First time eating at this Subway, another trip here, maybe. It is other deli/sub places in Vail. But this is off the highway and on one of the main roads. I did come and order in the afternoon and the meatball sub had a strange taste and the meatballs was on the dry side, like it was not enough sauce and not being stirred to keep them fresher. The young woman didn't seem like she wanted to be there working and really didn't understand what customers was asking for. Was the family from Kentucky that was placing their order and also my order. We both asked for things on the side in a small container and it took more than 3 or 4 times to explain and her to understand. A quick stop took about 20 minutes. Wow! I've been to a lot of subways and I also work in the hospitality industry. I usually like to be sympathetic to food and beverage staff but not today! The young girl working alone had a less than pleasant attitude and was extremely moody when I was interacting with her. Didn't make eye contact, no "have a nice day!" I was traveling through Vail this morning and stopped in West Vail to get something to eat. I thought subway was going to be a great idea, quick and easy, but that was not the case. We waited in the parking lot for ten minutes before 7:00am to have it open, which 7:00am was the posted time on the door. We waited about 15 minutes longer before trying to go in. But the door was locked, the lights turned off, the ingredient line was completely empty and no one was in the store. I even tried calling the store and no one answered. There wasn't even a sign on the door saying why it was closed. I also work in the food industry in Denver and know that this behavior and being a no show is very rude and disrespectful. I was finally able to get a hold of someone around 7:45am, after leaving to get back on the highway, and the employee who I was speaking to was very disrespectful and seemed to not care, when I explained my situation. I will got to that Subway in Vail again. This was super uncalled for. read more
