Subway at Gateway House is in the perfect location if you're getting a train from Piccadilly as it's right outside the train station, the store is owned by Made To Order Limited who own multiple Subway locations in Manchester.
The store from the inside looks good, it remains one of the few stores to actually receive the new branding, the worst part about the store for me was the barriers in place, meaning it was difficult to watch my Sandwich artist make my sandwich and look at the toppings, this is the only store I've noticed to do this in Manchester, I find it strange as they're already behind a glass screen anyway, but I guess they are trying to keep their staff secure during th Coronavirus epidemic.
I ordered my gluten-free tuna, ham and cheese sub, again it was okay, the bread is edible so can be dry which is why I always prefer a wet filling like tuna. My sandwich tasted OK, it was worth the price I paid £4.89 with a drink (as I used the Subprise offer through providing feedback on a previous visit), but I do prefer Subway's Deansgate branch which just seems to do better.
The staff seemed friendly enough.
3* - Decent Subway store, worthy of an upgrade, but wouldn't be my first choice(s) of branch to visit in town.
UPDATE: After further good experiences here, where the staff started to remember my order, I feel the need to upgrade them further to four-stars, as this is also one of the nicest Subway locations in towns in term of the modern interior. read more
