One of the many branches Subway has in Liverpool city centre (around 5/6?), this branch is on Hannover Street fairly close to both the Tesco Superstore and Premier Inn Liverpool city centre, it is the first branch in the city to launch gluten-free bread in line with the company's rollout date with the other branches seeming to have some sort of excuse on why they're behind the general chain - but that's another story for another day (or review)
Being open between 7 am and 11 pm every day excluding Sunday's where they open an hour later and close an hour earlier, the opening hours are pretty generous and rather fitting for the central location, at the back of the Liverpool One.
The store is pretty spacious but there could be more tables, the decor was pretty much average for Subway even though in terms of size and interior it was one of the nicer branches in the city.
I didn't like how it seemed to attract the "wrong crowds" here however and the staff didn't seem to care as a man who looked homeless came in, without purchasing anything and started shouting - this really isn't too pleasant while one is eating.
Both my gluten-free sandwiches, one being a Subway Melt, the other being Tuna and Cheese seemed to be prepared with care with the staff using paper after getting the gluten-free bread out (half a footlong only) to try and avoid any cross-contamination.
I did find the bread to be a little dry on the subway melt, however, as the tuna was made with mayo it seemed to add juiciness that it needed.
The staff seemed nice enough - they helped explain the loyalty card system how I could redeem my points online, having forgotten my card with no other option to log-in on the app because it was down for maintenance (honestly the Subway app is trash if head office is reading this it needs to be started over)
The staff seemed friendly and aware of cross-contamination making it the only decent place to get a good gluten-free sandwich in Liverpool, reasonably priced at £3.70 to warrant a three-star rating - it was let down by the overall feel of the store, mainly the seating area could have been better as well as the selection of drinks and issues with the attentiveness of staff at all times.
