With only a few days notice, I was invited to a soirée and my suit needed cleaned for a big event. I brought it in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was ready on Friday morning. I was nervous to come here to do my laundry as I was hoping to avoid "Lafayette's finest". I…read morenormally go to levee laundry because I feel decently comfortable there. I wanted to keep it closer to my apartment because I was in a time crunch. Right as I walked in, I looked around. I saw the desk where an employee, I assume, was supposed to sit. This very friendly, elderly woman asked me if I needed any help, as she noticed that I seemed lost. I smiled and told her I was okay, just that I hadn't been here before. I sat my stuff down and she politely said she would show me around. (She then continued to show me how to work a washing machine, which I found adorable.) She continued to show me things and asked if I had any questions- just as sweet as could be. I loaded my clothes and then a man came around and asked if I needed any help. Both staff members were both extremely polite and helpful and that lowered my anxiety of being here in the first place. The waiting area is kinda yucky, soiled carpet, toys that I would never let my children touch, and the sitting objects are outside patio furniture. I will more than likely stop by again when I'm in need of more than one load of laundry at any time. Regular machines are $1, the bigger loads are $4.25. Pleasant people surpassed environment this time, in my book.
