I won't ever go to a Subway again. Tbh it's been probably 2yrs since I've had their food. I don't eat subs much so I went today and ordered a 6" veggie on wheat w oil. What I got was, a multi grain roll, can't eat seeds. It had some kind of salad dressing which tasted somewhat like Italian dressing, def not oil. Then the pickles were garlic. Alyssa (the manager) threw my order away in front of me over cheese. She didn't ask what we wanted on our turkey and CHEESE and our italian. When I kindly asked for american on it, she snapped that I didn't tell her I wanted cheese. I said you didn't ask, and she said yanno what I'm not helping you and threw it away. A couple of months ago, when I was 32 or so weeks pregnant with twins, I brought my 3 year old son in with me because he needed to pee. I asked if I could bring him to the bathroom, and the same awful manager, Alyssa, told me no. That it was for customers only. I even offered to pay for the sandwiches before she made them, and she told me me no and threw my sandwich that she was making out in front of me. She refused to let my son use the bathroom. I don't know how someone could treat others so poorly and not have any repercussions. Every review here is about her being awful to customers. I asked her name today, and she said I don't have to tell you that. I immediately called another store and found out that it's Alyssa. She's a terrible human being. RUDE beyond belief! They had bread for 4 small sandwiches when we ordered. They turned away a bunch of groups of people, at least 20 total, while we were there eating. We use this subway for sandwiches at least once a month. Very rare the place isn't busy when I get there and the staff is stressed. Maybe I'm lucky in that I get good service but that doesn't help when they run out of key ingredients like ham or lettuce. I am a regular at this Subway, go in maybe 2-3 times a week at lunchtime, and can honestly say they made a mistake getting rid of the tall kid who worked there during lunch. The manager has some serious problems with customer service and needs to be replaced immediately. I always find the Main St. Rochester Subway location staff to by unfriendly and seemingly put out taking your order. They also put very little meat on their subs. It's been a bit since my last visit, but for sake of convenience only I stopped there again today. Sure enough, no change. Snippy attitude taking my order and they put on very little meat on the sub. So I asked for double meat which I know costs extra, but nope, they snipped back I couldn't have double meat today because they're low on meat. So I said I don't want the sub. This place won't be open for long if they keep the manager named "ALYSSA" who is so nasty. I walked in with my son, we were like 10 feet from counter looking at menu. Out of nowhere this nasty angry voice came out and said no service for 2 hours, She went on to tell us " I got a big order", "and I'm not stopping this order I'm working on." I asked her if she could stop to make us 'ONE' sub. She became like a rabid dog shouting at me and calling me a bitch. 8:30 pm no steak, rude waitres, they really need to look at how they handle their food to make sure they have everything on the menu until closing. The woman that was working tonight was very rude. I don't scare easily, but holy cow! A visit to this Subway was terrifying. It was a dark and stormy night when the kid and I decided we would use one of those stupid coupons that we bought for some neighborhood kid's fundraiser. Sure, I never expected to actually use one of the "Buy one sub- Get one free" coupons as I forked over my ten bucks to little Suzie, but there I was, doing the unthinkable. The kid stayed at home, having written up his sub order for me. Yes, I am too clueless to remember all the intricacies of his order with some weird kind of bread and a plethora of bizarre condiments, so I drove into the night with his Post-It note in hand. I didn't know where Subway was located in Rochester, but I vaguely recalled passing it on my way to Home Depot one day. The roads were slick with rain as I spotted their yellow sign on North Main Street... sorta near Lafayette Street.... if you catch my drift.... I pulled into the parking lot and tried to figure out which way to park my car, since there were no lines marking the spaces. The lot was empty, except for a man bedecked in a dark hoodie and jeans who was pacing back and forth in the parking lot while talking to himself. I should have taken this as a cue to never buy those fundraising coupons from the neighborhood kids, but eventually the mumbling man soon wandered off and I left my car to enter the building. No sooner did I step inside the Subway, did the mumbling man follow me inside. "Can you do something?" the mumbling man asked the young woman, a Subway employee, at the counter. "He's calling the manager right now," the woman replied nervously before disappearing through the doorway and into the room on the right. The hooded man resumed his pacing and began muttering to himself about how hungry he was and how he needed food. As the only person in the restaurant, and the only person in the part of the restaurant with the mumbling man, I was a bit nervous. After speaking with a male employee, who was in the other room, the woman reappeared. "He's calling the manager right now," she reiterated. Then, the woman took my order for a my Chicken Bacon Ranch, and my son's Spicy Italian on multi-grain bread, toasted, with 2 slices of tomatoes, a handful of black olives, one slice of provolone, three-quarters of a slice of American cheese, a half a leaf of spinach, a sprinkle of red onions, thousand island dressing.... well, you get what I mean.... All the while, the mumbling man increased the volume of his mumbling so that he was better understood, although he was speaking to no one in particular. From what I heard: 1. he was homeless. 2. his girlfriend is pregnant. 3. they are living in the woods. 4. they had been kicked out of the shelter. 5. they wanted food. The rest of his rant was indecipherable. I was never so happy when the female handed me my subs. I paid for my order with a credit card. She swiped my card, and took care of the transaction. As soon as she handed me my receipt, she was gone! She immediately ducked into the room on the right and resumed communication with the unseen male employee, who was presumably still 'trying to call the manager.' As a result of this, I was left alone with the irate mumbling man, whose rants had escalated. At this point, I have to ask you gentle readers, restaurant managers, fast food employees, fathers of middle-aged women, husbands of middle-aged women, boyfriends of middle-aged women, teenagers with middle-aged women for mothers: Would you ever have left me alone in the empty restaurant with this lunatic? I would hope not. I felt bad for the homeless man. Maybe I would have slipped him a $20 if I had any assurance from the Subway staff's presence that he wouldn't knock me down, steal my purse, and drive off in my car. It is a sad day when a business such as Subway has to initiate some sort of mandate for dealing with a situation like this. I would hope that the common sense to never leave a customer, particularly a middle-aged female customer, alone in the restaurant's public area with a mumbling irate homeless man would be part of the procedure . read more

