McDonald's - I ordered apple slices. The store ran out. I got pineapple chunks instead. The only eatery didn't make me pay more for the pineapple. Yay!

My first time having McDonald's or McCafe breakfast items and a very long time!…read more I ordered on the kiosk and I selected the table service. There was no table service they just called my number regularly a little bit annoying why offer it if it's not an option. I ordered a hash brown classic McDonald's choice it was hot it was fresh and tasted just as good as I remembered it! I also tried there everything bagel and it was soft and the bagel itself had a strong flavor I didn't actually taste onion and the bagel and they didn't put too much cream cheese overall I would definitely give it a 10 out of 10 I would come back for it. I also tried their new cold brew and I decided to try the sugar-free vanilla I would not recommend for the sugar-free syrup is too overpowering and it has a very strong aftertaste and that's pretty much all you taste I can't taste the coffee I can't taste vanilla I can't taste cream all I taste is the aftertaste of this syrup. I also noticed that the pricing of all the items at McCafe are very competitive with Tim Hortons I wish the coffee tasted better cuz then I would definitely get my information here, but maybe I just have to try it different syrup

This McDonald's is in the same plaza as Mamma's Pizza. There's lots of parking in front of the restaurant. I had placed my order through the app and got the following: - Poutine - McDouble I went through the drive-thru to pick up my order. The drive-thru is between two buildings, with a roof to keep your car dry when it's snowing or raining. I approached the speaker. The guy with a young voice on the other end started the conversation. I stated my code. One word from him: What? Okay, either you are too young to have lost your hearing unless you listen to music at full blast with headphones, or you need to polish up on your customer service skills. How about, "I didn't catch that code. Can you please repeat it?" So, I bluntly restated my code, even using the international / NATO phonetic alphabet for the first two letters. If you are going to be a pill about things, I don't mind wasting your time to clearly get my code to you. He got it. I headed over to the window to pick up my food. I thanked the woman who gave me my bag of food and headed home. During the pandemic, McD's decided to remove poutine from the menu. Since it has returned, I crave it. It was yummy. It had lots of gravy. The cheese curds were too melted to figure out if they were actually cheese curds or melted mozzarella. The fries were yummy. I got a wooden fork for my poutine. It was my first time using one. It worked well. I had my McDouble next. It was yummy. If you want a double patty and a cheeseburger as a light snack, it's a good option. Other than the man with his one-word response to not catching my code, I had a good experience here. (387)

Jolly Good Chicken !!!…read more We were in the Promenade area and decided to have lunch. Since my kids had never eaten at Jollibee's before we decided to give it a try. Jolibee is a fast-food chicken chain from the Philippines and now has locations in Canada. My kids and I have had chicken from most of the North American chain restaurants like Popeye's, Mary Browns, Church's Chicken and KFC as well as local fried Chicken joints like Krispy Cajun, BB.Q Chicken and Mr. Sixx however they have not had the Pilipino style of chicken. When we arrived we had time to peruse the menu, and the person at the counter helped my kids pick out their meal. They were curious about two items they had not had before and we ordered some chicken meals, a la carte chicken as well as the Sweet Spaghetti and Palabok. I have to say the Palabok and Sweet Spaghetti were a hit and my kids loved it. I personally like the chicken at Jollibee's as they have a unique marinade and the chicken is always juicy and tender inside and the coating keeps the chicken crisp on the outside. My kids said they liked the chicken, but it wasn't the greatest as they are biased towards Popeye's. The meals were filling and the kids overall enjoyed them, Since our inaugural visit we have gone back a couple more times, mostly when we are at the Promenade for shopping or the movies. Overall, Jollibee's is always busy at this location and in the Thornhill area, this is our new go-to for fast-food chicken, Sweet Spaghetti and Palabok.

I ordered the two-piece meal (one regular, one spicy) with fries, gravy, and a pineapple juice. Mmm, it looked yummy! Looks, however, can be deceiving. While the flavour was good, the chicken was not as fresh as it could/should have been. It wasn't even hot. The fries were definitely not fresh. The pineapple juice made up for it though. It was tasty and refreshing! I know, from experience, that Jollibee can do a lot better. Maybe next time...

Will definitely request it next time. Don't like the corn syrup that comes with it. Curry beef brisket is okay. Pretty mild curry flavour. Rice isn't fresh. Brisket is pretty standard. Personally wouldn't get again, but seems like one of the go-tos among the regulars. Service is slow at times, but they're trying. Ambiance is typical old Chinese restaurant feel.

