Here I am almost a year later since I've last been here. I can say there is a huge improvement in the inventory and stock of ingredients. I was able to order the crispy pork banh mi this time. I did want to add in pate, but they were out of that. So I just got the sandwich the way it's made. It was toasted and the pork was really crispy. I enjoyed the sandwich. It comes with a side of sauce, which I poured into the sandwich. Customer service was good. Our order was taken quickly, but we waited about 15 minutes for 3 sandwiches. No one was here when we entered, but a few customers came in after we ordered. The restaurant is still the same. I think the fridge with drinks was added since I was least here since I don't remember that being there last time. There is still plenty of seating outdoors and a few tables inside. Overall, I would give it 4 and a half stars, bit still round up since I think there is still potential here. I will have to try their shakes again next time.
I was looking forward to enjoying a banh mi sandwich closer to Home than driving down to South Sac at duc houng The sandwich today had some strange mayonnaise. A sweet sauce on the side and the vegetables did not seem pickled. I had the crispy pork. The pork was tasty. There were giant pieces of jalapeño, and the sandwich just did not satisfy. The service was uninspiring and mediocre. The restaurant was cute inside.
My wife gave them 5 stars but for me, it was 4 stars. So with an average of 4.5 stars, I rounded you up to 5 stars. :) Quality/Quantity - We are always supporting the locals. Went out of our way to visit. And it was further away from 80 than I thought, but still worth the visit. Interesting menu, in a positive way. I look forward to trying it. Today we shared a Braised Beef Pho Dip with chips. Made to order. So GOOD!! My wife's favorite beef is braised beef. It was so tender, we did not even need the dip! And of course, the chips were also good. Next visit, I am getting the Smokey Sicilian, Tri Tip Sandwich. My wife and I are such light eaters that I did not want to get two sandwiches on this trip and have leftovers.. Smoothies, special drinks, and sides are also available. Ambiance - Small local business. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cool decor. So much white and red. No restrooms. Plenty of parking, but we ended up next door at the KFC parking lot. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 7pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm. Service - Counters service. They took a minute, but then warmed up to me. Price - $12, expensive, but worth it for the quality. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since early last year 2025.
Went here two times now, and I been blown away each time. Their braised beef dip, is simply divine. The beef is so soft, juicy and aromatic, and the pickled veggies pair beautifully with it. The sandwich comes with a pho dip, admittedly it's a bit messy dipping it, so I just sip it. Frigging delicious as well. Each time we visited, we ordered via phone first and they the staff were most courteous and our food came out quite fast. The interior is bright, white, and clean and there's also some seating outside as well. Will have to come back again and try some of their other sandwiches as well

