Really good quality burgers for a great price. It's that simple, which is why Let's Smash is my…read morefavourite Edmonton burger stop. Burgers are made fresh and smashed just right, not too thin that they crumble at the edges or fall apart in the bun. All burgers are two patty minimum. The most basic burger costs $12, and comes with cheese and a ton of fresh veggie and traditional toppings. A burger combo is $17 and includes a drink. Upgrade to a poutine or a milkshake for a couple of bucks. Their fries are really good, chunky and made fresh. Haven't tried the milkshakes. Proper old-school burger joint food. Compare with fast food and other small local burger places. A quarter pounder at McD's costs $8 these days, crazy. At places like Woodshed or Foxburger, you can't get just a burger, and prices start at $14 (single patty no cheese) or even $20. Drinks are extra. I love these local burger places too, but the burger quality is similar in my opinion, and I really like the style of burger served here. Let's Smash has the Goldilocks "just right" kind of smash, the burger buns hold up to the contents, and the toppings are fresh and flavourful though not as fancy as other places. One time though, I had a burger here that was topped with gyro toppings, specifically the pickled veggies, and it was delicious. We always sit in, there's plenty of seating space, and usually some soccer or European music contests on the TV at a low volume. Service is efficient, order at the counter and have a seat. No alcohol service means less trouble, which is nice for lunch or early supper on Jasper Ave. We generally get friendly service and have never felt forgotten or neglected for the steady stream of delivery drivers.

We ordered original, sweet and hot, and a half and half order of green onion and snow cheese. We also got some fries and gravy. Chicken was excellent, great quality, delicious and crispy, not greasy at all - sweet and hot sauce was so good, gochujang I think. The snow cheese was like a donair sweet sauce with powdered cheese? It was delicious but that's what it seemed like to me lol. The green onion was just original with green onions and a mustard dipping sauce. I wanted to try honey butter but it was not an option online for the half and half or the family pack. Fries were a bit soggy but we crisped them up in our air fryer at home and they were tasty. The restaurant itself was very clean and the service was exceptionally friendly from what I observed of the interactions with the other patrons in the shop. My kid loved the spaghetti, I found it slightly too sweet for my liking, but I can see why people like it.

I got their veggie burger, fries, and a chocolate shake. First off, I'm impressed a classic place like this even has a veggie burger, so that was a plus! The bun was crispy and toasted, and their "baron sauce" was quite flavorful. The patty itself was seasoned nicely and grilled to perfection. Fries are BIG, in a good way. I shared them with a friend and we still had some left over, they're nice and crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The shake was great, but very thick and could've done with being thinned out a fair amount. I felt the straw was insufficient for the amount of sucking needed to get the shake into your mouth. Overall, a great classic burger joint. To note - when I was there (on foot) I was instructed to use the drive thru window, which was strange. But the front counter worker was friendly, prices were reasonable, and they have outdoor seating, which was nice and very reminiscent of an 80's diner.

The gluten free bun was placed onto a separate toasting foil wrap, so not to contaminate and the whole assembly was done on a separate table. Which was awesome. Before I ordered I went onto the app itself to check out some of the sauces, meats and toppings. Love how firehouse puts everything on their site so you can make sure what has gluten and what doesn't.
