I switched to Metronet. What a relief. I can bring my own router and have not had any issues! But want to share the next conflict with Suddenlink: canceling. They are NOT KIND to cancellers, kept me on the phone for over an hour just to frustrate, annoy and upsell. "Do you want a discount? Would you like to try our phone service? Please hold...sorry for the hold, I can give you even better discount... oh, did I mention our phone service... we've had you so long and would hate to lose you...are you sure"... this went on and on. They kept me on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time. I finally flipped my lid and told them to cancel everything and I don't want to hear the upsells. So they not only provide horrible service but they are a PAIN IN THE ##$ to cancel. If you like having a headache, give them your business. read more

We had Dan - technician install our cable and internet as well as phone line and he lost our check, which is required by sudden link to hand over to the technician upon completion of services. Needless to say, we received a bill William $139.62 after the fact of giving Dan the technician our check because HE LOST IT. However, the company is giving excuses - that these things happen. *we have routing number and checking account number floating around somewhere! I give Sudden Link one star for ineptitude. 13 days later - the box was giving V52 and C133 code errors and internet connection. We called customer service and we verified name, information but the rep wanted a PIN...why? We didn't even get a PIN nor was told that a PIN was required to have your TiVo box sent a reset signal. Well, the tech did NOT show up for his appointment which a two hours window from 4-6 pm. Called customer service and have no idea where our tech is or even when he will arrive at our house. Update: so after speaking with a manger - it was booked for today - Friday, Sep.7th but the Dallas office booked it with the technician for Saturday, Sep.8th from 4-6 PM. read more

Suddenlink is a poor provider of television and internet capabilities. They randomly delete stations, I.e. Fox News, do not provide the internet speed purchased, and cannot support their products or provide I formation when you call, assuming you have the patience to wait for someone to answer your call. The television service is the same I had in mid 1980 with the old scrolling guide, limited online services, and no controls for the selected channels; not the standard box and service you would expect in 2021. Basically 1980 service with 2021 prices. It is truly laughable. There is a NC class action lawsuit against them for their crap services. I am actively looking for an alternative. read more

Generally good cable reception and viewing options and internet speeds. Had to call repeatedly to get the voicemail activated. Never had ON DEMAND work dispute two calls and a visit to the office. Waited 5 Hours for a technician to show up to swap my TiVo boxes since they really don't know why my ON DEMAND isn't working. On the day of the service call, suddenly I have ON DEMAND on the main TiVo DVR box (magically after 9 months) but still not on the mini TiVo. Finally cancelled the service call because I am tired of waiting! A wasted day! Missed the appointment window by 2 1/2 hours so far! read more

Do not trust this company!!! It took multiple phone calls and two trips to our bank to receive a refund when SUDDENLINK, without merit withdrew $150.00 from our checking account! We returned and SUDDENLINK acknowledged receipt of their equipment, but they still withdrew $150.00 from our account for the equipment. On at least six calls we spoke to SUDDENLINK representatives and supervisors, all of which stated the refund check was on its way... We never received a refund check. We finally filed a fraud case through our bank and after a month received the refund. DO NOT TRUST SUDDENLINK!!! Worst company I've ever dealt with. read more

My home in New Bern was flooded in September by Hurricane Florence and I had to move out of state with family. It took until October for Suddenlink to close my account, which was paid in full. I told them I was having trouble finding the equipment because it was in a mountain of my ruined belongings that workers had piled up for FEMA adjusters. Suddenlink sent my account to a collection agency after one month without even sending me a notice. Your disgusting equipment is going to make someone sick when they open the box. Enjoy! online they can service our street, they service up to the trailer beside us but continue to tell us "it's not serviceable right now" we've been here for 3 months and this was supposed to be done 6 months ago when the landlord requested it. why aren't they servicing our part of the st yet? When they re-arranged the channels recently they really messed people up. If you don't have a cable box then you can't get a lot of the channels. No more Animal planet no TCM and so on.Now if you want any of these channels you have to go get a box. That is just a slap for some people. Just another way for them to get more money! read more

