Ignore the cranky review, which is by a Yelper who wanted to take a picture with his phone and was stopped by the staff.
That review has nothing to say about how good Suevia is as a bakery.
******************
Suevia is an absolutely positively outstanding bakery.
This is where I intend to get all of my bread and cookies for the rest of my stay in Alto Palermo.
How good is good?
It was our Day One in Buenos Aires, and we were getting basic fundamental staples for the trip.
I bought sandwich fixings ... but in a cloud of jetlag forgot to buy any mustard or condiments.
I had a liverwurst sandwich bare naked on Suevia's sourdough sandwich bread.
Bread.
Meat.
Nada.
Mas.
It was one of the finest sandwiches I have had in all my life.
The sourdough bread had so much taste, and was so tart, and was so light, that it was all the contrast the liverwurst needed.
A more perfectly balanced sandwich could not be imagined.
Because Argentine bakery bread is a freshness thing, you try to finish it before it goes bad.
The next two days I had as many liverwurst sandwiches as I possibly could ...
Each sandwich with that bread was a peak experience.

Now Suevia does not only sell bread.
They sell their own cookies.
Heh heh heh heh heh.
You don't technically have to eat all the cookies in one day -
Because they will still be good the next day.
But those cookies were massively beyond irresistable.
Pure electrodes in the pleasure center of the brain.
They sell other things besides sourdough bread and that tray of mixed cookies.
I see just a whole lot of exploration going on. read more
