The employees have all been super nice on the 3 occasions I've been here. But every meal has been super disappointing. The quality seems much lower than other subways I've been to, the bread I received was stale twice and on another occasion, the pretzel I ordered was rock hard. Also, they don't honor any coupons and when I ordered through the app for pick up, they canceled my order because I had used a coupon code...From their own app. It's a bummer. read more

Stopped in to grab a sandwich today and yikes... customer service was not it. The employee "Joyo" or something like that (it was hard to read on the handwritten name tag) seemed so annoyed that we were there. He was doing everything he could to avoid helping customers. It was to the point where we just stood there awkwardly until he decided he had to give up and actually help people. Terrible attitude, wife asked for light sauce. Girl behind the counter puts a pile of ranch and try's to move on. Wife asked if she could possibly remove some as she asked for light sauce. Girl scraps sauce off with knife then scraps it in that waste bin hole and goes back into the sandwich afterwards. I immediately asked why she would do that. Placed an order online for a BOGO footlong deal. Went in to pick it up and they said they don't participate and she would only honor it if we bought another foot-long sandwich and a sidekick. What?! she canceled the order after I said we didn't need all that and how is that a BOGO?! As of late they've been out of so many things anyways, avoiding this franchise at all costs even though it's the only one nearby. I'm trying to plan a party for at least ten people. On two different days I visited the Waimea Center Subway to inquire how to order a sandwich platter. I talked to two different employees and got two completely different responses. The first one said I needed to give him at least 48 hours advance notice. So I tried to place an order on Tuesday for pick up on Saturday. The second employee, a woman said that they open at 8 am (or something like that) but the latest they could have my order ready was at 10:30 am, Saturday morning. I was hoping to pick my order up at 9:30 am because I have to pick up a birthday cake at 9 am. My gathering starts at 11 am at the beach. There's no way I can pick up my sandwiches at 10:30 and make it to the beach before all my guests arrive. In the end, I just ordered a six inch tuna sandwich. Small orders they can handle. If I could give this place one star, I would. Music is always blasting and often times, the employees aren't in the front to greet customers who walk in so you're left yelling over music to try to get some service. If they are in the front, they're on their phones and completely unphased by your presence. Apparently being a "Participating Location" on the Subway app for certain promos means nothing because they don't accept any promo codes or rewards. The employees don't know why, they've said to me "because Mary said so." Who is Mary? Is she a manager of some sort? Because everything I've asked to speak to a manager, there is never one present. But I've heard stories about Mary. I've seen employees apologizing to customers because Mary's poor attitude and behavior in their prior visits. If that doesn't say something, idk what does. So disappointing that this place is like this. The owners need to check their management and policies here because they're just doing whatever they want here including having Google and the Subway app indicate that they're only open from 8-9:30am on Saturdays so cannot place an order. I think employees that handle food should be EXTRA careful during this time of COVID. The pair of girls working this morning may have not gotten the memo. This is by far the worst Subway I have ever encountered! I have lived on/off in this town for the past 30 years and remember when they first introduced this establishment. Now that I have moved back to Waimea, I refuse to visit this location. The last time I tried to patronize this location they told me they were out of lettuce. Funny, there is a grocery store (KTA) in the same shopping center! This is a product of very poor management/ownership and hiring employees that are inept/unable or do not care enough to problem solve and provide the service they advertise. It's sad because growing up here we used to order at least once a week. If I were in the subway corporate office, I would be ashamed of this location bearing my name and shut them down immediately! I am a pretty patient person but not when it comes to service. To start, I walked in and not a single soul looked at me, or sad welcome. Then the lady in front of me, had a large order. So I patiently waited. It's about 10:00 they're been open for about 2 hours and there are two workers here. Only one girl making sandwiches. The other girl was on her phone and what looked like taking inventory? Instead of saying they'll be right with me, or trying to start my sandwiches. So I see some new reviews with Really low ratings and I just had to comment it's changed owners a few times and there's new employees today was exceptional service. The young man helping me was fast efficient and friendly I only had a slider which is $1.99 for a ham and cheese on a small slider buns it was perfect satisfying before the gym and I was very happy it was again quick efficient the place was clean convenient the parking in the shopping center is a little bit dangerous but they do have a new security guard but a 7 foot guy with an orange vest so makes it nice to feel comfortable backing in and out again today I give subway of Waimea five stars read more

I don't know what it is, but when I go to the long chain of subways, it's always different. I walk in and immediately know what I want. Veggie delight :)) Not only could I not understand the girl making my sandwich but the presentation of all my veggies were sloppy. She pretty much threw it on, and left the remaining veggies hanging out of the wrapper. I asked both girls what kind of soup they had. They didn't know. Not even a, 'let me check'. My kids and I absolutely love Subway but was disappointed one night when we stopped for a late dinner. The business hours on the door says its open till 9:30pm.