You know. I wish there were words for the frustrations I have with this company. They have these commercials which are against their competition in eastern North Carolina; Direct TV. They talk about direct tv being unreliable in bad weather (which I've dealt with) and cancelation fees (which fortunately I've never dealt with when I did have direct TV TWICE. And honestly I'd rather deal with those TWO factors vice the constant problems suddenlink provides for my family and I. Suddenlink is a great internet provider. That's about it. That is literally all they are good for doing. They are great at setting up appointments and selling customers on packages. They however don't like to keep appointments and don't have the right equipment when they come out. They don't even try to rectify the problem of not having the correct equipment. If they missed an appointment day or time it's no sweat off their back they will just reschedule without telling you the day or time (not to mention the complete inconvenience it may cause your family). Their customer service across the board is awful, just the worst in the world honestly. I've dealt with credit card companies that have better customer service than this. If you call to try to fix something or ask questions about certain aspects they will transfer you or keep you on hold. If you want to make an online payment don't bother it doesn't work, ever. You'll have to pay by automated phone system. This company needs a new sales management team overall. I guess they never heard about maintaining commitment after the sale. I actually haven't canceled due to the extreme inconvenience it is to take an hour out of my day to get to the right person to cancel this service. I actually once threatened to cancel and the employee on the other line seemed unbothered by this, which is beyond me. If I were going to even lose the least bit of revenue I'd be concerned. Horrific service and the most unreliable Internet with abundant throttling. Customer service is nonexistent. Suddenlink was bad enough, but Altice is worse. Incompetent techs and rude 'customer service', if you can call it that. Years-long connectivity issues and the actual physical issue is repeatedly ignored by the inept and uninformed techs who have been sent repeatedly to fix it. Pay $125 for Internet ONLY. These creeps have NO integrity; they are liars and scammers. They decided they could just increase their rate by 30% and bill us, My wife got the bill, called them and told them that was unacceptable. She was told they had a cheaper plan so she agreed to go with that. The next month comes around and we are still on the more expensive plan. Wife calls Suddenlink and spends TWO HOURS on the phone, telling the same story over and over to each one she is passed on to. Finally she is told there is no record of her conversation or request and we owe the "assessment". The first time we had their service they wouldn't talk to me because my husband opened the account. Now, the box is broke it will be $60 to send a tech out or you can bring it to the closest store. OK she confirms address and states they are open until 6 pm. I pack everything up head over there and they are closed up no sign no nothing! Evidently been closed for sometime! So I come home check for the closest store that is open and it's over an hour away. I call back to speak to a Supervisor because I'm not going to be forced to drive over an hour or be charged $60 for a tech to come out! Some young man with no customer service skills will not put me through to a Supervisor unless I tell him who and what I'm complaining about. He keeps telling me it's Suddenlink's Policy! Had suddenlink a few years ago and when I moved back just 2 months ago I figured I'd give them a call. Well I got straight through but it was to their call center not the local office. They set me up for installation. Installation day came the guy was actually within his arrival window. But then it went downhill from there. Yes when he left I had cable and internet but what he didn't tell me was that he left a bright orange cable laying across my yard about 100 ft long. So I attempted to call suddenlink about this issue. It's amazing how once they get you as a customer you can't get back through to them. Then I got my bill which I was being charged almost $120 a month for a service I was told would be about $54.99 a month. Tried to call customer service multiple times each time staying on hold over an hour and never got through. Finally went into the Glenburnie office Monday 9/17/19 and spoke with a guy who calls himself JC. Well he was of absolutely no help. Says any billing issues have to be done with the company over the phone and proceeds to write down a phone number and says to call it and it's a direct line to the corporate office no waiting on hold. Before I even left the parking lot I attempted to call and he had given me a phone number to Capital One the credit card company. Wow. Amazing customer service is all I can say. They do not deserve even ONE STAR! They told us they would be there between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. I stayed at my place of business till 8 p.m. and they did not show. So i called them but they close at 6 p.m.! So the next day after sitting on hold for over an hour and being transferred multiple times, they rescheduled the install for an entire week later on my day off (Saturday)! I asked the lady on the phone what would happen if they did not show up at all again? She replied with "Well we will have to reschedule it again if they do not show up again!" Wasted my entire Saturday waiting for them, just for them to not show up again! Customer service was terrible and our sales rep couldnt even call back! Would give zero stars if I could. Just awful. Slow speeds even though we pay extra for faster internet. Also, we had landscaping done so Suddenlink came out and marked where they thought their internet and cable lines were. Of course they were wrong and so the landscapers ended up slicing through their lines. It took a couple of weeks to get the lines spliced but that was no good because the wiring was already degraded from the water on the lawn. So another month until they finally came out and replaced the lines. To top it off they charged me $60' for a service call to repair the line that was cut because of their error! Sudden link completely lies. Try to get cable for $29.99 as advertised. It will never happen. The real price is $50. They add $20 in fees. They do give 30 days notice for programming changes or rate changes as required by the FCC. Also they advertise 200 channels. What you really get is 40 channels that are listed on the guide 5 times. As an isp they false advertise again. I would defie anyone to come to my house and get anywhere close to the Internet speed I was promised. Horrible customer service. Rates increased without warning. Received a bill (which I have had on auto pay for 6 years) that this month my rates are increased. No warning and was told there is nothing that can be done unless I down grade my service to keep my bill at the same amount. The prices in New Bern far exceed internet prices across the country. I wouldn't give it one start its so horrible. Our back TV wouldnt even work because they cut the ground wire to short. I read all the crappy reviews, Suddenlink was the only place I could get internet and TV through for my apartment complex. November, they never sent me my bill and cut my internet off 4 days before its due date (yes my account was current), I went into the New Bern store to try to get it figured and end up dealing with someone who was completely unable to help me. She called for a man to come over (i think his name was Cronk or something like that) He was the RUDEST EVER, He didn't even try to help me resolve my issue, he was more worried about the fact that I preferred a paper bill over a the online, the fact that i prefer a receipt over paying online. I have had many issues with online paying so i like to have paper as back up. My husband brought this to his attention, he argued with my husband over this, He even talked about a older lady who has just left because she came in to pay her bill with cash and not online. Customer service via phone is just as bad but I was able to make a small headway with them. read more

