Meatball Marinara - not my fave because there's no veggies and it gets soggy
    Kaylee C.

This subway is awesome! The ladies behind the counter were extremely helpful and made me a bomb sandwich. All of the veggies looked fresh, newly replaced and they were cut perfectly. For example the cucumbers and tomatoes were sliced thin, which I prefer. I ordered the Italian BMT (but it also had capicola). I added all the veggies except tomatoes and jalapeños and I also added the garlic aioli and creamy sriracha. On Italian herbs and cheese bread. Soooooo good! I also tried my friend's meatball melt. Not my favorite sandwich because I personally prefer a lot of vegetables and this was just cheese and meatballs. It also gets pretty soggy if you wait to eat it at all. The third sandwich is the subway club. Also really good! It has turkey and roast beef. Other sandwiches I like from subway are the sweet onion teriyaki and the chicken bacon ranch.

i can not believe the audacity of the male employee who worked 9/23/24! i placed my online order and when i seen how slim my sandwich was i decided to open ot and realized he went very skimp on everything and mind you i literally only asked for spinac, olives, and extra pepper. i passed it off and did not make a fuss of it. my husbands sandwich was super slim and i had to ask him at this point what was going on. i went to counter and spoke to the employe. he said he could not put extra peppers as asked. i found that odd. i asked him what about the mean there was hardly any on there. his reply was that he was going to cancel my order because $23 was not enough for 3 sandwiches that normally cost $7/$8 each. he began to act as if the product came from his paycheck. i told him to look at my pathetic excuse of a sandwich and he said thats how they make it there. i told him just give me my extra peppers and he was even reluctant to do that for me! what got me upset was his excuse that i didnt pay enough according to him and that he was going to cancel my order. he made no sense and still did not offer to remake or add or make it better.

If I can I would put ZERO STARS! I ordered 2 foot long sandwiches at subway tonight. WOW, SUPER SUPER DISAPPOINTING!!! The lady who made my sandwhich was very cheap. When it came to adding lettuce, tomato, pickle, cumber on my sandwhichesthere was bearly some. I asked for a little more lettuce on my cold cut sandwhich and end result was soooooo disappointing. All I can say was she was a cheapskate. When she rang me up I gave her a coupon that stated 2 foot long sandwhiches for 12.99. She ranged me up for 13 even. I told her the coupon stated it 12.99. Her reply was, it's just a penny. In the end she still rang me up for 13 even. I dont mind that it was just a penny different but you're cheap and cheating me!!! Stay away from this place if you want a better quality sandwhich and where they honor a posted price on their coupon.

Stingy with the veggies and increased prices-- my sandwich felt empty. Disappointing, especially when they charge so much for a sandwich.

Once your selections are made place the paper on a small black plate at the end of the counter right next to where you filled out order sheet. I usually go with a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich with pepper jack for the cheese. They have all of the usual fixings expected at a deli shop. Just circle what you want and wait for them to call your name. What made the sandwich stand out was the generous portion size and the fresh bread. The Dutch crunch actually crunched!!! I've been coming to Estelle's Bakery & Patisserie for years since I used to live only a block away,…read moreso it became one of my favorite places to walk to for tea and desserts. I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.

I was able to order the crispy pork banh mi this time. I did want to add in pate, but they were out of that. So I just got the sandwich the way it's made. I think the fridge with drinks was added since I was least here since I don't remember that being there last time. There is still plenty of seating outdoors and a few tables inside. Your employee did cough into her hand and continued preparing food without changing gloves. You weren't present, so unless you've reviewed camera footage, I don't appreciate being told I'm misrepresenting what happened. I have no reason to make something like that up, and it was concerning to witness. And I can promise I would not say that if I did not SEE that. She probably didn't realize she even did it. Separately, I understand that surfaces are cleaned regularly, but during the time I was waiting, I observed gloves being used to touch multiple surfaces (including the register and prep areas) and then used again to handle food without being changed. That's a basic food safety issue and, frankly, it was off-putting and it doesn't matter how often you clean your counters, it's gross. per CA retail food code, gloves need to be changed if other surfaces have been touched. Have you ever gone to a subway or other sandwich shop and seen the people take the order put gloves on, make the sandwich, then take the gloves off? that's the way it should be done if not staying at the prep station. I am not sure why I ever have to explain this to you on a review on Yelp. Also, regarding the order: when two of the three sandwiches were requested without jalapeños, it's not acceptable for the one that did include jalapeños to only have a single piece. I do not understand how you are trying to justify my review by even stating that two sandwiches didn't have them. and why does it matter which sandwich had the paper stuck to it? they were all soggy and cold which is why the paper was sticking to it. At this point, it's less about the initial experience and more about the response. It doesn't feel like the concerns were taken seriously, which makes it hard to feel confident giving your business another try, which I really wanted to do. That's disappointing, because I genuinely wanted to enjoy and support your restaurant. and if your business is slammed, perhaps the wait times on online ordering should be updated to reflect this.------------ I'm really disappointed to be writing this review. I had heard great things about this place from a friend who comes here often, and I was genuinely excited to try it--especially since I love bánh mì. Unfortunately, the experience fell short from the start. I live about 25 minutes away and ordered ahead, arriving a few minutes after my scheduled pickup time. I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my sandwiches, and then another 10 minutes for the pork spring rolls. What really prompted this 2-star review, though, was what I observed while waiting. The staff was working quickly, but I did not see anyone change their gloves during the entire time I was there. One employee handled the register, touched multiple surfaces, and continued preparing and wrapping food without changing gloves. Another employee repeatedly wiped her nose on her arm and even coughed into her hand before continuing to make sandwiches. It was honestly very off-putting and raised serious concerns about food safety. When I was handed my order, I was told the pork spring rolls weren't ready because they are made to order--which is understandable--but I was confused why they hadn't been started earlier since I had already placed and paid for my order. By the time I got home, the sandwiches were cold, soggy, and the paper had stuck to the bread. My partner said the flavor was okay, but noted there was barely any jalapeño, which was disappointing since that's a key part of a good bánh mì. I truly wanted to like this place, but between the hygiene concerns, wait times, and food quality, it was a frustrating experience. I hope management addresses these issues, especially around cleanliness and food handling, because that's something customers should never have to question.
