The manager stepped up and clarified the communication that this was a new process they just instilled. She credited me a drink, cookies, and a chip, also, my sandwich was amazing. Potbelly is a great place to go if you want an awesome, fresh, "honest" sandwich. I've been coming…read morehere for 20 years, having lived in Chicago since 2005 before moving to Cleveland. This is a Chicago company that I'm glad has landed in Cleveland. I was never a fan of Subway or any of those other places. Potbelly is different. How? Allow me to explain. First, I'll tell you what I usually get, then build from there. I love their turkey, Swiss, and avocado--my absolute fave. Their Italian "Wreck" is Ah-Mazing. The new prime rib is also excellent. For these sandwiches to work, you really need to start with fresh ingredients, or they'll be awful. After they come out of the oven, they add the avocado. I usually add the lettuce, onion, tomato, and a heaping helping of mayo and giardiniera or hot peppers. They're SO good. Their sandwiches are stuffed with ingredients, regardless of which size you get. The Skinny is filling; that's their smallest size. But wait, there's more! Their bagged chips are sui generis to Potbelly. I haven't even seen them sold in Chicago. But they pair perfectly with their sandwiches. Now, I recommend washing this all down with a bit of sweetness. Their Dream Bars are AH-MAZING. Grab one, even if you save it for later. I love them. I'm a big fan of their lemonade because I'm just sick of carbonated sodas. Folks, Clevelanders....it's worth your while to give this place an honest shot! Potbelly... bring back the PB&J! Nothing like a good, toasted, PB&J!

If you're not familiar, the concept is classic Americana drive-up restaurant. Park your car and turn your lights on for service. Then, you can either eat in your car with the service tray over your window, or take your order to go. I get friendly service 10/10 times and I get quick service 6/10 times. Focusing on being able to serve customers faster would be my suggestion for this particular location - it has seemed especially slow in the latter half of 2025. Despite the occasional slowness, the food we get is consistently great, and the prices are shockingly good. I have especially loved the menu collaborations and specials Swenson's has been doing. The fact that area companies support each other in this way is something that truly makes Cleveland special. The Cordelia / Swenson's pimento cheeseburger with Kool-aid pickles was outstanding. The Larder / Swenson's collab was just as good - giving us loaded deli fries with pastrami spices. They've also started running a monthly whip special, which one server told me doesn't seem to be that popular, but it has kept me coming back with more frequency because I just have to try the newest iteration. So far, the Dr. Pepper whip (August) and the chocolate mint whip (December) have been my favorites.

You order food at the counter, online or at the drive thru and they do have indoor seating. The menu consisted of soup, salad, deli sandwiches and spuds (baked potatoes). They offer a "choose 2" option, which is 1/2 soup, salad, sandwich or spud + another half for $10.99. There is an up charge for Premium options that are marked with a red "P". My total was $12.19 including tip for the Choose 2. I tried the 1/2 spud with chili and cheese and 1/2 grilled chicken club sandwich. Food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was Excellent! Nice decor too with big screen TV's and clean restrooms.Highly recommend McAlister's!

I did want the sauerkraut to have more tang, and I think the dressing got somewhat lost in the mix, but I still thought it was a tasty sandwich. The $12.99 price tag also came with a pickle and a small side of unremarkable but serviceable potato salad. I was pleased to see that the soda fountain came stocked with Diet Dr. Pepper. I'm accustomed to restaurants only offering diet Coke/Pepsi for zero-sugar soda options. For dessert, I got a slice of the Colossal Carrot Cake, which didn't quite live up to its name, though it was a sizeable slice. The cake was moist, and if you like carrot cake, you'll probably be happy with McAlister's. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean.
