So…read moreafter I made my online order I still had to wait through the drive-thru line I get up to the window and had a young gentleman who's customer service was subpar at best but nonetheless I know everyone has their good days and bad especially working in customer service. So after a few min he proceeded to give me food, no drink, no crackers, no hot sauce(all of which was specified on our order and on receipt) we also have noticed that 2 cheese coneys were also made incorrectly. After I waited at the window for over 5-7 min for him to address us again I explained what I was missing as well as the Cheese Coney's I, even offered to give him the incorrect ones back. He said OK shut the window and acted as if he was going to get them. After waiting an additional 5-7 MORE min woman came to the window extremely upset and rude told me that the only way I was going to get the 2 cheese coneys that I originally ordered was if I paid for them because she insisted she made first 2 right I tried explaining to her that's what my online order showed and I tried showing her my phone, she wasn't receptive cutting me off and continued being extremely rude and nasty towards my 3 children and I. I simply said OK I would pay for the second 2 and the gentleman got the rest of my missing items only now he becomes rude as she was while I paid and received everything and even after all that they tried taking back the original 2 coneys that were messed up by them to begin with, by that point I was fed up so I did tell themI changed my mind and I was going to keep them I mean technically I am paying for 4 of them at this point. I'd rather take them home and feed it my dogs then to give her anything. So even doing an online order although I was hoping to get a better experience from my local location I learned it didn't matter either way I just hope all the other locations aren't like this one I have attached a picture of my online order unfortunately I didn't receive a receipt for the additional two cheese coneys I purchased, so I'm unable to post a picture of those.

The young woman who served us was friendly, took our orders, and a short while later returned with our meals. I had pancakes, eggs and sausage while my son had biscuits and gravy. The pancakes were huge and tasted great. I could only eat about half my breakfast. My son enjoyed his breakfast as well. Several times throughout our visit our server checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. As we ate, more people started to arrive and filled in the dining room. At one point our server went out the door in order to help an elderly gentleman with a walker navigate the ramp and door. This is everything that a small town diner should be. I look forward to a return visit when I find myself in the area again.

Me, my one year old son, my father and my husband came to grab lunch at Mel's after a nice day out. I am biracial (black and white) and my husband and father are Caucasian. The moment I walked in, all eyes were on me. We had no greeting which was the least of my problems. We sat at the table near the door. Once we sat down, we were handed menus but not a word was mentioned to us as our waitress spoke with another gentleman she just handed a menu to. I kept using my manners and being respectful to our waitress but she NOT ONCE made eye contact with me or said a single word to me. Only spoke to my husband an father. To the point where she handed us TWO SEPARATE CHECKS BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO TALK TO US LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW WE WERE ON THE SAME TAB! While we were ordering my husband and I heard someone say "I didn't know we served people like that here" and "well we're all republican here." Now I know they cannot manage conversations that are happening while people are enjoying their food but it still made me feel VERY uncomfortable. Our food was okay. I got fish and chips which were pretty bland. No seasoning at all. My husband got BLT wraps and he said they were actually pretty good! My father had the meatloaf and he rated it 8/10. My son had the mini corn dogs and he seemed to like them. Pricing was really decent other than the fact that when we asked for ranch she brought over packets of ranch and failed to ask how much we wanted and also failed to mention there was an extra charge. I will not be returning. I felt discriminated against and that the service was horrible. Your food is not good enough to make up for your bad service.
