Now, I'm no spring chicken and throughout my time on this planet I've had many,many steak sandwiches. You know, the usual stringy, cardboardy, uneatable, thin tiny piece of meat. But because I needed an iron hit that's what I opted for. The steak sandwich arrived on my table, it looked pretty much like any other I'd had before but then I took a bite. ..... PERFECTION! Surprise? The steak was fillet, plenty of it (drool) and cooked b-eeeeautifully :) Whenever I'm in that area again I'm going in for another treat.

It wasn't until a friend drove me to his favourite shop that I got to try the great selection. The guys Adam and Joe took over from the original owners and cakes are made specially by Marissa. On this visit I tried only the ice cream and gelato. It was very tasty and will have to work through all of them to find my favourite. There are not many tables inside and it is a very casual setting. What I did notice was the large number of people coming through the door for a takeaway ice cream. I'll be back.

The same family that owns Argos on the Parade, they have a great range of sandwiches and lunch options (including gluten free sandwiches and lunches), desserts and pies and pastries. They make a great coffee and have pretty much all of the essentials you might urgently need in the kitchen. This deli is open all of the time, from about 7am until about 7pm every day - including Christmas day, which has come in SO handy. There are tables and chairs and they encourage people to dine in the shop to create more of a cafe atmosphere - and they're succeeding. In the past few years, I have seen business increase to such an extent that I avoid going there during weekday lunch hours, where all the local tradies and council workers come for lunch, and somehow - the people serving manage to keep track of all of their names, orders and stories.

Once I did find it I was welcomed by friendly staff. Basic toasties at $7.50 and more adventurous toasties are $9.50, each with about 2 or 3 different ingredients. Looks like each toastie takes max 5 minutes to make and if you dine in, it comes with a little salad too. I tried the Tandoori Chicken toastie on recommendation from the staff and was not disappointed. Coffee was pretty good too. Great for a quick lunch if you're in the area, don't forget to leave a note on the blackboard too!

It's conveniently located in the newly revamped (check out all the new stores!) Central Market arcade, best located near the entrance coming in from Gouger St. The 'gourmet' toasties start form $9.50, they also do house shakes etc and a whole slew of other brilliant creations. If sweet toasties are you thing, they do that too! I got the roast pork, sauerkraut and cheese toastie with pumpkin bread which was pretty damn good. It comes with a salad as well which makes the meal perfect! I also go the Agro milkshake - give them a go! Protip: Come before or after lunchtime, it gets pretty busy and service can be lacking a bit.

There are 12 choices filled with all the yummy fillings you see in the display. They are made to order (they're pretty quick) so you can add or change any filling you like. Dimi's isn't fancy, and you're not going to receive anything spectacular; but it's a nice, quiet little cafe that does some darn good lunch items. The chicken schnitzel baguette is badass - any time chicken schnitzel is incorporated into some sort of sandwich, I can't help but get excited! The coffee's pretty good too, so you can get all of your essentials in the one place. The Kent Town area is relatively quiet and makes for a very quaint experience. It's a wonderful spot to go if you're in the mood for a quiet one. The service is exceptional and the owners are incredibly friendly, and makes Dimi's a special little shop.
