Even though she wasn't expecting an open face sandwich, my mom hated the actual meatballs in the sandwich. I tasted them too and they had no flavor. The Italian beef sandwiches were horrible. I've never seen a more greasy sandwich. The giardiniera was a bad jarred version with no spice or flavor. And the Italian beef tasted like horrible leftover pot roast. The bread was decent and that's pretty much all I can say was decent. The place was also dirty with flies and smelled like old cigarettes. Those behind the counter were nice, but I would never come back to this place. My stomach felt horrible from the little bit of the sandwich I managed to eat.

After a brief glance at the menu (and picking up a gummy worm flavored diet mountain dew from their vending machine...), I ordered their Grum Sandwich (7" for $8) without peppers and swapped out the oil for stadium mustard as well as an order of their plain "grumizza" to indulge in for dinner. It was only $2.75!!! How can I resist that?? I am not exaggerating when I say that I would die for this sandwich and I don't know if it was my obsessive ADHD brain talking or not, but it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. There was sooooo much meat on there, the spice mix was amazing, and the bread.... woweeee wow, so soft and fluffy and oh my god delicious. AND IT WAS ONLY 8 DOLLARS. The grumizza made for a great dinner as well. Using the same bread as the sandwiches, they loaded it up with sauce, ooey gooey cheese, and that spice mix I love so much. I hit my carb quota for a week in just one day but my god, was it worth it! I should also mention the place was packed and the diligent staff worked very hard to keep up with all the orders and they did a great job! My only suggestion is adding the ability to provide customers with a glass of water. I DEFINITELY will be back!!!