I am a 54 year old and have never seen such a dirty restaurant. My husband and i went in to grab something quick. The kid behind the counter must have been new, it took at least 15min before he got to us with only one person in front of us. I also asked to use the bathroom key, he handed it to me, gloves on, and continued making the man ahead of us subs, same gloves. The store was disgustingly dirty, rugs full of dirt, trash overflowing, tables and benches with crumbs all over, floors filthy. I will never go to that subway ever again. My husband wanted to go to another sub place but I said "how about Subway" I'll never do that again. how about a little time for cleaning up, and less time standing in the back room chatting it up. Went in to buy some cookies for after dinner tonight.. After being patronized about having to buy something before using the restrooms, the young man at the register looked rather perturbed as he had just learned that he burned a whole batch of bread. He then proceeded to check out all of the people getting sandwiches that were behind me. It took him 5 minutes to check out each person. Meanwhile I am still waiting to buy my cookies and use the restroom after telling him I am only there to buy cookies. The worst has yet to come, as I finally get to the register, and I see the young man left up his sweaty tshirt from his stomach to whipe the sweat off of his forehead..AND not washing his hands afterward.. He then proceeded to ignore the cookie tongs that you use to pick up the cookies with, (that was literally sitting right next to the cookies) DOES NOT put gloves on and grabs the cookies with a NAPKIN and bare-sweat-hands.... No gloves, no tongs, sweaty hands, disgusting. If I could give this place a zero star I would. Gordon Ramsey couldn't even turn this subway around. read more

One of the worst fast food experiences i have ever had! I was ordering a normal Tuna sub and one of the employees who i believe name was Jonah was absolutely terrible. He gave me an attitude for no reason and blamed it on is hours saying "Sorry i have been working all day and i'd appreciate it if you would hurry up!" He gave me this response after i took a certain amount of time to select if i wanted cheese or not. Then he gave me this look of disgust as i gave him the money for the sandwich. I was not happy with the costumer service at all! However the sandwiches are pretty good but use to be much better. Went in around lunch time 12:15 pm. There was no one in line, and it took the guy at least 3 minutes to acknowledge that I was there. He said he would be with me as soon as he could. Then I noticed he was working on an order that had been faxed/called in and no one was there to pick it up yet. Stood there for another few minutes before I decided that I didn't have time to wait and left without ordering. Don't you think that you should wait on the people in front of you before people that aren't even there. Don't you think that you should have more than ONE person on when it's going to be the busiest time of the day? Most people only get 30-60 minutes for lunch and don't have the time to wait for 20 minutes for one sandwich. Don't usually go to this subway and don't think I'll be back. read more

My husband and I went for lunch on Monday April 3 we both got salads the girl must of been in training because she was clueless as to how to make one. My husband wanted the new Italian hero in a salad but they were out of the ingredients to make it. When we finally decided what they had and what we wanted they were out of olives for our salads also. Finally got our lunches and they were out of forks to eat our salads with so we had to eat with spoons. They always did a great job with the subs, and all the employees were cool and personable. Especially the manager, I think his name is Jay. Something about the location itself is also really... inviting. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I loved going in there. The reason I don't still go to this one is because I recently moved halfway across the country. Made the mistake of stopping in at this subway. I order 3 sub's one was a turkey and black forest ham, a cold cut combo and lastly a cheasy bread Italian all with the fixings. When I got home to my surprise the Italian had no meat. So I called them and talked to one one the young ladies that worked there and to my surprise she remembered me. I asked her why I didn't have any meat on the Italian she replied " we have many kinds of Italians". Now at this point I knew the conversation wasn't gonna go anywhere and hung up. I guess I learned something today that Italians don't come with meat any more. Avoid this store at all cost unless you fancy a French Italian. read more
