Dairy Queen closes at 9 pm. I pulled in at 7:50 and ordered a #1 combo. The woman behind the…read morecounter said, "Sorry. . .too bad. No hamburgers as I turned off the grill because I want to go home.". UGH. I would go to another location but this is a Tesla Supercharger station and I have to charge.

Well, this is a complicated review. To begin with, my ice cream cone was excellent. I ordered a…read moreCinnamon Churro-Dipped vanilla cone- scrumptious! (I didn't even know that was a thing!) Apparently the Stuckey's where this Dairy Queen is located is under new management. And I must say, it's been quite an improvement, from when I last visited years ago. Decades ago, this was a nice restaurant/gas station. Then something happened (I don't know what), and the place turned into an absolute dump. It stayed that way for years. (To be honest, I stopped visiting for more than a decade, because it was always so awful.) Today was my first visit back, & things have drastically improved since my last visit. The new management clearly cares. They are in the process of installing electric vehicle charging stations. There were several friendly employees working. The place was reasonably clean, & the bathrooms were in good shape. Does it still need a bit of work? Yes. But it seems like they are on the right track. Can't wait for my next visit, when I plan to order an EVEN LARGER churro cone- seriously, I could've eaten two of those things, it was so good!

KFC - Tiny Tenders would be a fitting name! Noticed this with most KFC restaurants.

In reality, the tenders were shockingly small, like nugget-sized. I've noticed this trend with KFC for a while now, and it's getting worse. What blows my mind is that Louisiana Fried Chicken still serves tenders the size they've always been, but KFC (and even Popeye's) seem perfectly fine charging full price for half-sized pieces. I even asked the staff, and they casually said it depends on the bag they receive -- sometimes big, most times tiny. Zero remorse. The flavor was fine, but at this point, value matters, and KFC isn't delivering. I'm officially done with KFC.

Over the past two years, I've placed five or six orders at the KFC in Marion, North Carolina…read more Unfortunately, three of those experiences have been complete disasters. The first issue happened when I placed an online order for an eight-piece bucket and sides. The app said it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, it showed as "ready," but it wasn't. I spoke with staff, and they said they would make it. After about 20 minutes of waiting, it honestly became an experiment in curiosity--how long does it take to get a basic bucket of chicken? The answer: two and a half hours. There was no apology from management, no discount, and no effort to make it right. I even contacted the district office afterward and received no resolution. The second experience was at the drive-thru, where I was told they had no chicken--only tenders. At a restaurant known for its bucket of chicken, that was surprising and disappointing. Today, I decided to give them one last chance. I pulled up to the drive-thru and was told the chicken had just gone into the fryer and would take at least 15 minutes--then that changed to 20 minutes. Once again, no bucket of chicken. When your brand is built around being "famous" for chicken, running out of it or consistently failing to have it ready is unacceptable. After multiple failed attempts, this will be my last visit to this location.
