Parking is on street with a sidewalk to get you to the front door. We were greeted by the pitmaster as we walked in and told to sit anywhere. Seating is all booths with a few stools at the counter. Overall, the seating area is pretty small. They also do a significant takeout business. We looked over the small menu and quickly decided what we wanted. They have both pork and brisket sandwiches as well as ribs. We ordered a lunch plate because we each wanted to try a side along with the main entree. The food took maybe 10 minutes to prepare. This included cutting the frying the hand cut fries. The brisket sandwich contained a good amount of outstanding smoked meat. The flavor was exceptional. The baked beans side was good, with a bit of smoke flavor although I did not notice any meat bits included. The pulled pork was also very good and plentiful. The hand cut fries were excellent. I did try some of the sauces from the table and they were also very good. We spent a lot of time talking to the owner/ pitmaster. He was so personable and really seemed to not only enjoy making an excellent meal, but to see his customers enjoy it. We added a pin to the map showing where all his guests came from, which is all over the US as well as several other countries. The Pitmaster is known around the world and definitely has earned the recognition.

He got the Brisket and quarter chicken $26 with skillet green beans and smoke house spuds with $2.50 up charge for cheese and bacon. Overall everything was good. The pork ribeyes were cooked perfectly but the sweet bourbon glazed wasn't much more than a teriyaki sauce and very salty. They were out of the quarter chicken so they substituted it with 2 wings which I didn't think was an even trade. The smoke house spuds were good but the bacon was chewy. The ambience was nice, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Even though for the most part the food was good I don't think it justified the prices.

Original stained glass still in place and some photos of the building when still used as a house of worship. And yet, dining out has to be about good food. And Pig Candy delivers! I had the pulled pork and turkey. Both were perfectly moist and succulent (the pork had just enough bark in each bite). I ordered the red and gold sauces, but when my food came to me, the young man said he also brought a sample of the white sauce since it's his favorite for the turkey. He is most def an honest young man! It was a great combo, with the red and gold both sturdy and suitable for the pork. Many folks have many opinions about mac and cheese, but this was how I like it. The green beans had some sausage added for a great flavor, though slightly under salted for my tastes--and easily remedied with a quick shake. I'm not one in need of GF options, though I noticed them on the menu as well as well-marked V options. The pumpkin bar was a great finish to the meal.

Felt like I was at a backyard get together with the family. Service was pretty quick. The only thing I didn't like was how you have to pay upfront and of course they ask you to tip. Why would you tip if you don't know what the food and service is like (for those who are new to this place). Both locations are the same. Matter of fact I think all BBQ places here in Cincinatti are like that. It's still a great place to eat! Come check it out.

I got a tray with a pulled pork sandwich, cowboy beans, and coleslaw. The pork was very flavorful with just enough smoke for my tastes, and it went well with the barbecue sauce it came with. I was also impressed with the cowboy beans. Typically, I do not care for beans cooked with beef, but these had a good balance between the two. It also had different varieties of beans that I appreciated. It was savory and filled me up. Lastly, the coleslaw was also good but nothing to write home about. My lunch left me satisfied without being stuffed, which is often an issue I have with barbecue. The only complaint I could see with this meal is portion sizes. While it was a comfortable serving size for myself, I could see others finding the amount of meat given too little for their money and stomachs. Even with the sides, I considered this meal to be lighter than most barbecue I have had. After this experience, I cannot wait for a chance to have a meal at the actual restaurant.

Spent over $70 on 2 Sliced Brisket, a Brisket Sandwich and Brisket plate, with mac and cheese, a loaded potato, and a sweet tea... except the sweet tea pulled a Houdini and never appeared or maybe it got raptured before pickup because it never arrived. The sliced brisket portions were so small I thought they accidentally packed the sample platter or maybe the rest was still smoking in the back. For $14.95, don't expect "half-pound brisket". The brisket edges actually tasted pretty good, but the middle tasted like roast beef that once saw a picture of a smoker online. The smoked mac and cheese contributed absolutely nothing to society -- no smoke, barely any cheese, just hot disappointment in a cup. Meanwhile, the loaded baked potato showed up ready to save the franchise. When we called about the issues and asked for the food difference or a refund, we were told this is just "how it's supposed to be" and they can't refund food because they "can't resell it." Good news: I don't think anyone was trying to buy it a second time anyway. Really wanted this place to be great, but this carryout experience got cooked harder than the brisket
