What a lovely spot…read more It looks like an ordinary coffee cafe spot but is actually a great place to come before a show atvthe Broadway Theatre. What I mean by that is - well, you know how red flags are raised when a restaurant has way too many things on their menu? The reasoning there is that there's no way someone can be good at making THAT many dishes. Well, when I walked into Calories, I just wasn't really sure what it was trying to be. The storefront looks like a cute cafe, the cash and display case make it look like a bakery, the bar behind makes it look like a homey pub, and the tables in the back make it look like a nice fancy restaurant. So I was pretty confused about what kind of place this was. Nevertheless, we sat down and ordered a slice of the toffee cheesecake and a slice of the Saskatoon berry lemon yogurt cheesecake. I had been hearing rave reviews about the toffee all weekend, and although the texture is perfectly creamy and crust is beautifully crumby, was it worth the $10 for a single slice? Not sure. The berry cheesecake had a wonderful lemon flavor, but it tasted a little stale, like it had been in the case for a day or two. Our server was personable, friendly, and very professional. A nice place to come once when visiting town, but I'm not sure how often I would come if I was a local.
A wine we chose , we had to ask for a decanter and it came rinsed out and all wet.

Yesterday we opted for sandwiches. My husband loved his Rueben, after we heard from the sandwichdad on Instagram they have one of the best sandwiches in Saskatoon (the Rueben) and the jalapeño popper sandwich caught my eye which was perfectly balanced with the cheese and jalapeños. The soup was a perfect dip to eat with the sandwich or alone. I liked my flight of beers I had as well and noticed a happy hour from 2-5pm on some days of the week that looked appealing.

We also had a praline morning roll (like if a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a wild night and spawned a tasty new surprise) and toasted coconut lattes, which were flavourful and nicely made - good glassware, plenty of ice in the iced one. My only minor gripe is that standing huddled around the one menu posted is hard on my middle-aged eyesight - I couldn't get close enough to see the options and I had to take a photo and enlarge it. It is an Italian sandwich shop with about 7 or 8 sandwich options to choose from. It is set up to be a takeout shop, but there are some chairs in front of the store. The restaurant has limited hours as it is only open for lunch on Tuesday to Saturday. Not sure if this was a COVID related decision, but sandwiches are premade and wrapped in plastic. You choose what you want and pay at the counter. I am unsure if you have the choice to get your sandwich freshly made or not. Using a premade sandwich operating model seems to indicate that there is no option to customize the sandwich. I grabbed an Italian deli sandwich and took it back to the hotel to eat. I would have liked the option to have the sandwich toasted, as it seemed like a sandwich that was put in the fridge. The bread hardens a little. I did love the basil mayo in the sandwich, which had a very unique and fresh flavor. I got the War Pig ($15.5), my boyfriend got the Double Rink Burger ($12) with 2 slices American Cheese ($3) and Back Bacon ($2), a fountain pop ($2.75) and we shared Garlic Fries ($9) with 2 Mayo Dill ($2.5) sauces for dipping. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger, he would return here again. A man of simple words The burgers are messy, so be prepared to use a bunch of napkins ! He was also very pleased about free drink refills. Our fries were delicious and had an extremely strong garlic taste. I think the fresh minced garlic was sautéd in oil and parsley, giving it such a strong and natural taste. Loved it. Especially because they made house cut fries! While the Mayo Dill was good, I only recommend getting the mayo dill if you get plain fries. My War Pig was phenomenal. It was a double stack of smashed beef using fresh chuck/brisket of a 80/20 % blend and I could taste it was good quality beef. This burger consists of side bacon, back bacon, bourbon bacon jam, LOADED with crispy fried onions, and topped with lettuce, tomato and mustard. Easily one of the best Smash Burgers in Saskatchewan. Wouldn't change a thing. They deliver on their promise of big flavors and generous portions, so you definitely won't leave hungry. All of the ingredients are high quality, fresh, and locally sourced. The lady who took our order was very friendly and provided excellent service. On top of that, the pricing was reasonable considering the portion sizes and overall quality. On an unrelated note, I wholeheartedly loved to watch Jurassic park while we had our dinner!!! I highly recommend this spot and everything we ordered. My only regret was that I didn't have room for a milkshake !

Absolutely unacceptable. While Uber Eats played a role in the terrible delivery experience, Fatburger chooses to partner with this service, so they're also responsible. If a business relies on a third-party delivery service, they should ensure it meets quality standards instead of leaving customers stuck with cold, unsafe food.