I do t know why it took me soo long to come here. I got the braised beef pho Bahn mi and it changed my life. sooooooooo freaken good. It was juicy, fresh and just heavenly on each bite. I got the Chicken Satay with the peanut sauce and it was really good. More similar to a standard Bahn Mi. Lastly I got the Italiano was a umami bomb. Such an amazing fusion!!! I listened to the hype of this place and it blew my expectations out of the water.
After the mall we decided to get some grubs. My favorite banh mi is crispy pork belly and I've been craving it for months. Luckily this spot have it on the menu. The place is small but there's some counter seating and outside tables. There's also a pork bowl if you don't eat banh mi. My bf enjoy his chicken satay but I didn't try it. My crispy pork banh mi was so good! They have some sauce that's is lightly creamy and a tiny bit spicy with the jalapeno. It's perfectly crunchy and hot . Would definitely recommend. We don't come up this way too often but I'd be trying to come back for sure. There's a lot of smoothies flavor as well. Service is fine. They were nice and the banh mi relatively quick.
I finally tried Banh Mi Mi and it definitely lived up to the hype! Right off the bat, service was great--everything was quick, easy, and stress-free. The guy at the register recommended the braised beef pho dip banh mi, and I'm so glad I listened because it ended up being such a good choice. The banh mi was so flavorful and packed with meat (like really packed). It also came with a side of soup for dipping, which I thought was such a fun and creative idea. The soup itself was a little salty on its own, but that makes total sense since it's meant to be dipped with the sandwich to really bring all the flavors together. Dipping was slightly tricky because the sandwich was so full, but honestly... I loved the concept and wouldn't change it. I did take it to go, so by the time I got home the bread was a bit soggy--definitely something that's best eaten fresh at the restaurant. I also ordered the Ocean Piña Colada, and it was sooo good. All their drinks are made at 25% sweetness, which was perfect. I could taste every flavor, and it was super refreshing without being too sweet or heavy. Overall, such a cute spot with great food, great service, and fun drinks. I'd 100% come back again and can't wait to try more next time!
I've been meaning to try this place for some time now, fortunately for me, I was in the area today... and hungry! I got the braised beef pho sandwich. I love the concept and the flavor was there. It was super savory. My bread did get very soggy very fast when dipping my sandwich and that didn't work for me. The customer service was great! I didn't know exactly what I wanted to drink but got some advice from the young lady behind the counter. I got the Pumpkin thai tea and it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back to try some of the other things on the menu.
Food: WOW. This place has officially ruined all other banh mi spots for me - in the best way possible. I ordered the Chicken Satay Banh Mi, and it was easily the most delicious banh mi I've ever had (even compared to the authentic and TikTok-famous spots in South Sac I've tried!). The chicken was incredibly marinated and packed with flavor, coated in a slightly sweet peanut-style sauce that I was hesitant about at first, but it ended up being so good. The sandwich was absolutely loaded with both protein and veggies, and the bread was perfectly toasted - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held everything together beautifully. One thing to note: they use Serrano peppers instead of the traditional jalapeños, so it packs a little extra heat--but still super flavorful and enjoyable. Ordering & Pickup: I placed my order online through DoorDash for a quick lunch pickup. The banh mi was ready right on time when I arrived, which made the whole experience super convenient. Service: The staff were very friendly and attentive during pickup. Even though I ordered online, the in-person experience still felt warm and welcoming. Ambiance: This is a very casual spot with only about 4-5 tables inside. It's definitely more of a takeout-style place, but still clean and inviting if you want to dine in quickly. Drinks: They offer a selection of healthy smoothies that looked really good. I didn't grab one this time, but I'm definitely planning to try one on my next visit. Overall: I already can't wait to come back for another banh mi. This spot is a gem - fresh, flavorful, and now officially my go-to banh mi place. Highly recommend!
I have passed by this shop multiple times driving home, and finally took the opportunity to stop in during a random weekday for lunch. I ordered the Braised Beef Pho Dip Banh Mi and Thai Iced Tea. I appreciated that fact that all the sandwiches were made to order, so it was fresh and warm by the time I drove back home to eat it. Surprisingly, the highlight of the sandwich was the pho broth. It was flavorful and perfectly complimented the sandwich. Shout out to single person who was in the shop pushing out orders by himself! He was short staffed, but did his best to make sure everyone received their orders as quickly as possible. Even offered free chips for the delay. I will definitely be back to try more items on their menu!
So we rolled up 15 mins to closing so we were lucky but bummed lol! Lucky cause they still had sandwiches Bummed because we couldn't eat inside and they were out of the pork bowl and the appetizers so we went with the flow! Pho dip is FIRE!! Oh my gosh get it extra crunchy and man I tell you what it was so good I could have gotten a second one! The pho broth is so dang good I wish they did ramen for sure I tried a sip and man so so good it's making my mouth water. Pork - it was good but not like the Pho dip! The sauce that came with it was a little spicy but really made the sandwich for me. Got it extra crispy and dipped in the Pho too and it was a bit better! I would say we are going back - it was worth the drive and man next time order two!!! So so good - they do a Banh Mi right! Can't wait to return!
Discovered this spot from social media, and I'm always a bit skeptical with influencer recommendations but this one was spot on. We ordered over the phone and it was just about ready when we arrived. The inside was very cute and there was outdoor seating too. We got the bahn mi french dip it comes with pho broth to dip in. It was a huge sandwich and super affordable. The bread was crispy in a way that complimented the sandwich well and didn't cut up your mouth. Overall it was the perfect fusion a delicious bahn mi with pho, peak comfort food. Can't wait for my next sandwich!
So a local food reviewer on IG recently did this thing online where he visited many local Banh Mi shops in Sacramento and of course he ranked them. Well he ranked this one very high, in fact it was his number one-so I had to check it out. The shop is located on Arden Way at a small little nondescript strip mall but they do have plenty of parking,so no issue there. Walking up to the shop they do have a few tables on an outside patio for customers to enjoy. Inside the shop it's very clean with a familiar color scheme-thinking In-N-Out/Five Guys.It's very nice in there. The two workers inside were very efficient, the cashier was overly friendly and welcoming and the other,the sandwich maker, was just quietly grinding out sandwiches the entire time-I appreciated that. They have pretty good menu options but I kind of just went traditional with my lunch order. I ordered a crispy pork banh mi.(10.95) I also ordered both the pork and shrimp spring rolls($4.00 x 2 )to try. It wasn't super busy during this lunchtime so I got my order pretty fast,probably under 12 minutes I would say. Let's talk about the food. I always tell people if I had a personal chef,I would have them make me spring rolls every day for my afternoon snack-I love them so much,so I had high hopes for these. The meat on the pork spring rolls was pretty hearty and kind of took over the spring roll but it was still pretty tasty. The shrimp spring rolls though were a standout, the natural taste of the shrimp along with the other fresh ingredients made the shrimp version stand out. I'm relatively new to the world of Banh Mi but in a very short time I feel like I'm all in and have tried more than a few places and definitely have my favorites,when it comes to bread selections and fillings,but I'm still figuring out my palate in the vast banh mi world. That being said-I really loved this banh mi. It was put together so well,pork was well seasoned and crispy,a nice amount of fresh,snappy,yummy veggies and the bread tasted very fresh. I won't say it's my favorite banh mi, because my number #1 spot is pretty locked up but I really enjoyed the sandwich here. This place is so close to my work,I can easily see it becoming my "Go-To" spot for banh mi. I 100% recommend this shop. read more

