I remember when this used to be the Sanitary Cafe and Harry ran the place. He had a small display case with some of his old military stuff in it from when he was in World War 2. I was happy to see the stainless steel wall cover still there behind the counter. I met a friend of mine for lunch on my way to Myrtle Beach. We've been friends since 3rd Grade ! I had the Country Ham Plate with Mac-n-Cheese , Mashed Potatoes and Gravy , Roll , and Sweet Tea. He had the Patty Melt with Fries. I love getting Country Ham when I come home to visit because we can't get it in Las Vegas. It was good , but I have to say the portion was a little smaller than I expected. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was good , but the Mac-n-Cheese I didn't really care for. Sweet Tea was on point. My friend liked his Patty Melt and fries. He knew our waitress and she was nice enough to take a picture of us. Bennettsville is still the small town community that I remember and grew up in. I would love to see it grow again like many places have even though all the jobs moved away years ago when the factories moved overseas. My father and I walked the streets of Bennettsville everyday after he got off work and we visited many of the shopkeepers after his first heart attack to give him some exercise. He grew up in Bennettsville and never moved as many of the people that he grew up with. Bennettsville was a tight knit community then and I know the ones that I grew up with still have this place in their heart even being thousands of miles away like me.

I grew up in Bennettsville , SC back in the 70's and 80's and that's the way it was back then. Oklahoma is like that and it's such a pleasure that Oklahoma is the same way. I got the All Star Breakfast with Scrambled Eggs , Bacon, Grits , Waffle , Toast and Coffee. I usually get the Country Ham , but decided to do Bacon instead. The Coffee was perfect. I went to Waffle House in Myrtle Beach last month and it was weak and not good. Grits were very good , cooked properly and just the right amount of butter. Waffle perfect as always. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and good. Bacon was good and not overcooked. Who could give this place a bad review ? I highly recommend coming here for breakfast , lunch , dinner , or late night food.
