I rented my climate-controlled unit at this facility in 2017 because I believed my belongings would…read morebe stored in a clean, secure environment, as advertised. When the facility was operated as Dragon Storage and later Simply Self Storage, it was immaculate, and the staff was terrific. After Public Storage purchased the facility in 2023, my unit became contaminated with rat urine and feces. I documented ongoing rat and mouse activity inside my unit and throughout the main climate-controlled building. I was never notified by Public Storage of the rodent activity and discovered it on my own, despite being told that employees had been aware of the situation for 3-4 months prior to my discovery. Other tenants I have spoken with also told me they were never notified by Public Storage. I have documented with a Tactacam Reveal Trail Camera inside my unit. I have more than 500 images and videos showing rats running across the beams above storage units, on top of the units, and inside my unit. This was not an isolated sighting. It was ongoing rodent activity. The problem extended far beyond simply seeing rats. There was rat urine, droppings, and a strong urine odor throughout the building. My belongings were contaminated, forcing me to evacuate my unit and dispose of most of what I had stored. If you arrived before the daily hallway sweep, rodent feces could be seen in the common areas. What concerns me even more is how this was handled. Public Storage told me they have a "store at your own risk" policy and would not provide assistance. That was never my understanding when I rented in 2017, and I have never found that language in any of the documents I received. I also spoke with a customer who recently rented a unit in this same building and was told they were not informed of the ongoing rodent activity before signing their lease. If I were considering renting here, that is information I would want to know before making a decision. If you are considering storing furniture, clothing, family heirlooms, business inventory, or anything of value, I encourage you to inspect the facility carefully and ask direct questions about any current or past rodent activity before signing a lease. I would also ask detailed questions about the facility's pest control program. Two employees told me that pest control had been reduced. One employee told me that the level of pest control depends on the location's profitability. I cannot independently verify that statement, but that is what I was told. The City of Southlake Code Enforcement (CODE26-0192) currently has an open investigation into the conditions at this facility. I expected a climate-controlled storage facility. I did not expect to spend months documenting hundreds of images and videos of rats inside the building or to lose the contents of my storage unit because of ongoing rodent activity. Customers deserve to be informed of known conditions that could affect the safety of their stored property so they can make an informed decision before signing a lease.

I get a nice phone call from Christina (office manager), who helped me and put to ease on my storage questions so she invited me to check out the storage facilities and see for myself. While I am not storing anything expensive, more so sentimental (stuff like my little pony and care bear collection..I kid, jk) than anything else and I hate reselling my stuff due to hassles, I needed clear things out for more space. I met Christina and she was customer service oriented answering all my questions and giving me the guided tour with showing my storage space looked like. She went out of her way to go over and beyond with excellent customer service and professional by answering every question and alleviate any concerns. One of the nicest customer service attitude from Christina in personalization is she remembers everyone by name. She called one customer by name as she came in while I was signing the paperwork. She deserves a customer service recognition award for her excellent customer service she provided. The facilities is very well kept and very clean. I noticed cameras so it definitely made me feel secure. The pricing with my unit was very reasonable and fair for me. They do offer a referral discount too. They have climate controlled units and I would assume non climate controlled units. I would highly recommend this storage facilities for your storage needs!

I have two of their large units that…read morerun $235ish a month and have had an issue every month since I moved my household goods there as we it for our house to be finished. To start, the elevator ‍. You need a code to request the elevator every time. Mind you, you already put a code in to enter the gate, then another code to enter the building, then you need it a third time to request the elevator, over kill and a time waster, especially when you are paying moving companies by the hour. The elevator doesn't have a run/stop switch. Makes it hard to load an elevator moving in or out. If you prop the door open to fill it, it shuts the elevator down and the staff has to come reset it. I ended up switching one of my two units to a first floor unit strictly because of the time it took to do two loads up to the second floor. Issue two. I bought multiple locks from Home Depot so they are keyed the same. On my second month bill, I get a charge for locks from them. I called and said I supplied my own locks. Response was, there wasn't anything they could since I was already charged, but they'd credit me the following month. Good enough for me. Did they do it? Nope. Shows lack of any follow through. Issue three. Today I get a call saying they are overlapping my lock because they are missing a form. They have everything else signed and dated THREE months ago, but today they lock my unit, because they can't find it. Units are paid on auto pay, but one form on just of the units allows them to lock my goods up. Now they hadn't called me to let me know, before this, which is the professional thing to do. Instead, make it so I can't access it, even though the exact same documentation is on the other unit. Issue four. When I set up my units, I did autopay, just so I wouldn't be late or miss it, while we are in transition. They only auto drafted one of the units and I get a late notice with a late fee. I told the lady who I called that everything is autopay and that they took for one of the units, why not the other? Response has been par for the course, "not sure why, but we'll remove the late fee." I'm a huge supporter of local, small business, but in this case, go to the storage unit a block north and avoid this place at all cost. When I asked for a managers number or the owners contact to be emailed to me, since I'm on the road, I got a snarky answer from the lady at the desk and still no contact info. The owner has 5 reviews on here, the two good ones are a form letter response and no response to the negatives. That should give you an idea of the management.

