I thought it would be a good idea to grab some quick food before getting on Vasco Road. I walked in and was greeted by a young man sweeping the floor. He alerted the staff that they had a customer. A man came out, no smile, and asked for my order. I ordered a #1- 6" Philly, untoasted, on Italian bread. This sandwich artist* wasn't very friendly, but he did make good suggestions for making the sandwich taste good. The sandwich was actually pretty good. Decent amount of meat, and nice balance of veggies. This is a small to medium sized location with some tables. This location is convenient but the workers and quality of sandwiches are terrible. They're not friendly when you walk in, it's like everyone's depressed or sad. You can't see the cold cut counter anymore just the produce. They don't accept Subway coupons here yet, they would like to offer the option to tip. Here's the tip: please improve your sandwich making, quality it fresh ingredients because other subways are not as gross as this one on Highway 4. read more

Want to know something absolutely insane, I paid $12 and some change for this 12" FLAT bread sandwich. No greeting, no napkins, def no tip. Bread was super powdery and at the ends were crusty. Fyi when I worked at Subway, I kept my bar stocked. Man should take his attitude to a gas station. read more

I go to quite a few subways and I only like leaving reviews on the good ones. Today's experience was great! I walked in and they were in the middle of a rush. They got me in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Awesome! The sandwich itself was better than usual but what really made me write this review was the customer service. The girl helping me out was very nice and professional. Made the experience very enjoyable and will definitely be coming back to this location. The store is clean and everything was in stock. The only thing this place has going for it, is it's convenient. I've ordered online multiple times, and it's never ready. We end up waiting 20 or more minutes after the time it's supposed to be ready. Today it was over 40 minutes, which is completely ridiculous. Then our sandwiches were half assed! Raj, the manager would only let me use one coupon per person even though it doesn't say that anywhere. I asked to see it in writing, and she yelled at me, and I had 4 sandwiches obviously not all for me me so my husband had to drive all the way here to use a coupon for his sandwich. I was first in line, but the manager decided to help all of the people behind me first. The other poor girl was left to do all of my sandwiches herself. Twenty minutes later Im still waiting do you woman who helped me is apologizing profusely for her managers behavior, saying I am so sorry. The managers behavior was highly in- appropriate and the nice other woman working there kept apologizing for her bosses, horrible behavior she was embarrassed. Ordered online and the receipt had what we requested, but they did not bother reading it. We stopped going here for a while due to the order always wrong. Today we were in a hurry and tried them again. Husband ordered a veggie foot long light lettuce for me and a foot long cold cut trio for himself. Got home and mine was Mayo and lettuce nothing else. His had no Mayo ,mustard just dry. We called them to let them know and her words were " well you ordered a veggie light lettuce so that's what I gave you" there was no veggies ! Just lettuce and Mayo. She also said he didn't ask for Mayo or mustard so she didn't put it on. His I understand kind of but not the excuse for the veggie. Her attitude wasn't helpful either. I have never had to ask to add mustard or Mayo on my sandwiches ever , the menu says it comes with it . I still don't understand why my veggie had no veggies but according to her that's a veggie, just lettuce. My advice is to not order to go ! This is my second bad experience at this location. The first time I had ordered sandwiches in advance online to do in store pick up, but ended up waiting an additional 45 mins after pick up time for my sandwich. We arrived about 5 mins after pick up time to be told they were just starting on it so we decided to go by McDonald's to grab coffee. After going through the drive thru we waited in the car for 10 mins, returned to the store to be told its actually NOW being started on. Came back after another 15 mins and waited in the store for 5-8 mins for them to finish the order. During the time we were waiting, customers were entering, ordering in person and leaving before my order was even started/done. I received a subway survey from the app after this experience and gave my feedback. The reply was the generic "I'll work with the staff to improve". I thought okay no problem since it was the first time. Today, Subway had a promotion for free 6inch turkey Cali fresh sandwiches. I entered to ask if they were participating in the promo in which the person hesitantly said yes. She made my sandwich and after starting my husband's sandwich (who was there in person) said oh, it's only one free sandwich. The press release clearly says the first 50 consumers to come in. I'm not sure how we are considered 1 consumer since my husband and I could be separate paying customers. I'd understand if I had come in alone and asked for multiple free sandwiches, but that wasn't the case. She tried to play it off like she didn't really read the subway email while also being adamant we were only eligible for 1 free sandwich. I'm not upset that we only got 1 sandwich, but more that she didn't tell us until after she started the second sandwich (which we felt obligated to buy) and just straight lied to us. If we were going to pay $10 for a 6 inch sandwich we would've chose one we actually liked or used the BOGO promo online. We won't be returning to this location. read more

