When one is driving through the backroads of South Carolina on a road trip, one does not SIMPLY…read morestop whenever they want to for lunch. You're not going to have a huge selection of restaurants, and often what you find will just be fast food. When I can, I like to try out a little of the local flavor, even if it is just a simple sandwich or meat and two place like this one. Pulling into Bennettsville, it had that small hometown feel, and I knew there had to be a good local place to have lunch. It being a Monday provided some obstacle, but we eventually found Southern Delights open and ready for business. When we arrived, it was nice to see a good local crowd enjoying them for lunch. Our server was buzzing around from table to table with haste, and was very nice, probably too over apologetic for any wait. She did a great job. There is a lot to enjoy here, plenty of country style cooking and an extensive sandwich menu. The prices are very reasonable. It's the kind of place that serves their community, not trying to be fancy, just good food and service! I decided to go with a club sandwich and onion rings, while my wife went for the reuben and fries. My club sandwich was good, and the onion rings were great. Perfectly crispy. The club had an ample amount of meat, though I'd have liked to have seen a different size bread. With the sandwich quartered, the basic sandwich slice white bread made the pieces a little unruly. Or maybe just cut it in half (though i know a club is traditionally quartered). My wife really enjoyed here reuben, cole slaw instead of kraut, and her fries were cooked perfectly. Generous portion on both the fries and onion rings which you love to see. Our tea was also spot on, just enough sweet to make a perfectly balanced half and half. Overall, is this place going to blow you away? No. But I am definitely giving it a 5 for knowing exactly what it is, and executing in a way you'll be happy with if you visit. If I ever pass through again and need a bite, I know where to go!

I always go with cheese (you have to ask for it here), grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, ketchup, and of course the most important, mustard (you can argue with me about mustard but you will be wrong). Usually, I get two quesadillas as sides but this time I asked for onion rings and fried okra. The sides were decent but the burger, oh yeah, it was on point. Hot, juicy, grilled deliciousness, and definitely messy. It's not something you want to eat while driving especially if you're wearing a white shirt. Enjoy these delicious burgers and choose your toppings wisely.

Hometown McDonald's visit September 24 , 2019…read more I grew up in Bennettsville during the 70's and 80's . I even worked here in high school 1984 - 85 then went into the Army . We ran this place efficiently and clean , constantly cleaning which you don't see unfortunately in fast food places anymore . We did see a nice lady cleaning the lobby while we were there and talked with her about when we worked there . The bathroom was also clean . We ordered our food and it was hot and correct . The cashier wasn't rude , but not very friendly . I remember how busy we were during the Myrtle Beach traffic in the summer time during the 80's . It was crazy , but we did a great job . So many memories even though the place has been renovated over the years and the lady in the lobby said they will be renovating again . It is what it is , McDonald's .

Since…read moreit's strategically located to bring in beach traffic from spring through fall, shutting it down is not a real option. But something has to change. This particular McDonald's has -- without hyperbole -- the worst staff of any fast food restaurant I've ever patronized. Within the last month alone, I've attempted to pick up five app orders via the drive thru between 10pm and 1am. Only one order was completed, and I sat at the drive thru speaker for 15 minutes waiting for an employee. The other four attempts ended in me being lied to about a "10 minute wait" or simply being ignored completely. I've now finally decided to give up on the McDonald's franchise for good. Clearly, I've been patient. I understand that occasionally restaurants are understaffed and I'm willing to allow for that more often than the average person. However, this has become the standard, rather than an exception.

The soda fountain was out of everything we tried to get and sad thing was this was past the lunch rush and they weren't even busy. This was my family's first and last experience with a Bojangles. Do not stop here literally go anywhere else in this town if I could give a worse review I would. Sadly every review they have is bad so management and ownership clearly don't care.

I said let's stop and get a bucket and make our own sides for Friday night dinner. The price has spiked up a bit except for $10 Tuesdays you get eight pieces chicken for 10 bucks. We went through the drive through and usually I would check the bag but I just knew it was going to be like old times. The girl at the window didn't look too happy herself like she was giving us a hint. The place wasn't too busy at all as what I'm use to seeing at a KFC. When we arrived home omg the chicken looked terribly overcooked almost burnt. I was highly disappointed because it's at least 13 miles away. I was upset with myself for not doing what I always tell others to check your bag before you drive away. I couldn't eat it had to feed it to my dog. What a waste of time and money.