ORDERED: Crispy Roast Pork Banh Mi I don't usually think of banh mi when I'm in the Arden area but I would go out of my way to come get this again! The crispy roast pork banh mi was so delicious & flavorful! The bread was fresh, light, & airy. The pork was seasoned well, crispy, & juicy. It tasted refreshing. As someone who always orders extra pate, I was sad when it didn't originally come with it but the Maggi lemongrass sauce is delicious, bold, sweet, & tangy. It complimented the banh mi very well & didn't need pate at all. I appreciate that the sauce came on the side as someone who prefers savory meats over sweet meats. I ended up using the sauce for every bite. The drinks looked interesting but I didn't order one since I already had a drink. Would try one next time. The place was clean & the staff was friendly! I finally made it out to Banh Mi Mi. It's right off Arden so it's super easy to locate. The store is small but still a good size given it is a sandwich store. The interior is super cute with the red and white aesthetic. Service was standard with nothing special. I wanted their special/ dac biet sandwich but they sold out and chose the braised beef pho dip. There's plenty of veggies and meat. I do not think it needs the dip as the sauces made the sandwich moist, however I did enjoy drinking the soup. Overall a solid 8.5/10 and I would be back to try other banh mi's but only if I was in the area. read more
we arrived right at 10am on a Sunday. There was a delay with the bread delivery. so we ended up waiting a little bit. was offered a vietnamese coffee and smoothie on the house for the wait. Very nice of the owner and worker. they felt bad for the long delay. when we were about to leave the bread came! so why not we were already there. ordered the chicken satay (very spicy) and the pho broth (dip). both were good! we wanted to try something different and it was. read more

Nice cozy spot and good music for banh mi. Service was friendly, fast, and professional. We ordered the Dac Biet "Special" and the Italiano Vietnam. They were both tasty. The Italiano can be a bit sour from the abundant pickled carrots and daikon so if you're not into sour food, I would choose a different option. The Dat Biet "Special" was good and fatty. The abundant part with that braised pork and shredded dried pork gave it a nice touch in contrast to the pickled carrots and daikon. Overall, solid spot for a variety of different banh mi subs. Gonna have to come try the others. Does not have bathroom so be sure to bring some wet wipes or make sure you can get to the restroom somewhere if needed. read more

Banh Mi sandwiches and smoothies? Where do I sign? My girlfriend came home with a Pork Banh Mi sandwiched sandwich and a white smoothie with blue swirling. And instantly I was interested, lol. She decided to go again the next for lunch for the both of us, and between the two days we had the following: Smoothies: Sleeping Beauty Ocean Piña Colada Sandwiches: Pork Banh Mi I have to be honest and say Banh Mi Mi's Pork Band Mi sandwich, is probably the best Banh Mi sandwich I've ever heard. Just look at those close up photos I took...look at that Pork...like WHOA! They're using that good pork belly section for their choice of meat. And that sauce that have...WOW! I just drizzled it throughout the sandwich, but it's the cherry on top of this sandwich. And that Sleeping Beauty smoothie with the dress dates is really good and a nice touch. Overall: Look out Sac, there's a new Banh Mi sandwich spot in town. Definitely check this place out, and I'll definitely be back again for more. read more

