The other day while I was looking over the DoorDash app to find a restaurant to order from, I found this one, unknown to me, by the name of "The Meltdown." It seemed to be a Virtual Brand. I looked up their address published in DoorDash and it led me to the Denny's on 3429 Orange Ave NE, in Roanoke, Virginia. I decided to take a risk and order from them, because it is only by taking a risk that great discoveries are made. So I looked over their menu and ordered the Giddy Up Melt, which was described as a slow-smoked brisket burnt ends, sharp white Cheddar, creamy BBQ sauce and pickles on grilled sourdough bread. I ordered this sandwich with a side of onion rings. When the order arrived, and I opened up the container where it came in; the sandwich looked small compared to the one in the photo of their website. The grilled sourdough bread was soaked in butter or some kind of grease, that made it very slimy. The tiny chunks of Brisket were literally burnt to the point of being crunchy, and after all that talk of melted cheese, it hardly had any, or they were melted down to oblivion. The onion rings looked good, but they were soggy and not crunchy. And many of the onions rings were made with the thin peal of the outside of the onion that can't be bitten into. I was so disappointed, that I didn't know what to do. It now occurs to me that I could of called to DoorDash and asked for a refund for the quality of food and the bad way it was cooked. But I decided instead to write this review to make the reader aware of what you'll be facing if you order from here. So you won't have to go through what I went through. So by ordering from the Melt Down you won't get a letdown.

But I should have foreseen this coming because just the other day in a Chick-fil-A not far from there, I arrived 5 minutes late after they had closed the dining room to the public and began serving drive-thru only, and I told an employee who was throwing out the trash that I had traveled this far just to dine at this Chick-fil-A (and I left out that I intended to write a Yelp review as well), she told me that she could not let me in, to go through the drive-thru. Needles to say, this attitude was not a reflection of the Chick-fil-A I used to know, although this was the first time I had attempted to eat there. I arrived at this Jersey Mike's for the very first time and parked in front of its building. The restaurant was clean and well-organized. An African-American, young lady greeted me and pointed out where I should go to order my food. There, an older, serious gentleman took my order for an Original Itatian Sub, regular size, in white bread, and began making it. Then he passed it on to the lady who had originally greeted me and she asked me what I wanted on it. I was expecting a different question so I waited and then she asked me: "Would you like that Mike's Way?" And I said yes. (Employees are corporate-mandated to ask customers this). She did a great job finishing building my sub, including pickles and banana peppers which I asked her to add. All the items looked very fresh and appetizing. I made it a combo and made sure my MyMike's was inputed to get my Shore Points. When I sat down to eat I noticed everything was fresh except the bread. With all the bread available that they had I would have expected to have been given a fresh piece. Here is where I detected a lack of consistency in fresh food. Yet in other Jersey Mike's this had never happen. It's amazing how one little detail can ruin a perfect score but I'm very particular on the freshness of the bread where I eat. Also, at Jersey Mike's the management protocol emphasizes a genuine enthusiastic, and welcoming atmosphere. I detected a lack of this from the manager and some of the team members where there is room for improvement. I hope corporate reads this review and takes action to correct the details that I have mentioned; because it is the little details that make the big difference.

And this Atomic Wings is the perfect example. Dedicated to serving a wide range of all natural jumbo wings and other menu items, Atomic Wings offers halal chicken at any spice level and a variety of dipping sauces to suit any taste bud. The founder of Atomic Wings did so by fullfiling his dream of recreating the hot, crispy wings he had once eaten during his college days in Buffalo, New York. Today at around 5:30pm I went with a friend to check this new place out. It had reasantly celebrated it's Grand Opening a few days ago, and still had some of the balloons decorations of the event attached to the outdoor columns of its building architectural design. When we entered I was surprised to find some customers eating there and others waiting for their To Go orders. The owner of the new restaurant came out and gave us a warm welcome, greeting us himself in person. He had a nice, friendly personality, and just by meeting him I could already anticipate the success of this new restaurant. Their menu was well lit and hanging high above. Their prices were very reasonable and they had a nice variety of chicken items besides their famous Wings, such as Chicken Tenders and Chicken Sandwiches, and for dessert, Fried Oreo Cookies. For those who enjoy a cold beer in a hot Summer day, they had both Bottled Beers and Tap Beers, as well as Beer by the Pitcher. They also had regular fountain drinks and milkshakes. And for fries, from Fresh-Cut Fries, to Waffle Fries, to even Tater Tots. The lady at the counter greeted us and took our order. We both ordered the #3 Combo Meal with 5 pieces of Chicken Tenders, Fresh-Cut Fries, and a fountain drink. My friend had Root Beer and I had Dr Pepper. They also had Pepsi and Southern Style H & C Brand Ice Tea. They charged for the order and took my first name to call us when the order was ready. When they called my name and recognized who I was, they immediately brought the order to our table without given us a chance to go pick it up. This is what I call service. Going above and beyond ones highest expectations even in the little things. When I saw the tray they had brought me, and placed on our table right there in front of me, I was mesmerized by the size of the Chicken Tenders and by the great amount of Fries served. My order was ready sooner that I expected and the items all were fresh and hot, with.the Peach Milkshake nice and cold. The Waffle Fries were amazing. Sam originally decided to expand with a second restaurant in this area because he had been manager of the Denny's across the street for several years, and was familiar with the area, and since his other restaurant in Moneta is more seasonal in nature. When I arrived I noticed that it had a large parking lot in front of the restaurant which was located in the left corner of the shopping center. The building structure was relatively modern and clean with the restaurant's name in large red letters high above the building. Once inside, I was greeted by a very warm and friendly lady by the name of Amy who ended being my server since I didn't see any other one around. Only the cook in the kitchen. After I was seated at the table of my choice, she handed me a copy of the menu, and took my drink order of a Coke. The menu was typical of an Italian restaurant, offering pizzas in the New York and Chicago styles, along with gourmet pastas, subs, salads, and calzones, among other items. Since they listed the Chicago style pizza as their specialty, I went ahead and ordered a Supreme, and their Fried Shrimp appetizer since I figured the pizza would take longer to cook. The fried shrimps were fresh, crispy, and delicious. I enjoyed eating them with the marinara sauce. When the pizza arrived, I found its appearance a bit strange. Now I've been to Chicago and have had the original Chicago style pizza as well as ones from Pizzeria UNO when it first opened in Boston. So I'm well aware of it. And I can clearly say that this is not the real thing, but simply a poor imitation attempt but nothing like the authentic one. Not the shape, not the depth, not the crust, not the sauce, and not the toppings that you could hardly see. I liked the taste of the crust, but found the sauce to be too thick, too acidic, too much, and too overwhelming. To dine I ordered the Shrimp N' Parmesan Sirloin entrée. It came with two sides. I asked if I could have the Classic Fries and a small house salad. She said yes. But ended serving me two portions of luckwarm fries and charging me extra for the salad. The supposedly 8oz Top Sirloin ($25.99) was the smallest Sirloin I've ever seen and the shrimps were so small that they were hidden under the sauce. The steak was tender, but not cooked medium-rare as I had requested. The best thing of the meal was the house salad with the one tiny plastic bowl of blue cheese dressing. For desert I asked for Sizzlin' Caramel Apple Pie. My waitress took the order and then asked me if I wanted caramel on it. Of course I told her. The menu described it with caramel sauce, candied pecans and vanilla ice cream in a warm skillet, and showed a picture of it with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. When my server brought it to me, the skillet was not only small but cold as supposed to warm. What a disappointment. I paid the bill and think I will never be returning to this Applebee's.
