This subway is conveniently located for travelers and it's a block away from El Dorado Inn. Must try it, service is welcoming and it has good vibe for Baker city. I have been eating here for 5 day straight as am vegetarian and have been eating the veggie delight. I don't think they offer soup, it's cold city and in the winter they should offer. Parking is plenty for van, bus, cars. View is really good if you are going to eAt here as you can see snow caps on mountains from window. read more

I'm not one that often posts reviews but this Subway was genuinely laughable. Service was slow which isn't something I mind, but the lack of ingredients was astonishing. They only had one type of bread available and the entire beverage counter was out of order. Employees were running back and forth from the back to scavenge for ingredients. I really hope a change in management occurs because subway is nice on road trips! read more

This was the most ridiculous "quick service" food stop I've ever experienced. And I don't just blast places with bad reviews, especially QSRs because I understand situations happen (I'm not expecting much). It was like Jim Gaffigan's bit, only worse. This was beyond that. It was incomprehensibly bad. My family of 4 and pup had been driving for 3+ hours and needed a quick bite and bathroom before another 3hrs. We stopped at subway because it was fast, and it wasn't just a burger and fries--but in hindsight, we should've just gone to McDs. The bathroom was clean and efficient. Done. Now for the eating fresh part. It took FORTY-FIVE-MINUTES just to make it through 6 normal Subway customers. It was not packed, they weren't short-staffed, they weren't bombarded with complicated sandwiches or big orders. 45mins to get to our order is not ever acceptable. It might be time to go back to sandwich school. Our order was the largest, with 3 sandwiches, and that took nearly 10mins to complete. So we're at damn-near an hour--just to get our food and we still need to eat it. And the sandwiches were not even good by Subway standards. Really, really disappointed. Don't make the same mistake. I like to go to Subway for something fresh to eat when I am traveling. The staff about anywhere is usually cheerful and consistent. The staff in Baker City however was rude and angry. I could not understand what they were asking me, it was an unpleasant experience. I asked one of the fellows behind the counter if they were having a really bad day. He looked at me quickly and did not answer. I do not think those employees were happy at all. Sorry I ate there, got heartburn from this experience. There are a LOT of food choices in Baker City, OR. I don't usually leave reviews but I'm horrified. We ordered online and my husband picked it up when he got home I realized he had only brought one drink home no chips no apple sauce pouch for the kids meal. I honestly was going to let it go because mistakes happen but they let my husband leave without letting him know he needed to grab the chips and drinks himself. Than I go to eat my sandwich and unwrap it and there is a 1" curly black hair stuck right on the mayo of my smashed sandwich. I called them right away so they could remake my sandwich and I could just pick it up. But no, the phone rang and rang and rang and I hung up and called 3 more times with no answer. So unless you want to be ignored and have hair in your food I'd find somewhere else to go! read more

Dawn did not provide good customer service at all. She should be fired. I walk in she didn't even ask what kind sandwich I wanted. Her first impression was just staring at me like I'm suppose to read her mind to when I'm suppose to order. In addition, more people walked in towards the end of the hour and she said under her breath " gosh I hate people" then customer behind me told her "hi" and dawn replied with "bye"! Lady at cash register kept trying to ring up my sale before I was finished. She complained about me "buying all the cookies". I had to empty my sandwiches, chips and cookies out of the bag to find a lid for my drink on the bottom of the bag, and the straw was jammed inside one of the sandwiches. Terrible service. read more

The woman employee (who had pins for 2-3 years of experience) was extremely rude to us and the rest of the customers in the store. She kept doing unnecessary things and was not helping the young guy make any sandwiches. She kept banging things around and even went and locked the door (three hours before closing!). It was very obvious she didn't like her job and didn't want customers in the store. She didn't even put all our items in the bag for us but just left them all on the counter to do it ourselves. This was my first time ordering through the Subway app. I stayed behind at the hotel and sent my husband to pick up the order after a long day on the road driving from Portland with three kids and two dogs. The order in its entirety was not provided. I wrote to the management through the website explaining that I would like to have reimbursement for the items in some way via refund on my card or even a gift card for future use. Decided to give them a second chance. No seasoned bread, again. No lettuce....NO .LETTUCE (Safeway is like 2 blocks away) The lady picking it up added spinach so I would have something...I don't like spinach. As you can see from the picture one side has 3 slivers of onion. No provolone cheese. As one person said earlier, this place doesn't give a crap about their customers. Done with them. This is probably the worst experience I have ever had at subway in my entire life. I walked in with my family and there was a huge line, witch I would usually have no problem with. The thing is, there was an employee literally just standing in the same spot for the entire 30 minutes we waited there doing absolutely nothing. We left and went to Pizza Hut instead. I am honestly disgusted. I love subway so this was a huge disappointment. That kid needs to be fired. Someone else that actually understands what work is should have his job and maybe there wouldn't be a huge line full of parents and grumpy kids while he just gazes out the window contemplating weather he's going to eat fried chicken or mac n' cheese when he gets home. Wow the only reason this Subway has a three is because of one rude employee who works there. At approximately 7:59 pm on 5/1/19 my husband and I encountered the rudest employee named Dawn. She was so rude off the bat, didn't listen to our sandwich orders, repeatedly asked us what cheese we wanted or if we wanted it toasted even though we kindly told her several times what we wanted, all while being ill-mannered, curt, and disrespectful. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch with rotisserie chicken and she had the audacity to tell me that I can't have rotisserie chicken on my sandwich. She said "this is the chicken it comes with so this is the chicken you're getting". Whoa. I told her I ordered it exactly like this before but really couldn't believe she was talking so spitefully to me. We were honestly taken aback and it is hard to believe this employee took it upon herself to be so insolent and bad mannered for NO REASON. Just because she is not capable of acting courteously doesn't give her the right to refuse to give customers what they ask for on their sandwich regardless of extra costs. Is Subway okay with the lost revenue this employee loses by refusing to grant the extras? It was just odd and unnecessary. At that point my husband and I just wanted to get our food and go home and not even deal with any of this impertinence. The only reason we didn't walk out was because of the other employee at the register. This location actually has the potential for 4+ stars if it weren't for Dawn. Every other employee who works there is kind, nice, friendly, and remembers what you've ordered before. No business should have an employee like this, in fact she is the perfect example of terrible customer service and how not to behave. I will definitely be contacting the manager and corporate complaints regarding this appalling employee. In the past we have always hoped she wasn't working when we'd come in because she has always been unpleasant, nevertheless we always treated her with respect and understanding. Maybe she had a hard day or some other reasoning - but we shouldn't have to make excuses for an employee's discourtesy. Honestly, my husband and I feel like we never will purchase another thing from this company again because apparently Subway thinks that hiring and maintaining such a horrendous employee is okay. We never wanted to cause problems or complain before but this was the last straw. Come on Subway, your customers deserve better or pretty soon you won't have any more. You just lost two, and who knows how many more Dawn has caused you to lose. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this experience, and she has never been pleasant but this was beyond anything we've experienced before. Your customers deserve better. Update: The manager was extremely helpful and promised to severely reprimand this employee and make up for the sandwiches we bought that weren't the way we wanted.
