I had a token and needed lunch so after a quick scan on Yelp, we decided to check out Ott Haus. And I was not disappointed. The building is cute and kinda small. It definitely had an older feel, kinda dive bar-ish but it was clean. They have bar seating, a handful of tables, and a beer garden area. It gets a little crowded pretty quickly so you may make some new friends if you share a table. The service was great and the owner was super nice. She answered questions and was very accommodating. They have New Glarus beer on tap, duh. But also domestics, cocktails, and soft drinks. I had a strawberry rhubarb beer from New Glarus and absolutely loved it. I also had a PBR which is my stand by. Based on the reviews, we had to try the cheese curds. They come with a dill ranch. They weren't greasy at all. They were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. The ranch was a tasty accompaniment. Highly recommend and would order again. For my entree, I ordered the Beer Cheese Bacon Burger: 1/2 pound burger cooked medium with beer cheese and bacon on a pretzel bun. This was probably my favorite meal of my Wisconsin vacation. The burger patty was delicious and seasoned well. The pretzel bun held everything together and paired perfectly with the creamy beer cheese sauce. The bacon was an added bonus. I opted for tater tots for a side and enjoyed dipping them in that extra beer cheese. This was seriously one of the best burgers I've eaten in a looooong time. It's probably good that I live 500 miles away because my waist line and wallet would take a beating. I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a drink and food. I will be back the next time I'm in town.

The rhubarb bars were tart and my dad said the turtle was delicious. From what I heard, the apple bread was moist and delicious. I wasn't around for that but I got it for the grandkids and my mom when the grandkids were visiting her. The one drawback is what I got for myself. The fritter was not that great. It had some caramel icing but the fritter itself didn't have a glaze or anything in addition so it was fairly dry. Next time I'm through the area, I'll probably try it again as everything else seemed very good.

The Swiss hotel is very cute and located less than 2 blocks away from the downtown area where the fests were. The hotel is also dog-friendly, which was important during our stay. I'm giving 4-stars because the hotel needs a little upgrading and my husband didn't care for the breakfast he had. The scrambled eggs were watery and there wasn't any butter for the pancakes. Also to note, our room was neat and looked clean but we noticed the recycling hadn't been taken out and I'm certain the shower wasn't cleaned before we arrived because there was a white residue all over the shower handle. Overall, I would stay here again because of the location, it's dog-friendly, and I loved the Swiss charm.

It was a square pillow with a BIG blue circle in the middle of it especially made for neck issues. Anyone could have seen that this was no regular pillow. Where or where could it be???. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and if you do stay there, look out for thieves and bring cleaning supplies.

The drinks are good - I tried You're The One complete with a rubber duck and the Lemon Drop. I have to admit I was disappointed with the service on a holiday weekend. People either need to wait in line or order at at bar. They were letting people do both and it caused long waits and was upsetting to most guests. I know people can call in, so trying to be understanding of the short staff. But the way it was handled left a bad taste in our mouths, even with great tasting cocktails. Fixing this will improve the experience for everyone.