FOOD Vermicelli with Chicken Steak ($9.99 including drink): The chicken was OK - a little hard, but edible. The noodles fine, with some frozen mixed veg (i.e. corn, carrots and peas) and soup was lacking in flavour, which is good in that it wasn't salty, but...still lacking in flavour. Would I do it again? Definitely looking elsewhere on the menu - thank goodness the afternoon tea pricing made it affordable! === 3. SERVICE Service was good for a fast sit-down place, by Chinese restaurant standards. And it was good in Cantonese at least; English was a little more challenging. === 4. ENVIRONMENT There's an upper section and lower section in decor from the late 90's or early 2000's. It's OK, but you're likely going to keep your group to 6 or less based on table sizes. Those with wheelchairs and baby strollers will likely need to stay closer to the entrance. Parking is plentiful in the shopping complex lot.

It took two people fifteen minutes to make it. - Communication to the customer on how long it would take for my order to be ready wasn't stellar. On Wednesday night, after driving home from Mississauga, I felt like a milkshake. Where should I get one? I remembered that the Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shake location in Scarborough that I had visited months ago offered milkshakes. I also remembered this Boardwalk location in Markham. It used to be South St. Burger. Markham used to have two locations. It now has zero, which is a downer. I came here at nearly 9 pm. There were lots of parking spots. I pulled into one and entered the store. The Boardwalk is a combo store with Lava Grill. There is one entrance for both eateries. I walked in. There was a couple enjoying a meal. I was the only person at the order area, which is shared between the two eateries. It took a while for the man at Boardwalk to come over. He was making burgers. I ordered these items: - Strawberry shake without whipped cream - Dubai chocolate brownie I paid with a credit card. Done. Communication is an issue here. This man continued making burgers and fries. He didn't let me know how long it would take to make my order. I wasn't in a rush, but I didn't know that it would take fifteen minutes for two folks to try and make my milkshake. I did like that the press for the burgers automatically came down on the patties and had a timer. I also watched fries go into hot oil and the basket automatically come up once the fries were done. It was also on a timer. I noticed that burger man got Lava guy to make my shake. They both went into the back. Burger man came back to assemble the burgers. Lava guy was still in the back. My guess was that there was some issue making my shake. Again, I got no communication until Lava guy came out to look at my order and told me it would be two minutes. Um, sure. I didn't believe it. I was right. I decided to sit down. Burger guy had finished making the burgers. He went outside. He came back in. His first communication to me was two fingers up in the area. Two minutes or victory?! Five minutes later, I saw a shake come out from the back. Lava guy was holding it. Lava guy took a box with a brownie and packed it in a paper bag. I got a napkin, a fork, and a spoon. He handed me a pretty strawberry shake and my paper bag. I thanked both guys, more relieved than anything, and left. I got into my car and drove home. Despite the wait and the lack of decent communication, the two items that I had were excellent. The strawberry milkshake was yummy. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was creamy and enjoyable. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie yesterday. It was so good. I loved the crispy bits with pistachio cream and a delectable, moist brownie layer. Yum! I'm thinking that ordering online and coming here to pick up my order would be best. This place seems to take its time because it seems to be on its own time. Boardwalk has happy hour deals at night. I may give it a try next time. Here's hoping that communication is better. (190)

Last weekend, my family and I popped by this Popeyes for a quick meal pickup. It turned into a scary experience. I captured several photos of the restaurant store front & the busy interior. However I didn't initially notice there was a mentally ill man eating next to me. Presumably this is one of more affordable spots around. The man muttered at me with a homophobic slur in an upset manner even though my phone camera was never directed at him. Upon telling this man that I didn't appreciate his muttering, he pulled a large pocket knife to show his long blade and committed to charging towards me. That's when I realized the imminent danger and quickly exited the restaurant while no staff took no notice or action. Outside, I tried to de-escalate the situation at which point he went back inside. I was still worried for my family's safety and lingered near the entrance. Fortunately they exited with their order and we quickly drove away but I noticed the black man come out again. Skip it or hit it? I won't be back here if my life depended on it. Literally! Be safe out there in this post-pandemic environment.

If the store is quiet, the chicken is soggy, steamy after pick up. So this is truly a hit or miss. Some of the deals they let you swap out (biscuits for Mac and cheese for example - but for 4 biscuits they give you a small mac and cheese, is it worth it?) Restaurant is fairly clean, it's a fast food store not a Michelin restaurant. Staff are typically pretty friendly every time I visit. Haven't had any issues with them - except when you give me a small Mac and cheese in exchange for 4 biscuits Anywho probably my wife and I's favorite location for Popeyes. Stay crispy.
