from my toes. She was just FANTASTIC! When it was time for my foot/leg massage, not only did she take her time to do a good rub, but I asked for an extra massage. 15 minutes for $10 in addition to the reasonable, affordable price for my pedicure. $25.00. She sure earned her tip. Lovely Salon with a big size parking lot shared with different businesses. Has a gender neutral restroom. Also very clean. Charming decor all over.. I'm genuinely horrified by my recent experience. I Really didn't want to leave this review because I have been coming to this salon for about a year now. But last week I went in for a gel manicure and pedicure, as usual. The issue arose when I got my pedicure. The woman doing my pedicure was someone I've never seen before, she was older and I don't think she could see well. I should have known something was wrong when she was cutting my toenails with nippers and not nail clippers. But I am not a micromanager and I didn't say anything because I trusted that they knew what they were doing. She was tugging at the nails, ripping them off instead of cutting them. She was filing the skin around my nails very roughly and I politely told her it was hurting. I didn't realized that she ripped off my nails very roughly to the nail bed and filed my toenail down until she put callous remover on my feet. It was excruciating and I did start crying, I was also embarrassed. I then realized then I have several cuts on my skin and my nail was burning so bad. Two wonderful ladies finished my manicure and pedicure and were super kind. But I was extremely disappointed when the owner tried to play it off by saying he knows I'm "sensitive" and tries to tell them to be mindful when I came in. It isn't just me being sensitive, I knew something was wrong with my toenail because it was sore and today I took my sock off to find that my nail is peeling down to my nail bed. I'm so upset and freaked out by this and I sincerely hope it doesn't get infected. I'm on antibiotics just in case. The ladies who finish were truly amazing and I do love my pedicure but absolutely nothing was done about my experience after going there and tipping well and always being polite. They could have at least not charged me for the callous remover because they had to take it off immediately and didn't even remove the rough parts of my heels. read more

Honestly, super disappointed because I hate when people take advantage of you. I took my boyfriend for his first pedicure I asked for a regular pedicure for both of us and asked the price they told us 30 dollars. At the end we ended paying 55 each (whiteout tip) while my lady asked me about if I wanted to add 10 extra for massage and I said yes. For him they did the diamond package without even asking. To me that's very sketchy. We payed because we don't like to start a fight but I think it's insane. A couple months ago I stopped by for a mani for my Memorial Day trip. I had called in to set up a regular french manicure and let them know who I was and what I was in for when I arrived. As usual, the man at the front discussed this, in a language I can't understand, with an available nail tech while I picked out my color. I got the male nail tech that is usually there and he directed me to my seat to get started. I relaxed and started watching the TV on the wall while he fully painted two of my nails. I stopped him to let him know that I was in for french nails - glad I caught it early, I thought the details of my appointment had been mentioned to him earlier but all good though. He took the polish off and started painting my nails again with big broad strokes. I was worried my nails were being painted differently than I wanted them again since the last time I did french nails here, I had a different tech that did them with neater thinner strokes that hardly needed to be cleaned up (she was great! it was my first time getting french nails and this was only my second time). I stopped him and asked if this was the french nails I was wanting (I was in no rush so I just wanted to make sure). He looked like he was starting to get upset but he let me know that he's now fully aware of what I want and that that is what he's doing. He explained that he would then clean them up afterwards. A moment passed before he followed up with "This is not how they do it in Mexico" - I was a bit shocked. I don't know where that came from. No one was talking about Mexico, not him, not me, not anyone around us. This comment came out of nowhere. The next thing I asked was "how do you know how they do it in Mexico?" he chuckled at me and kept going. I sat there quietly feeling increasingly anxious, confused and upset at what had just been assumed of me. I am a proud Mexican American, born and raised in the U.S. I have never had my nails done in Mexico. I didn't let him know how I was feeling but I couldn't sit there and go through with the rest of the appointment. I got up and said I had to go. In my anxiousness I still decided to stop and make sure I paid the full amount - silly but it's the things I do sometimes when I'm in shock. I like to relax when I get my nails done. I try to ignore when nail techs talk to each other in a language I don't understand, especially when it seems to be a reaction to something innocent I or the customers next to me have said or done. I wanted to leave this review earlier but I couldn't bring myself to do it until now. I won't be returning to this place despite how budget friendly it is for the area. The folks at Nailington are way nicer and personable. I will be taking my business there. I hope Colour Nails Spa does better, especially towards people of color. read more

I love this place & have been coming here since 2018 so here's some good things to note: Parking & great prices! This is a hole in the wall place which might not be for everyone, but I love bc it's clean and a get in, get out type of vibe. Know everything is old and not super aesthetically pleasing. You also are not getting like amazing massages with your pedicure and manicure or getting great products and being asked if you want water lol. Some massages the techs have literally just rubbed the lotion in my arm for literally 3 seconds before going thanks & getting up lol. I've rarely had my nails look bad. I genuinely think they all do a good job. However, there are techs who do seem to be better than others. Some are chatty and super nice, but most of the time they don't expect you to talk which I personally love. They also 1000% do talk about you and other customers in front of you at times & I don't think it's always nice lol. It's quite obvious when it does happen if you're not zoned out, but I know some people mind it while others don't, so just wanted to mention it. Some have strong opinions on how you should do your nails and seem to get frustrated if you don't go with that (I've noticed it's more so the male employees). They'll just straight up act frustrated to do it and repeatedly say they don't think it looks good. I've seen it happen to others & it's also happened to me multiple times bc they for some reason really dislike a milky French mani or pedi lol Many many customers are regulars it seems which I love. I called beforehand for an appointment and was able to be seen immediately (I live in the area). Today I got a regular pedi by Hannah. She was very gentle and thorough and she read my mind regarding a callus remover bc I really needed it after not visiting for months. With my add-ons it came out to $40. The salon is clean and I constantly saw techs walking around sweeping. It's pretty spacious with a lot of stations but consistently busy so I still recommend calling even though they do take walk ins.
