This place was so nice and friendly! The complimentary tortillas and salsas were yummy and interesting compared to a basket of chips because each tortilla was different or cooked differently. I think the lady helping us described them as blue masa, chile, toasted, fried, and dried. The salsas were very good too. I got the lengua taco and a breakfast bean taco to try out since I wasn't super hungry. The lengua was so tender and delicious. I typically get a flour tortilla but after the complimentary tortillas, I felt like I should have gotten their corn since it felt like they made their own. I also got their flan which was delicious! Let me get the bad outta the way because that's a very short list. 1. The waiter was snooty. I don't know if it was the way I dressed or looked, but he didn't seem very happy to serve his first customer of the day. 2. The location is a little "ghetto" for such a fancy restaurant. That's it! That's the bad list. On to the positives. OMG the food tho! I was upset that I had to pay $11 for one taco, but let me tell you, once the plate hit the table the magic began! The presentation was beautiful! I almost did not want to eat it because it looked so pretty. Then I took a bite...holy hell it was amazing! I had a Ratatouille, Anton Ego moment (if you have kids, you know). It was the best taco I've ever had! That's all I can say. They have new owners and revamped the menu. The restaurant decor has been updated as well and looks a little more upscale, but not where you have to dress up entirely. Beautiful decor and the menu revamp is really nice. Service was attentive and friendly. They bring out a variety of tostadas with 3 different salsas out to the table. Came in for lunch and i'm so happy I gave this place a chance. I side is filled with a bar, large tables and a few half tables/ half booths. We were served with tostadas and 3 different salsas which were very authentic and flavorful. Full bar avaliable. I had a frozen chamoy mango rita, perfect amount of sweetness and liquor! We shared the Civiche levanta Muertos- flavor was great however for 26$ there wasn't much seafood in there. We also shared the enchiladas de camaron it was so delicious, however I do feel the shrimp could have been a little more cooked. Sometimes you can just tell before you taste anything. This food truck at the Domain was a first time stop for me tonight after playing with my pooch at the dog park. I rarely order online the first time at a place I rather drive up to the establishment and usually that gives you a sense of what the experience might be. In this case the menus were a dead giveaway - not a generic taqueria food truck. This is elevated cuisine that happens to be served out of a truck. The gentleman cooking has to be a highly trained chef. He has a nice logo and inviting setup but let's face it we are there to eat. He has amazing vegetarian options (not my thing) but my wife loves loved the squash taco. I ordered a salad (again not typical) that was outstanding scratch honey mustard dressing with spinach goat cheese and cranberry with sliced apples and walnuts that are coated in something yummy. The taco pastor was good and large with a delicious tomatillo salsa. Simple. But the banger were the enchiladas mole - possibly some of the best I've had at least in the states. Deep mole flavor with sesame seeds and delicious shredded chicken. Cannot wait to go back. This is by far the most elevated food truck experience I've ever had! Food and presentation are phenomenal, feels like you're eating at a high-end authentic Mexican restaurant. Tableware is from Mexico and it's gorgeous. The owner Mario is the sweetest! He is from Jalisco but entrees are inspired from all over Mexico such as Baja California, Yucatán, Oaxaca, etc. We got the chilaquiles with chicken tinga, mole poblano chicken enchiladas, beef barbacoa taco, and blackened shrimp tacos with fresh mango. All were great but don't skip the Baja California blackened shrimp tacos!!! Those were a standout. One of the best I've ever had! They also have a special for dia de los muertos, the beautiful Catrina dessert. It's an art masterpiece although I personally prefer something more indulgent for a dessert. I loveeed the guava cheesecake! It's topped with a guava sauce and caramelized nuts, and was so delectable. Get the drinks! Nice wait staff, menu a bit deceiving as we both got Mexican coke at $4.75 EACH! He got 2 tacos- one was pork one was beef- says they were really good, lots of meat. Sauces good. Got corn tortillas, not theirs made (seemed he said), cilantro and onion. I got Guadalajara enchiladas and tried both red and green sauce, both great but I preferred the red. I have been there 4 times since they opened because the food is that good. They are always so friendly and the service is quick. We've tried the enchiladas suizas, al pastor tacos with melted cheese, carne asada tacos, the costilla tacos, and the honey mustard salad. All of these items have been so good that I've yet to even try the chilaquiles which are usually my go to. I cannot recommend this place enough- these tacos are beyond your average taco and the best I've had since living in Austin.