Pretty interesting spot for Vietnamese Banh mi, but nevertheless, I had the chance to try it. The banh mi options aren't what you'd expect. This is like a fusion sort of banh mi sandwich spot. For example, I got the crispy pork banh mi with an avocado smoothie. It was a banh mi sandwich filled with almost like lechon meat. It tasted delicious. I enjoyed it. The avocado smoothie on the other hand was less than impressive. It wasn't a smoothie as it was blended pure avocado with some condensed milk or sugar? It was super hard to drink out of the straw and personally wasn't sweet enough. I won't dock the place for drinks though. read more

Was up in Sacramento and wanted a quick pick me up and snack so I came across this bahn mi place! I was super excited to see that it was only bahnmi sandwiches sold here (kind of like a subway). The place is kind of small with a few areas to sit, as well as seats outside. They have coffee, smoothies and bahnmi. I ended up trying the Vietnamese iced coffee, crispy pork roast bahnmi and the Smokey Sicilian bahnmi as well as the mango smoothie. Mango smoothie- 4/10 nothing special was kind of watered down and not much flavor. Most likely would just go to another establishment if I wanted a smoothie Iced coffee- 5/10 once again nothing special. Wasn't horrible but wasn't the best. The flavor was a bit too watery for my liking of viet coffee. Both sandwiches were pretty good. Pretty good size. The customer service was good. The biggest disappointment for me was the fact that I had already spent like 40+ dollars here and when I asked for a cup of water, they said that the establishment Dosent give cup of water nor did they have water to give or sell at the time??? I've NEVER been to any establishment that has denied selling water or giving water so this was dissapointing. read more

The interior looks clean and well lit with indoor and outdoor seating available. They have plenty of drink options from blended drinks to sodas to sparkling waters. The ladies working were nice & food came out fairly quickly! read more

We finally made it in!!!! After shopping at Arden Fair Mall we decided to stop in for lunch. We were immediately greeted by the lady working. We ordered a Tofu Banh Mi, Thai Milk Tea and Vietnamese Coffee. We sat inside and waited for our order. There's also seating outside if you prefer. The Tofu Banh Mi came on a soft roll and with a yummy dipping sauce. My daughter loved her Thai Milk Tea! We can't wait to go back! 10/10 read more

My wife ran across a TikTok from taste duo about this sandwich shop. So she insisted that we should try it, and since I love bahn mi she didn't have to try so hard lol! As far as ambiance, it's a cute little sandwich shop that gives you the option to eat inside or on the patio right outside... the young lady who helped us was sweet, friendly and helpful... she suggested the ocean smoothie and that was a home run! The real star of the show was the sandwich! Holy moley, I knew it was going to be a good sandwich, but this blew my socks off! The bread was fresh, the veggies fresh and pickled, the beef was so tender it was basically jello. If I could give it 50 I would. Definitely coming to try other sandwich. read more

As many of you that know me well already know that I am a sucker for a delicious Banh Mi sandwich. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity in trying out "Banh Mi Mi". Located directly on Arden Way and adjacent to Bell Ave., this place officially opened its doors in early-2025. To those that remember, this is where "The Bubble Hive" once stood from 2018-2024. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 6/7/2025 at around 12:15pm. The parking lot exterior is shared with several other businesses in this small strip-mall that includes a liquor store and a florist. The exterior of the building is nicely decorated with the business name in large red block letters which showcases that this place indeed specializes in sandwiches and smoothies. As for the interior, it is well-lit but small while offering ample seating for roughly 10 customers. After glancing at their menu selection they carry a nice assortment of tropical smoothies, milk teas, Vietnamese coffees, and of course their trademark Banh Mi sandwiches. I ended up trying their "Crispy Roast Pork" sandwich (priced at around $9.75). This sandwich offers their pork belly, lemongrass Maggi sauce, mayo, and selected veggies. I will say that timeliness was not a factor as my sandwich was done even before I was done paying. After unwrapping the paper holding the sandwich in, I liked just how the portion of this was quite generous. However, everything after that unfortunately went downhill. For one, the Vietnamese baguette was rock hard while I almost thought I chipped a tooth. And secondly, the pork belly had a very unusual texture to it. It was crispy on the outside but rather gummy and chewy on the inside. In all my years eating these types of sandwiches, I was immediately turned off how strange this tasted. Even though I ate about 75% of this sandwich, I will not let one negative experience deter me from eating here again. The two young ladies were super nice while the interior was very clean and inviting. I think if anything, I would come back for their smoothies (on a warm summer day) while staying with my go-to spots in South Sac for delicious Banh Mi sandwiches. With that said and done, I am giving "Banh Mi Mi" just an average three-star rating. read more

