It's worth noting that I can only review the laundrymat portion of the business; there are signs that advertise drop off, but I didn't use that. I *just* moved to the area. Like, we're still buried in boxes; it's possible that the boxes will achieve sentience and take over the apartment. That's fine, as long as they pay rent too. Unfortunately our cats decided to take the stress of their move out on the comforter...so it was time to start exploring local "large item" laundry options. Suds is closest to new-home. Some plusses: Lots of machines. It's 24 hours. The wifi works, and there are some plugs near the door where you can plug in if necessary. That said, there were a lot of minuses, and I probably won't be coming back. The store overall had a "yuck" feel to it. The trashcans (at 1pm on a Monday) were overflowing. I don't know if there's AC (but I doubt it), so I doubt it's very comfortable in the summer. The bathroom toilet was stopped up, and the overall bathroom was pretty dirty. And, surprisingly, there weren't any employees there the entire time I was there. What if something went wrong? If your machine eats my quarters, I want some measure of recourse. Some minuses: of their large machines, most of them had "out of order" signs on them. My wife and I started coming here a few weeks ago after our washer stopped on the spin cycle and left us with a washer full of water filled to the top. This is the 3rd time we have been here and let me start by saying that there is no attendant that works here so if something goes bad, oh well... you best figure it out on your own. Tonight is one of those "oh well" moments. We went to use a dryer and the dryer nearly caught on fire. It refused to spin but was acting like it was trying to. We opened it up and it was HOT like "you better hurry and move your clothes out" hot! Once my daughter and I began grabbing clothes out of it, we could feel the intense heat on the clothes like if it were dry clothing, it would have had burns on them and started on fire. We were out the money for that dryer because no one is here to issue a refund for it and we just used a different dryer instead (what else can ya do)? There isn't really anything to write on there that it's broken so I used a chalk marker I had with me to write on the front what happened with the date we were there. I tried calling around and was told there should be someone here but clearly, there never is. Last time we came here around 1am to do blankets, we figured it would be good and no other people would be here but there were 2 women and 4 men smoking meth and doing coke in the bathroom. They kept coming over to us asking if they could "help us" and we politely said "We're okay, thank you though" just to avert any issues and then we left with damp clothes because we didn't want to wait for our clothes to dry at that point for our own safety as one man had a gun and the other had a knife on their belt buckle. The machines work fine and get your clothes clean and dry pretty quickly but the fact that there is no one there to oversee everything is unsettling. There was a police officer in there (the first time we came) because there was a guy who came in with a knife waving it around at kids and the people who were there before us called the police to come. So... it definitely could be a better place but there are so many things that need done about these issues. There was a 12 year old boy hanging around today who said he was here last night and there was a fight going on inside. This boy shouldn't be here alone at night anyway but he was here today on his bike alone and trying to be all around our 6 year old daughter asking questions and trying to get into our car. We went inside, locked our car and just told him that our daughter couldn't play with him to hopefully encourage him to go home. He finally left after about 15 minutes and is telling him she couldn't play as he asked to chase her with his bike. I hope he made it home safely but we just got a weird vibe like something wasn't quite right. We will probably go elsewhere after this last time. read more