These places are pretty standard and I found this one up to par. It was very clean, organized, quite and everything was laid out well. The staff was quick to help me, made me the exact sandwich I wanted, friendly and nice. The bread was just fine, the produce fresh as well as the chicken breast. Not all Subways are alike so I wanted to rate this one being each time I have gone in they have done a great job. Very polite, and not afraid to add on some food to my sandwich! I was also impressed with their choice of music they play in the store and when someone complained they essentially told them "oh well". In this world where everyone is afraid of offending someone its nice to see a place that will stick to what it is they like ;) I think maybe one rater went in on a bad day, I have lived in DB for quite awhile and havent experienced the " hell" in there during summer. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Unlike most subways, you only have to tell them once what you would like on your sandwich. They listen and give you what you ordered. I have gone in 5 minutes before closing and the Swiss cheese tray was empty. I said I would get another type but they opened a new package just for me. Right before they closed. Best subway I have been to so far. They have great service, they're consistent, and they aren't afraid to pile it on...and I am not talking lettuce (like most others). I go there at least once per week because my job is nearby. I have not been disappointed yet. Their service is excellent. I feel really bad for them during lunch rush sometimes because their manager takes it to heart when people don't get served right away. It shows that she cares about her job. Food: Consistent and worth getting. If you've been to one subway, you've been to them all. This one however, will make you feel a bit more at home than the rest. Seating: Very limited. Would not recommend a whole family ordering here unless they were to take it home. There are only about 4 or 5 tables in the place which gets crowded very easily. Service: Excellent. Great people who aren't afraid to hear about your day. Go ahead, talk to them. Overall: Great place to stop if you are looking for a sandwich on the go. This place is kind of iffy sometimes they are good sometimes they are bad. I use to stop here for my lunch about everyday of work(4-5 times a week) and the meals would vary. I always got the same thing so the only thing that varied was the person that was making it. I know one time I pulled a long strand of hair out from a sandwich when I had lunch at work at it was disgusting, also another time they had left part of the avocado skin on and I bit down on it (not a fun experience). Also the customer service can be lacking sometimes. The lady manager had just finished wrapping my sandwich and another customer cut me in line to the register instead of waiting his turn LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE (get some manners dude) and the lady manager didn't say anything to him and rang him up while making me wait. I know it's only a couple minutes but still if I had been in her shoes I would have told the other guy to please wait while I finish with my first customer (that's the purpose of a line). The male manager who I think is the owner of this location is nothing but nice. Always very personable and never was in a bad mood. The only other thing to mention for a subway is its price. I know they overcharge for their subs. You can make the same sub yourself for about half the price. Most of the subs will reach about $7-10 range unless you get the $6 sub of the day which I usually do. They can be skimpy on their portions which can be frustrating for what you pay. And finally the best thing here on the menu are the cookies. This place make some awesome cookies and they're decently priced. read more

This one is long over due. I have to be honest I am not a huge subway fan but seeing as how quick places to eat are limited around the discovery bay area i frequent this subway. I must say this is the only subway i will ever go to. The staff is super friendly and make my sandwiches just the way i like it without the usual rolling of the eyes and mumbles. There is nothing more i dislike than an sloppy lop sided thrown together sandwich. The bread is always fresh never hard and the place is always clean. To managment - Keep up the good work!! I am giving this location two stars for the following. Number one this is the first location that didn't use paper beneath the sandwich when toasting. Secondly this is the first Subway location that charges for toasting (50 cents) that I've ever encountered.