It is at the top of the hill with parking for cars and they also have Penske trucks to rent out. Teri, the manager, is one of the sweetest people you may ever meet. Always smiles and ready to help and she will do anything she can to help you. The facility is always clean and well maintained and the trucks that she rents are always at top notch condition. Different sizes of units available and they also have outside RV parking covered and uncovered. The prices are compatible and the service is awesome so what else can I say that will make it easy to understand that this location is great. Beware, this is multimillion dollar company, that will NOT replace the damage that they do while moving your goods, and will tell you that there is nothing they can do if you do not have pictures or keep your damaged goods, like broken china and crystal til they send an auditor that will tell you no problem, your things will be replaced, or tell you how you can fix the things that they have damaged. I have been trying for a year now to get over 2000.00 worth of damage replaced and been given the run around. I am active duty army and they contract this company. I will forewarn you, get another company if your want your goods in one piece and you don't want to be given the runaround or denied replacement of your goods once damaged. I am moving forward to have this company removed from being a vendor for the military since I have found over 40 other individuals that have similar nightmare stories. The other moving company showed up after making the appointment and took almost 3 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment out of a 1st floor unit into their truck. Fearing they were just milking the clock, I asked teleport if they could just send man power to help move everything out of the truck up into the 3rd floor unit. Teleport was badass and running circles around the other company. They brought up almost all of the heavy stuff, without complaint and finished unloading the truck in less than an hour. The movers arrived late and there were communication issues with their team from the beginning. The onsite team's phones did not have service. The move itself was disorganized, and the pace of work was very slow despite being billed hourly. Several items were damaged during the move, and the job was actually left unfinished when the movers ended their shift. After the move I contacted the company to discuss the issues, but the response was very unprofessional, and the concerns were not resolved. Could not say enough about this awful experience, and lesson learned to not ever cut corners when securing a team to move your home. Save yourself the money and the time and go work with an established moving company - it is worth it.

Based on previous work, I was a repeat customer…read more Making the appointment was quick and easy online. Their prices are average for the service. They showed up on time. It goes down hill from here..... They literally scratched my windows!!! First they tried to blame the dog, who is small, 17 years old, blind and deaf. When I pointed out scratches that were too high even for a young, energetic dog, they just looked at me. Finally, I showed them a massive amount of scratches at eye level, on a full pane door that I had just had installed....A BRAND NEW DOOR WITH BRAND NEW GLASS..... That's when they called the owner. The owner showed up, looked at the damage and immediately started saying they didn't do it; I insisted they did. Had just one window been damaged, then perhaps who did it would have been questionable, but many windows were scratched and in particular the brand new one was very damaged, with the same kind of scratch markings, so it clearly pointed to them as inadvertently causing that damage. We went back and forth about it several times; the conversation was calm and rational. He asked me what I wanted to settle this and I said I wanted recompensed for the door so I could replace the glass or the door, (which ever was cheaper). The other scratched windows I'd let slide as they scratches were low and not that noticable. (The scratches on the new door were all at eye level) At that point, he said he was calling the police. I didn't think I heard him correctly, so I asked him again....and he repeated that he was going to call the police. I looked at him in disbelief and asked him why. (wouldn't you have???) He said he was filing a report with the police since we disagreed on what happened. I told him that this was their damage and what did the police have to do with it, to which again he replied that he was calling the police. I stared at him in disbelief; had he said he was calling his insurance company, I would have understood and appreciated it, but he was going to call the police!!!! I told him, "Fine, call them." I I literally escorted him to the door and told him to 'get out'. I was calm and rational; I was in a complete state of shock. They damaged my property and they are calling the police! My head was spinning. This was a simple customer service issue, that his people created and he was shifting the blame to me as if I was the crooked one. Did he think this form of intimidation was going to scare me into changing my claim? Well, folks, he did, indeed, call the police~~HE CALLED THE POLICE..... he literally called the police, who showed up to take a report. Even the officer was shaking his head. When I asked him why the police were involved, he said he didn't know, that he was just doing his job and getting both sides of the story. He took the report, I apologized for wasting his time and public resources, still not fully understanding what had just transpired. His best guess was that the owner would try to take it to court, saying I defrauded them by not paying the bill which was: 1. never presented 2. nor was the job completed and 3. they damaged my property. I'd include pictures if there was a way, but photographing glass is difficult. My thoughts.......the owner clearly knew they had damaged the glass and was trying to deflect and shift the focus back on to me so I would back down. Crooked, crooked, crooked. What ever happened to integrity??? I am so disappointed in such behavior....and a week before Christmas, too!

Had an insurance claim for a leak caused by ice maker water line, after being denied by insurance…read moreco for the claim and finally getting approval Paul Davis was assigned to do the restoration, I live in an older house and of course first inspection revealed the presence of asbestos so we were told by PD we could not enter the home for 3 days and that insurance would provide a hotel for my family and I during this process, that did not happen, next mold was found from the leak again we were put out another 3 days with no help from insurance, all of our furniture and appliances we literally taken out to the backyard and left sitting in the grass. Damage was done to the doorway and to the refrigerator, contractors hired by PD were an absolute joke, installing wrong tile in bathroom, replacing wall insulation with R12 when R14 was quoted to insurance co, I could go on and on. My wife and I spent over 60 days living in the house with no toilet, no kitchen and no communication from PD. End of story I ended up asking the man from PAUL DAVIS to leave my property with his contractor's and not return. PD left the house as is and I never heard from them again, not a single call from anyone at PD to find out why I asked them to leave. I spent 3 months redoing everything myself! If you can avoid this company I suggest you do.
