I expected a typical soft serve experience and that is what I got. Though from the reviews I thought I was going together an especially good burger, and it was (as another reviewer said) on the low side of mediocre. Fresh. Yes. Flavor... meh. They didn't have slushies. I wanted one. Not always in the mood for dairy. The ice tea was bland. I ordered a peach hand pie as I'd been driving all day and believe something sugary is a good reward. (I am admittedly self deluding). I thought it said "homemade" somewhere and I looked forward to whatever Arkansas grandma made these in her spare time to delight patrons and passers by. I posted pictures, I shall call "hand pie requiem." "Food" like this shouldn't exist anymore. It was designed in some food lab 50 years ago, and is made in some dumpster fire of a factory somewhere. It tasted more like black licorice than peach pie. It was so disgusting I pitched it after two bites. For decency's sake. Take these off the menu.

Bonus, I noticed a giant sign in the window advertising new $1 kids meals. Score! We pull up to the drive through and I order four $1 kids meals. I'm then informed that I need to order a combo to get the $1 kids meal price. So I order a combo for my husband and then four $1 kids meals. I'm then informed that you can only get ONE $1 kids meal PER combo ordered. Now, at this point we're about 5 minutes into this whole charade. I'm like "The sign in the window doesn't say anything about this. Can we forget the whole order? We'll go elsewhere." I feel like it is completely false advertising to have a giant sign luring people to the $1 kids meals. I mean, the kids meals were around $4.20 each plus the combo around $9... we're looking at close to $25 with tax. Needless to say, we drove to the next exit and went to McDonald's and spent $13 instead.

Unpretentious, comfortable and pleasantly eclectic. Their slogan is "analog feeling in a digital world" and it's perfectly apropos. Stacks of old school vinyl greet you as you come in and the sound of music spinning and espresso steaming. The staff is warm and welcoming. I showed up ready for lunch and the smash burger did not disappoint. Perfectly crisp on the edge of the patty, smashed onion, and burger sauce ... classic, delicious and un-improveable. Paired with a sweet tea and bag of chips, no fail. The snickerdoodle laté beats anything from chain coffees that shall not be mentioned, with a stick, while they sleep. The vibe is laid back, the menu is fun and varied ... I had a taste of the chicken salad, SOLID! All in all, Coffee Records is not to be missed.