This company has LOTS to learn about customer service. I definitely would not recommend to anyone. The people in the stores are decent and nice. The problem is not with them. The Problem is with the Company. They charge you for things you do not have, then when you go to the local office, explain to them you do not have what you are being charged for, they can only deduct a portion. It takes the company at least another month to correct. for example. your bill is 75.00 they tack on 22.00 more for a service you don't have. The local office can only take off 11.00. When you ask how can a company add 22.00 to a bill, that equals 97. you take off 11. that equals 86. that is still not what it should be. They have no choice, that's what they are allowed to take off. So their computer is controlled by the company. 3 weeks later the company fixed it. Everyone I have talked to many people in my area. They say, the service is terrible. Time to get Spectrum in here. I had them before, for over 10 years. They are a true company that respects and honors their customers. This company has only lip service about being a valued Suddenlink customer. Just try getting ahold of them LOL what a joke. Put you on hold, they always have the recording, we are sorry for the wait, we are experiencing longer than normal hold times, go to the self help online service. There you can't fix what the problem is. Don't walk run from this company! PS maybe it could be better itself, if the owners, and company would take some National Retailers Federation courses. Poor service and even poorer customer service. Our house was built in October of 2017, and half of our street had internet and the other half did not. I was told by suddenlink that it would be 30 days, then told 3 months, then told 6 months to a year. Their reason was Bc they wanted to save themselves money and do the lines for every house on the block all at once. 4 months ago I watched the newly built house across the street from ours get VIP service for complaining and had a line dug just for their house...by suddenlink!!! This house was built months after ours. I go in to store today and talk to the rudest young woman. She told me they'd be glad to run a line if I want to pay out of pocket for it! So I pay for them to bury a line and the others get a free line to hook up too?? Absolutely absurd. Loosing lots of customers that would've brought tons of money, only to save a dime. Lol also, trying to save a dime by trying to make a customer PAY OUT OF POCKET to bury a line!!! On top of monthly charges!!! Thanks but no thanks. Word of advice, get better store reps with better customer service rather than ones that say tough crap, or pay us extra to do what should be included. Never will I use suddenlink again. We have been on the phone twice over the past hour working with their "VIP" team, and still have no television, no explanation and no solution. Not feeling like a VIP! Trust me, Suddenlink isn't that bad after all... Unless you plan on doubling your bill for worthless TV and slow internet, do not use Direct TV and CenturyLink. It looks great and all the discounts make sense, but after 12 months both companies practically double your bill. For example, I started off paying about $55 for Direct TV and $35 for CenturyLink internet. Not bad for the package and it made sense since Suddenlink charged the same price for less channels and slower internet. At the 12-month anniversary my cable jumped to $105 and internet to $70 - and no, this was the basic package for internet and the select package for cable. Even after talking with the loyalty program, I still pay $87 for the entertainment package - which is crap. No chance I'm wasting money on the internet service which is also crap. My recommendation - stay with Suddenlink or Time Warner. If you choose Direct TV and CenturyLink, read the fine print (contract for 2 years, discounts only for 1 year). read more

I've had suddenlink for several years and the people here have always been great and super helpful. Techs were always on time and efficient. However when I bought a house in Fairfield Harbour I was told that my house was not able to be connected because I was too far away from the tap. I called and scheduled someone to surrey my property so a construction crew could come out and install a tap on my property. The day came and went and no one left a note on my door so I called to see what was going on. That's when this whole mess started. While everyone I talked to was very nice they didn't seem to know what was going on. After explaining the situation to several people I was told they would leave the construction crew a message to call me back that day. I called suddenlink back the following late afternoon explaining I was just trying to figure out what was going on. Somehow I got transferred to the head of billing and ended up hanging up and calling back to start all over. To say I was disappointed in suddenlink would have been an understatement. When I called back I spoke to an employee named Caleb who really helped the entire fiasco. He explained that the construction crews were subcontracted and that's why no one at suddenlink could talk to them directly so basically not their circus not their monkeys. Caleb did an awesome job of walking me through what was going on because at this point I was extremely frustrated with the entire situation. He was upfront and honest which I appreciated. read more

suddenlink has the worst interoffice communications! every rep gives a different answer. was told by 5 people (different departments) that "yes, they can install cable services at my camper!" then there is levi, the most ignorant idiot i have ever had to deal with who was disrespectful, rude and don't right unprofessional. he tells me, "we sent someone out there to look at it last week and it is unservicable!" i didn't request service until 4 days ago! (lie #1) just an fyi suddenlink already provides basic services here but you can get your own package for your camper! then he tells me, "a tech was at the line yesterday checking to confirm last weeks findings!" (lie#2) i am here everyday and have 9 windows in the front of my travel trailer and can see all my hook ups and have dogs who here everything! finially levi yells (yes yelled) at me and says. "i am dont talking about this! we don't services campers and no tech will service you ever!" before i could tell him not to talk to me like that he hung up on me! suddenlink needs a complete overhaul and i hope altice can revamp and undo the damage suddenlink and its reps have done. read more
