Here I am almost a year later since I've last been here. I can say there is a huge improvement in the inventory and stock of ingredients. I was able to order the crispy pork banh mi this time. I did want to add in pate, but they were out of that. So I just got the sandwich the way it's made. It was toasted and the pork was really crispy. I enjoyed the sandwich. It comes with a side of sauce, which I poured into the sandwich. Customer service was good. Our order was taken quickly, but we waited about 15 minutes for 3 sandwiches. No one was here when we entered, but a few customers came in after we ordered. The restaurant is still the same. I think the fridge with drinks was added since I was least here since I don't remember that being there last time. There is still plenty of seating outdoors and a few tables inside. Overall, I would give it 4 and a half stars, bit still round up since I think there is still potential here. I will have to try their shakes again next time. read more

You weren't present, so unless you've reviewed camera footage, I don't appreciate being told I'm misrepresenting what happened. I have no reason to make something like that up, and it was concerning to witness. And I can promise I would not say that if I did not SEE that. She probably didn't realize she even did it. Separately, I understand that surfaces are cleaned regularly, but during the time I was waiting, I observed gloves being used to touch multiple surfaces (including the register and prep areas) and then used again to handle food without being changed. That's a basic food safety issue and, frankly, it was off-putting and it doesn't matter how often you clean your counters, it's gross. per CA retail food code, gloves need to be changed if other surfaces have been touched. Have you ever gone to a subway or other sandwich shop and seen the people take the order put gloves on, make the sandwich, then take the gloves off? that's the way it should be done if not staying at the prep station. I am not sure why I ever have to explain this to you on a review on Yelp. Also, regarding the order: when two of the three sandwiches were requested without jalapeños, it's not acceptable for the one that did include jalapeños to only have a single piece. I do not understand how you are trying to justify my review by even stating that two sandwiches didn't have them. and why does it matter which sandwich had the paper stuck to it? they were all soggy and cold which is why the paper was sticking to it. At this point, it's less about the initial experience and more about the response. Discovered this spot from social media, and I'm always a bit skeptical with influencer recommendations but this one was spot on. We ordered over the phone and it was just about ready when we arrived. I finally made it out to Banh Mi Mi. It's right off Arden so it's super easy to locate. The store is small but still a good size given it is a sandwich store. The interior is super cute with the red and white aesthetic. Service was standard with nothing special. I wanted their special/ dac biet sandwich but they sold out and chose the braised beef pho dip. There's plenty of veggies and meat. I do not think it needs the dip as the sauces made the sandwich moist, however I did enjoy drinking the soup. After the mall we decided to get some grubs. My favorite banh mi is crispy pork belly and I've been craving it for months. Luckily this spot have it on the menu. The place is small but there's some counter seating and outside tables. There's also a pork bowl if you don't eat banh mi. My bf enjoy his chicken satay but I didn't try it. Was up in Sacramento and wanted a quick pick me up and snack so I came across this bahn mi place! I was super excited to see that it was only bahnmi sandwiches sold here (kind of like a subway). The place is kind of small with a few areas to sit, as well as seats outside. They have coffee, smoothies and bahnmi. I ended up trying the Vietnamese iced coffee, crispy pork roast bahnmi and the Smokey Sicilian bahnmi as well as the mango smoothie. Mango smoothie- 4/10 nothing special was kind of watered down and not much flavor. I finally tried Banh Mi Mi and it definitely lived up to the hype! Right off the bat, service was great--everything was quick, easy, and stress-free. The guy at the register recommended the braised beef pho dip banh mi, and I'm so glad I listened because it ended up being such a good choice. As many of you that know me well already know that I am a sucker for a delicious Banh Mi sandwich. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity in trying out "Banh Mi Mi". Located directly on Arden Way and adjacent to Bell Ave., this place officially opened its doors in early-2025. To those that remember, this is where "The Bubble Hive" once stood from 2018-2024. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 6/7/2025 at around 12:15pm. The parking lot exterior is shared with several other businesses in this small strip-mall that includes a liquor store and a florist. The exterior of the building is nicely decorated with the business name in large red block letters which showcases that this place indeed specializes in sandwiches and smoothies. As for the interior, it is well-lit but small while offering ample seating for roughly 10 customers. After glancing at their menu selection they carry a nice assortment of tropical smoothies, milk teas, Vietnamese coffees, and of course their trademark Banh Mi sandwiches. I ended up trying their "Crispy Roast Pork" sandwich (priced at around $9.75). This sandwich offers their pork belly, lemongrass Maggi sauce, mayo, and selected veggies. I will say that timeliness was not a factor as my sandwich was done even before I was done paying. After unwrapping the paper holding the sandwich in, I liked just how the portion of this was quite generous. However, everything after that unfortunately went downhill. For one, the Vietnamese baguette was rock hard while I almost thought I chipped a tooth. And secondly, the pork belly had a very unusual texture to it. It was crispy on the outside but rather gummy and chewy on the inside. In all my years eating these types of sandwiches, I was immediately turned off how strange this tasted. Even though I ate about 75% of this sandwich, I will not let one negative experience deter me from eating here again. The two young ladies were super nice while the interior was very clean and inviting. I think if anything, I would come back for their smoothies (on a warm summer day) while staying with my go-to spots in South Sac for delicious Banh Mi sandwiches. With that said and done, I am giving "Banh Mi Mi" just an average three-star rating. read more

