We were pretty quick with our orders since being from out of town we look at menus of places we have not been before. The waitress was good about recommendations so I chose one she suggested. Drinks came. And then nothing. For an hour. We watched as a table that arrived at least 10 minutes after of two people and a table of 5 get their meals before we did. We asked about it at the 45 min mark and was told shortly. It was 15 minutes later it arrived. Now, a local we had asked about the place had said - foods good but expect to wait a while. I should have asked what awhile meant. 30 mins? Sure. 40? maybe. An hour....and others getting food after us, needs a better answer than shortly. As for food. Meh.... It was ok. I've had better by a lot, I've had worse by a lot. So instead of a 3 it gets a 2 for time. If you know its going to take this long going in, then you can expect to be there a long time. But if not, and you have other places to be, then this is not the place to try for a fast bite. Our friend said everything made fresh. OK but unless they went out to the creek to catch my fish for the sandwich.....

The wait staff knew everyone but me but that's ok because I am not local. I hear them chatting with customers about the weather, hunting, and local events. Felt nice and homey inside. Food came incredibly fast. The service is quick and friendly. My food showed up about 4 minutes after I ordered. Maybe I got someone else's order but it was what I wanted so I dug in. The gravy is homemade. I can tell because I make it at home. Eggs were perfect for over easy. Always hesitant when I say over easy because the whites are usually runny when ordered anywhere else. Not this time. Whites were just barely cooked which is perfect. The home fries were rough cut irregular sizes which tells me they are fresh and not from a bag. It's a basic diner with great food and service. Add home cooking and you have a great place to eat. I will be returning.
