Sugar & Comb is officially open! Although we've been Leslie's patrons for more than a year (and a few months in the new location), it was a nice event for an even nicer person. This is a bright, clean, tastefully decorated space. It's conveniently located right on Washington Road, making it easy to get to from anywhere. Leslie is a gracious, chatty person who puts you immediately at ease. No small feat when the subject is ripping your hair out by the roots. She is careful and keeps me talking, laughing and sufficiently distracted so our time together goes quickly and smoothly. The hairdressers at the salon do a brisk business, but I've not had the opportunity to patronize them. It is hypnotic watching them at their craft though. It's easy to recommend Leslie's salon, but I encourage you to go see for yourself the next time you need some 'maintenance' done. read more

New to the area and needed a Brazilian wax. This was my first time with sugaring--3 ingredients and similar method of removing hair. The owner has incredible knowledge on sugaring & she offers many services. Arcelli (sorry for the misspelling) did a fantastic job at my sugaring. She is very personable and easy to talk to. Having been an avid hard waxer for several years, I was very nervous to try sugaring, especially a Brazilian. I just moved to Augusta and was broken hearted to leave my favorite esthetician back home. But I was determined to try sugaring and was spurred on by the good reviews. Sugaring was amazing! I just moved to Augusta and wasn't sure if I would be able to find a good place to get waxed. I was used to going to EWC and there were none here. So I jumped on Yelp and found Leslie. Leslie does sugaring which is a form of waxing I never heard of. But her website is very explanatory and she is very accessible to answer any questions you have. Sugaring was definitely less painful that regular waxing but you're still pulling hair out of sensitive parts of the body so it's not painless. I will say the pain and sensitivity that comes after regular waxing is much less with sugaring. I definitely recommend Leslie. She is professional, sanitary and makes you feel very comfortable. Where can I even begin?? Leslie is amazing. I've been going for almost two years and it's the best decision I have ever made. Today was my third visit to Leslie, and my experience today is the reason why I decided to make a Yelp account. As the other reviews have already mentioned, she works quickly, is knowledgeable, has reasonable prices, and uses all-natural ingredients. These are all reason enough to give her a try. Be advised, Leslie is booked solid for the foreseeable future. When you go to see her, you will understand why. After moving in town and searching for an esthetician, I saw reviews and considered reaching out. Then I asked my sis for a referral, and sure enough, she referred Leslie. She was kind enough to work me in a slot that became available due to cancellation. She was quick, kind and professional. In my experience, there's no such thing as painless wax, but her technique ensures minimal discomfort. She also reshaped my brows, which were butchered by someone a couple of months back. Thank heavens I won't have to spend an additional 5 minutes every morning filling in the gaps with a pencil! When my brows grow out they are wavy, which is why someone just snatched them all out. Leslie was able to shape and trim, so they look great! She's good at what she does and the good conversation makes it go by quickly. She gave tons of tips and next steps to avoid ingrown hairs and other wax related issues. She even provided some antibacterial wipes I can use over the next 24 hours to prevent bacteria from entering the pores. I made a follow up appointment before leaving today. Today was my first experience getting a bikini wax. Well, technically not a wax but sugaring. I was nervous about the pain but I figured it'll be worth it. And, boy, was it!! She makes you feel extremely comfortable the moment you meet her, and she held a conversation the entire time I was getting sugared so it helped my nerves and I was able to relax. There was only a couple of times where it was painful, but not painful enough to stop the process or scream. I'm very happy that I my first experience with anything on my bikini line was a great one. I've had the same aesthetician for the past 7 years and developed major trust with her. When we moved out of state I panicked at the thought of starting over and the agony of going through all the wrong places before "finding the one" again. I got VERY lucky with Leslie. Having never heard of sugaring I was intrigued. I did some research and made my first appointment.... and I haven't looked back since. I have never had an issue getting an appointment, often same day. Leslie is so sweet and very good at what she does and makes you feel comfortable in the process. If you've never done sugaring, it's similar to waxing, but in reverse? The sugar goop goes on *against* the grain of hair, so application tends to be more uncomfortable than the removal. After she spreads a few "layers" of the sugar (by hand), she flicks her wrist and bam... hairs gone!! For those with sensitive skin, it's a great option! Less irritation, redness, and/or bumps. Also, less painful in my opinion. She gives her clients her cell so you can reach her anytime for those emergency and last minute appointment requests. She will work you in when she can, and often works after the salon closes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more
