For the first year I had him, I did not take him to get groomed, because he is a rescue dog, and I did not want him to have a bad experience. I took him to Amanda, at the other salon she used to work at, and he loved her. I instantly trusted her because she is sweet and gentle with him. The best part is she absolutely adores animals, and is a pre-vet student. She always fits him in, and listens to how I would like to be styled. I completely trust her with my angel, and could not recommend her more. When she and Bill opened their new salon, it was not a question for me at all if my dog would go with her. Amanda and Bill truly care about the animals they groom, which is why they are the only people I trust with my baby.

Personally, if I was an owner I would have a meeting set up ASAP to go over store attitude policies. Overall, from what I've heard the owner is spectacular, I would just hope that he would want his employees to carry the same time attitude and pride that he does for his store. The side room for cats is very small, with too many cat kennels in too small an area. The folks who work here seem friendly; Luke, in particular, was very kind to me and my cats. But the reception desk is in the dog grooming area, and chaos reigned during both my drop-off and pick-up visits, with too many people trying to do too much in too small an area. Super frustrating and inefficient. My cats were boarded at the Dawghouse for 5-6 nights. When I picked them up, the cat room was filthy, smelly, crowded with cats in individual kennels. I was told all cats had a chance to rotate in and out of their kennels for exercise time in the cat room at large. I have no way of knowing if/how this worked, but it seems a hard thing to manage with so many cats of different ages, temperaments, and health situations. At pick-up time, my two little boy cats were obviously stressed, they had lost weight, and their eyes & noses were goopy with upper respiratory infections, which required a trip to the vet. I will need to do a lot of traveling in the next several months, and I will be looking for a new boarding place for my cats.

But she was unable to do it because his skirt area had gotten matted and unfortunately it was more of a grooming appointment. Alex C took a look at Elvis and despite being swamped, she offered to shave only the necessary area and do her best. She did a great job! My grandog Tab, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel needed grooming and I'd been too busy to get him to…read morethe groomers, so i called Shear Elegance in Madison to schedule an appt. for the upcoming week. Surprisingly, they said go ahead and bring him in and they could do him that day (a Saturday!) When I got there they said just give them an hour and a half and they'd have him ready. Comparing this to taking him to one of the big pet chains where they charged me double the price and kept him for 6 hours (apparently rush service was 10$ extra and no one told me this) plus he was probably in a cage for a long time, What a great value at Shear Elegance. Tabasco came home looking great - didn't have to be muzzled, is happy and didn't nip or growl at anyone. I even got to watch the last few minutes. These groomers were really great with Tabasco and you can tell they really do love what they do! I would highly recommend Shear Elegance!
