Pretty consistent quality. The broccoli soup was pretty good. My turkey sub was made just how I like it.

There were quite a few people in line and the parking lot was full. We found out you can order online, but we were in line already and just stuck it out. They have a very large menu and I kind of wish it was more consolidated and easier to read, but I guess you can't really go wrong with burgers and shakes from here. I ordered the fried mushrooms, a cheeseburger and a cherry shake. Everything was delicious. It's fast food, so I wasn't expecting much. The burger isn't like the best burger I ever had, but it's like $5 and decent. The cherry shake was perfection. And the mushrooms were salty, crisp and hot. Good food and cheap prices. There are a few tables outside but we took our food back home to eat.

The prices were great, the burgers were delicious and the service was pretty good. We got some lolly rings to go, and we were worried they would be soft by the time we finished lunch, but they were still nicely frozen still when we were ready to bust them out. They have a huge menu, which may be why things were a little slow to come out, but at a better quality than some average chain, so that's not too bad.

I decided to Yelp a nice spot for breakfast as we were coming from Bozeman. I found Great Harvest and knew this was the spot we needed to stop at! We pulled up and parked in the back. We came in through the back entrance. If you are looking for something super fancy and such this is not for you. The space is a bakery. They aren't meant to be pretty. But they make up for it with the food. The decor is quaint and makes you feel like home. I'd take a hole in the wall spot with amazing food over a fully decked out space with mediocre meals. The staff was friendly and helpful. We chatted with them for awhile and they had amazing suggestions. We went with them all. The food was great. I had the ham and cheese omelette. My friend had the Big Butte Breakfast. One thing we both agreed on is that we wish the potatoes were a little more cooked and crispy. Besides that it was awesome. The breads are epic. He had a coffee and I had a tea. The tea is a very strong brewed black tea. Brent said the coffee was great. We decided to buy some cookies, brownies and cinnamon rolls to take back home. Also some loaves of bread. Over all a great experience. Thanks so much to the staff for making it a great stop! Would definitely go back! Nothing like homemade food cooked with love!

I did ask to add an extra egg and they did! Much appreciated. I also chose their cinnamon toast! For lunch my husband had another sandwich and I had a salad! All fresh tasting! It was very difficult not to order a pastry. They had lemon bars, pumpkin bars, and cinnamon rolls! Maybe next time.

Didn't know what a pasty ("pahstee") was, but it intrigued me, so I wanted to check it out. We…read morewere definitely glad we did. Our server (Michelle, I think?) was super friendly and sweet, and we really enjoyed talking with her. Coleslaw! Beets! Gravy! The food was delicious. The pasties had meat and potatoes in a crusty pastry pocket, and were smothered in a savory, rich brown gravy. Our pasties also came with some pickled beets and coleslaw, which were both very tasty as well. The interior furnishings of the restaurant is fairly simple with basic tables and chairs, and they also have a bar top seating area. Nice simple decor. There's a good size parking lot outside with plenty of spaces. The stars of our visit were definitely the food and the service. We did not spend much time in Butte, but if we ever make it back for any reason, I'm sure we'll stop in to enjoy Joe's Pasties again.

Unfortunately, I just don't quite understand the hype of the pasty and it's kinda like a shepherd's pie but without any vegetables - just meat, potatoes, and onions. I would recommend getting the gravy because without it, it's quite dry. The pasty is large and it could be split between 2-3 people depending on how hungry people are. Was interesting to try local cuisine, but ultimately not for me as a non-local. From an outsider perspective, I do wish sweet pastys were offered. When I first heard about it, I thought it was adjacent to pastries in general, but there doesn't seem to be such a thing... just a thought!

This is a "go to"location to pick up this classic Butte pork chop sandwich for carry out, but I'll also go to the Freeway Tavern for the same as a sit down meal restaurant. This sandwich was noted on YouTube as the classic Butte sandwich, with creation long ago, and still it's the "go to" sandwich in Butte!

I have had the pork chop sandwiches at other Butte, Montana locations, but it never worked out to try the original until now. I was SO excited!! This location is in the Uptown area. Very convenient for us, as we were only staying a couple blocks away. There is an exterior order/pickup window, and very limited stool/counter sitting inside. (About 10 stools, I think.) I really wanted the full experience, so we went inside and took a seat. There were only two other customers sitting at the counter. The gentleman inside grabbed an order pad and a pen and walked up to us. We said hi. He said hi. We waited for him to adk for our order, but he just kept doodling, so we finally told him what we wanted: two pork chop sandwiches, one order of fries, and one large milkshake. A few minutes later he returned with two sandwiches and sort of tossed them at us. About 4-5 minutes later, he tossed a paper bag of fries in our direction. Then he stood in front of us, with his back to us, and made a milkshake for a customer that came in after us. Then he mixed up ranch dressing and started filling cups with the dressing. Also with his back to us. (We sat directly in front of the milkshake machine.) He did not acknowledge us again. We did not receive our milkshake. When we got up to leave, I thought he might turn around and give us our bill, but he continued to ignore us. Would not even turn around. So I walked down the counter to where the cash register was located, thinking he might come and take our money then. Nope. He would not even turn around. There was a guy standing just to the side of us on the other side of the counter. He was cooking the food. He sort of ignored us for a couple of minutes as well, but he was really busy, so I understood why he didn't have time for us. He finally did ask us what we had, and I told him "two pork chop sandwiches and one order of fries. And a large milkshake, but we never got that." He replied, "Ok. $15.75" and that was it. No surprise, apology, explanation, nothing. Sort of seemed like he was used to it. I regret it now, but I gave him a $20 and walked out. That was too much of a tip for what was possibly the rudest, worst service we have ever received. I will never go back to this place. It was incredibly disappointing. The best pork chop sandwich is just down the road at Freeways Tavern. I will be going there for my pork sandwich fix from now on. Oh.... I better talk about the food. The service was so bad, I forgot. The breaded pork patty is very thin. But it is tender and good. The sandwich itself was decent size. It came with mustard, onion, pickle, lettuce, and tomato - as a pork chop sandwich should. The fries were crispy. Everything was very hot. There are better pork chop sandwiches in Butte. But this is the original, so every other one is a copy of this one. Too bad the horrible, rude service will keep us away.