They have unique offerings that are not typically offered at a traditional banh mi shop, such as the crispy roast pork. The crispy roast pork really is crispy! I was very impressed. First the dac biet banh mi, it was a good sandwich and I may get it again but if the owner reads reviews I would recommend two things. I LOVE salty food, the banh mi was salty even for me. Additionally I would make the shredded carrots and daikon cut thinner and brine it for longer this would help cut back on the saltiness and fattyness of the sandwich. I saw Banh Mi Mi pop up as a hot and new business and knew I had to stop by. I love sandwiches and banh mi are always delicious with the combinations of meats, sauces, fresh veggies and fresh bread. They do have parking, however if you turn off Arden down Bell the parking lot is the first turn, I ended up going down the second one that goes behind the Banh Mi Mi parking area towards KFC, it was a simple fix though and there is lots of parking. You can also turn off Arden into the lot if you're heading in that direction. They have some outdoor seating as well as a couple small tables inside and some bear seating. It definitely feels more like a take out spot though and there were a lot of people ordering to go. I actually think I stopped in at an extra busy time, around lunch right before 1pm. Thr staff greeted me right away, but everyone was busy making sandwiches or drinks when I arrived and there was a person waiting in front of me to order. I may have waited five minutes before ordering, which was fine since I wanted to look over the menu and decide. I ended up getting the Dac Biet Special ($8.75), the Italiano Vietnam ($9), and Shrimp Spring Rolls ($7.50). I wanted to try everything, but I'll have to visit again to try more of the sandwich options. They make the sandwiches to order, but had the spring rolls premade. Since it was busy and they had the walk in and online orders, it took about thirty minutes for my order to be completed. Everything was really tasty though! The bread was soft and fresh, the sandwiches were flavorful and the spring rolls were fresh too. I loved that the sauce that came with the spring rolls had a bit of heat. I do hope that once they settle in they add more spring roll options, my favorite is pork. It's still early though, so we'll see if the menu changes at all. I will definitely stop in again, but at a slower time. read more

Exciting to see another bahn mi spot in Sacramento. I got the Dac Biet which was pretty good. There was a decent amount of filling in the sandwich which was well seasoned and flavorful. The bread, however, is a bit disappointing. It definitely feels more like a subway bread roll rather than the fluffy bread I'm used to having with bahn mi. Service was quick and friendly, and the interior is bright and clean. Overall I enjoyed the meal, however I will keep my current bahn mi spot in south sac. read more

Yay! Happy to find the descriptions of the sandwiches outside the store and in front of the register. They were super helpful. Went in today and got the Smokey Sicilian. It was just ok. First off. The staff was doing their best. Hats off to them. They were working hard. But. The managerial side of things is a mess. It was 1pm Saturday when I came. They ran out the braised beef pho. They ran out of the Italiano. They ran out of shrimp for spring rolls. They were running out of fruit for smoothies. It's 1pm. This is a busy part of town. How are you running out? The other problem. The ordering. Ordering is easy. But there isn't an intercom or a board with numbers. Your number is on your receipt and it's so hard to hear them call out orders. Their receipt orders all sit crumpled on the counter too. Ordered the combination sandwich, grilled pork sandwich and mango shake. Grilled pork has a Pattie like texture so it's a weird texture. But aside from that. Flavor was good. Jalapeños had a nice kick. Could use more of the sauce. Bread had a nice crunch. But it was an overall good sandwich. The other sandwich was delicious too. Mango shake was good. Would prefer it being cold. But it's good nonetheless. Food is excellent. But running out of food when it's barely 1pm and the store opened at 9am is really strange. There's hiccups for new businesses but this was a major issue. Would I go back? Probably not. I enjoyed it. But not enough to want to go there. read more

Been wanting to try Banh Mi Mi since they opened but their location is a bit out of the way from us but happy to say we made it out. The store front is cute, simply decorated, and very clean. When we walked in the workers seem pretty busy with a couple people waiting. We waited 5-10 before our order was taken. The girls seem pretty busy but were friendly. We ordered the satay Chicken, pho beef, crispy pork belly bahn mis and shrimp spring roll. Everything was freshly made and our favorite was the pho beef Banh mi. There was a lot of beef in this sandwich & the pho broth was great! The crispy pork belly was good too. Everything was well made & worth the price. Only complaint is probably the wait but it was worth it. Recommend to all that love Bahn Mis and want something more elevated. read more

I love a good banh mi, especially since banh mi and pho basically run through my veins (I'm Viet). Coming from SoCal, there are so many great banh mi shops, so I'm always on the hunt for a good one in Sacramento (think Duc Huong). I decided to give Banh Mi Mi a shot since Duc Huong doesn't deliver, and I'm a tad bit too far to want to drive for a sandwich. Dac Biet: char siu and pork floss in a dac biet banh mi? Almost sacrilegious! I didn't care for the pickled carrots and daikon, which usually is a make or break it for me when int comes to banh mi. It wasn't quite marinated the same way that most Viet places do it. Crispy Roast Pork: I thought the pork belly was good and crispy, but again, the carrots and daikon didn't really do it for me. I love the acidity that they add to cut the fattiness of the meats. Overall, I thought the sandwiches here were just ok, but they're definitely not the worst I've had in Sacramento. read more
