I have never had a cheesesteak or anything like it so I have nothing to compare it to. The onion rings were decent, the sauce was a little spicy for me. The people were extremely nice and very busy.

I've lived in this area my entire life. I grew up on eating pretty "OK" cheesesteaks and survived…read morejust fine. I also have driven to Philly for a "real" cheesesteak and have had a number of great sandwiches locally in the last few years. I've heard a lot of good stuff about JD's and decided to check it out. If you're a local foodie, you know there are probably 3 sandwich joints that everyone swears by, and JD's is one of them, so we were very excited to give this a whirl. I had a quick trip one night after work, and we were getting home around 630, so we called in an order to JDs. There was a big mix up with our order (not knocking anyone for that, stuff happens) and our order was prepared again in record time and got home. We ordered 2 different cheesesteaks and some garlic parm fries. So let me get this out of the way, the cheesesteaks were good. Nothing at all wrong with them, but they were very much a "Berks County" cheesesteak... I don't know how else to describe it, but if you grew up here in the 90s, this tasted exactly like every cheesesteak you've had at a pizza shop or sandwich shop in the past. There is NOTHING wrong with that. I thought it was good, but it was just a good sandwich, nothing to write home about. The fries, were cold before we got home , and while you get A LOT of fries, they were just fine once we reheated them in the air fryer. They tasted good, they had decent seasoning, but again nothing special. The staff was nice, cannot complain about service, fixed the mistake quickly and got us on our way. If you want just a good cheesesteak, and good fries, this is your place... its just a very good sandwich shop with good food. Nothing wrong with that, if this was my neighborhood shop I would have no problem eating here regularly, and maybe I ordered the wrong style of sandwich and I need to try again (I will).

I haven't been there in 6 years. I can't believe these places share the name V&S because they vary widely. But this place in Temple is terrific! I looked online and found that they were the highest rated restaurant in the area serving burritos. When we got there, we were greeted by a really cool young man who was kind and courteous and took our order. He made some recommendations- which we took, and we really appreciated. I ordered a steak burrito and my husband ordered a mixture of tacos. Everything was truly delicious. Their pico was fresh, the ingredients tasted fresh, the meat was well seasoned. It was nice seeing colorful entrees and colorful food. Colorful because of all the fresh ingredients, like the avocado, pico and the perfectly seared meat, corn tortillas that were bright yellow and perfectly toasted. The shrimp in the taco was snappy and very well cooked. Their horchata was soooo good. It was comforting and full of flavor. Their accompanying sauces also did not disappoint. The green sauce was spot on and the heat sauce was pretty good too. As far as ambience, that probably was the only way in which Best Taco was lacking. The place is a little incomplete looking. It could use some charm and cohesion, perhaps some upgrades. But besides that, service & food were phenomenal. I really enjoyed the food at Best Taco. I won't forget the food and will absolutely return.

Jimbo's fare is pretty standard for a cheesesteak place. They had the usual steak sandwiches and I wanted a really good cheesesteak. I was pleasantly surprised with the meal at Jimbo's. I ordered a cheesesteak (big surprise there), and onion rings (love onion rings) and a coke. The place was decorated in an interesting style. There were many tables lined up along the side walls of the restaurant and the center aisle made from the tables on each side was clear. The place was not crowded. It was about 2PM so it was after the lunch hour and it was also during the week. The place was made up like a 50's diner in red and white with statues of various celebrities (the Blues Brothers, and former President Trump) if you like this addition to the ambience. I don't really remember any music playing. It didn't matter anyway. The cheesesteak was very good, the roll was fresh, Anthony steak tasted like a South Philadephia cheesesteak steak. I the onion rings were crispy and hot and delicious. I definitely would order both again. Service was also great. The order was taken and the food came very fast. The cheesesteak was far too large to eat in one sitting so I took what remained home. I would certainly choose Jimbo's on a list of local eateries to try!! Four stars because it was very good -- nothing really to complain about at all, and good food.
