One of the best LJS in the area. The only thing that I dislike about LJS in general are the waffle fries. I've never cared for them.

We visited Knotty Pine On the Bayou on a Thursday. The restaurant is pretty good size. I didn't…read morerealize this until it was time for a restroom break. It was a long walk. The wicker chairs in the section to the left of the bar as you face the bar were unusually deep and low. Over time I think we all adjusted, but sitting in them definitely felt unusual. There are other chairs throughout the restaurant. I recommend finding a table with different chairs. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very efficient. We hadn't checked on the website, but found out Thursday is oyster day, with $1 oysters and fried oysters and $1.50 for Oyster Bienville. The fried oysters were delicious. The raw oysters were good, though I had one that was gritty. We are going again in two weeks and will try the Oyster Bienville along with other assorted oysters. Two of us had the special Pan Seared Sea Bass. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The crisp on the top was delicious and the fish itself was delicate and moist. It did indeed melt in my mouth. The potatoes were very good, though I didn't finish all of them. The greens were good. Mark had a ribeye and is still raving about it today. He ordered the preparation version made with just salt and pepper. He also had a cup of gumbo. He said it had an amazing depth of flavor. We wrapped up with dessert. Three folks had Key Lime Pie. I opted for Karma's Opera Crème Cake. Oh my goodness, it was huge, sweet and delicious. I tried a bit of key lime and it just didn't compare. That said, those who had the Key Lime Pie loved it. Not only would we return, but we have the date already scheduled. I'm looking forward to trying something different.

My servers were warm and welcoming. I opted for the fried catfish with rice and gravy and collard greens. The greens were delicious! The catfish was perfectly cooked, flaky and piping hot, however missing the kick of cajun seasoning I yearned for. In all, I found my meal satisfying and of good value. While there were a couple of services misses, the waitresses made up for it by providing me with a sample of the gator bites. All I can say is, "WHOA!". They were absolutely DELICIOUS and seriously the highlight of my night. The cajun sauce served with them is the flavor I expect from Cajun food. That said, ask for the cajun sauce! On your fish, your rice and anything that warrants sauce. lol Dine local.

This is going to be a quick review since its an update…read more.. I drove almost 3 and a half hours total to get to this guys food truck this afternoon. If that doesnt say how good it is then let me summarize it a little bit. The lobster feels Fresh, the bread its the perfect ratio for the BIG amount of lobster that they put on them, awesome flavors, great service and the price even though at first glance you may say its a little up there... LOOK AT THE PICS! They dont shy on the lobster meat, its well worth it. 'You wont finish the roll and stay with bread on the hand with no lobster, you may finish it and then use the fork for the lobster that fell on the plate' Highly recommend them!

I was super excited to check out this newest addition to the food truck scene. They offer Seafood…read moreand Italian cuisine that is native to Connecticut, which I moved here from. My first experience was so good, I have been back several more times. Just a great family owned business. Lets talk about the Lobster roll. I am partial to the CT style, which is with butter. Their version was amazing. The roll was done just right. The lobster was high quality meaty chunks and there was plenty of it. It was cooked just right, tender and not rubbery! It comes with a side of Chips. My second try was the Meatball grinder. This was heaven. The meatballs and sauce are fantastic. Again, great bread too! Also comes with a side of chips. Now when I saw they had Hummel Hot Dogs, a New Haven CT Staple, I about lost it. They even had the correct bun, perfectly toasted. Its all about those little details! I enjoyed mine with kraut and cheese! Next up, the clam chowder... it had a nice smoky flavor to it. Finally, the baked Ziti and side of meatballs, which comes with Italian bread and butter. This sauce is "lick your plate clean" worthy. The pasta was al dente and again, these meatballs, omg. They still have several more items I need to try and ive seen some test menu items that are hopefully coming up that look so good! Okay so get the point? If you are craving some real seafood or Italian here in the Midwest, this is where you need to be! Follow them on their Facebook or on Streetfinder to see upcoming locations! They also offer catering!

We stopped by after a visit to the Newtown Candy shop. We took some lobster roll kits and clam chowder home. They pride themselves on fresh seafood regularly flown in from around the world. Their pricing is double Jungle Jims and triple kroger. Can't say good or bad until we try the fresh fish. For example they have many types of Salmon from around the globe. $49.99 for Sea Bass is pricey for me. I think Halibut was $39.99 a pound and the salmon was $20-$30 a pound. They also make their own sides. The clam chowder had too many potatoes. On Friday and Saturday nights they cook a few meals out back in a small tent/room. Main items are Lobster Rolls and Fish n chips.

In fact, I was so taken by the owner sharing the history of Lobsta Bakes and all of the items that are made onsite, that I completely forgot to take photos with one exception: the menu! They have a small space to serve dinner on weekends with a menu that changes often. From fresh fish to chowder, crab cakes, Lobster rolls, sauces, pies, and much more, this is a place you have to visit! I bought some clam chowder, lobster roll kits, crab cakes and lobster quiche- all were fantastic!