After seeing raving reviews of Banh Mi Mi, we decided to try it out and understand the hype! I've heard of this place since the owner was a home chef, so it has been on my radar for awhile. The restaurant is located at the busy area of Arden Way but there is plenty of parking in the back. Upon entering the store, I was greeted with warm welcomes and they kindly answered any questions I had about the menu since it was my first time there. Inside the restaurant was clean and had many open seating (tables or the bar). The decor reminded me of the old school, retro cafes so that was cool and matched with the store's brand/graphic. Love it! I ordered 2 banh mi's- roast pork and the combo (dac biet). The roast pork was sooo good, nothing like I had before. It even retained its crispiness after the 30 min drive home! They included sauce for the roast pork, which made it even more savory. The combo was standard, but still yummy. Something unique about the combo was the addition of pork floss! I haven't seen that before so it added a nice touch. I do wish there was more pate throughout the sandwich. Since most of the pate was at the end of the sandwich, the last bites were a bit salty. But not a deal breaker, we still enjoyed every bite! We'll be back to try more items and smoothies! read more
What a cool concept! The shop itself is very clean and cute. Love that it blends American and Vietnamese deli concepts. They have unique offerings that are not typically offered at a traditional banh mi shop, such as the crispy roast pork. The crispy roast pork really is crispy! I was very impressed. The rest of the sandwich was pretty standard, although I have to say that the bread itself was pretty good! It was crispy out the outside and soft on the inside. The sizes were reasonable for the price. They also have interesting smoothie options. Service was very friendly! I would definitely come back if I was in the area! read more

Amazing Banh Mi sandwiches! The sandwich was packed with tons of crispy pork belly and for the price you can't beat it! Smoothie was good as well. Traditional walk in and order at the counter and few tables and barstools along the wall counter, it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. No public bathroom and the service was quick. The beef pho sandwich is on my list to try next! read more
Got to try Bahn Mi Mi out finally and I enjoyed their Crispy Pork Bahn Mi. I was torn between ordering that and the Italian but chose the crispy pork after seeing some one else order it and how much crispy pork was on it. Overall it was a great tasting sandwich and a decent amount of food but a bit pricey for bahn mi. The wait took awhile since only one person was behind the counter at the time but even then it was worth the wait. Definitely eyeing that Italian Bahn mi still. read more

Excellent off-beat banh mi selection right on Arden! The sandwiches were awesome, with fresh ingredients, freshly fried pork belly for the crispy pork banh mi, and high quality generous portion of cured meats for the Italiano. Showed up in between pork prep, apparently, because we were told they were out, but then told a 5 minute wait was all there was between us and goodness in a baggett! Definitely worth the wait! When entering Banh Mi Mi you are immediately greeted by the nice staff and the very cute decor the interior is very clean and simple almost reminds me of in n out. I got their dac biet banh mi and two drinks I don't quite remember the names of. First the dac biet banh mi, it was a good sandwich and I may get it again but if the owner reads reviews I would recommend two things. I LOVE salty food, the banh mi was salty even for me. Additionally I would make the shredded carrots and daikon cut thinner and brine it for longer this would help cut back on the saltiness and fattyness of the sandwich. Last recommendation is to toast the banh mi, that would really set it apart and justify the somewhat pricey sandwich. 4/5 despite my feedbackit really still is a good sandwich and I'd be down to try the other ones! Their drinks are fricken awesome btw both are 10/10 for what they are. I highly recommend the one orange with yogurt in it. So delicious on a bright sunny day Overall rating 4.5/10! read more

Stopped by Banh Mi Mi and it was a great experience. I ordered the Braised Beef Pho Dip Banh Mi and the Tropical Passion drink -- both were soo good! The banh mi was packed with flavor, super satisfying, and perfect for dipping, and the drink was refreshing and not overly sweet. Service was fast and super friendly -- everyone was welcoming and efficient, even with a steady flow of customers. The space is clean, casual, and easygoing -- great for a quick bite or laid-back meal. Solid spot all around, and I'll definitely be back to try more. read more
