Probably one of the worst companies in American history. Low integrity and terrible customer service. You own your tank but sign up for service with them? It's their tank now .... unless it need service ... then it's actually yours. lol. Don't worry, they will call you back ....NEVER. Filled the neighbors tank but billed me. They acknowledged the mistake and "fixed" it by charging me again. Seriously. 3 monthly later we were finally credited. Red tagged our system, secretly. No propane in a house full of kids in January with temps below zero. The reason? Because the neighbor's tank was hard to get to so they flagged our tank as inaccessible. Don't ever trust Rochester Surburan propane. They tell you one thing and never seem to follow through with being there when they say they are going to be, not even the same day they tell you, even when they know you are traveling from out of town and they confirm someone Will be there, still a no show, all day. After your money is in their pocket you can forget about ANY further assistance. Its been a struggle dealing with these (in my opinion) IDIOTS! I want my account closed and their tank removed so I can remove my property off the land and all you get is a big run around. I am presently very upset with Suburban Propane. As a Senior citizen who depends on propane for heat, my automatic fill response was let run dry in February 2022. Now April less than 15%, call for delivery since this "automatic" delivery has become less than reliable. Told I would be charged $100+ for emergency delivery and "they will be there this week." I will be out of town for Easter and fear the worst AGAIN! I fell for their pre pay system, and their "automatic" response fill up but that is just a come on. Ripping off seniors on a fixed income and less than responsible follow up with propane delivery required for heat is outrageous in Upstate NY with very cold winters. Time to look for a new company! read more

I switched my furnace from oil to propane. Suburban filled my oil tank immediately before I switched, against my directions. They now agree they owe me the money back, but I have been fighting them for it since June 2023. It is now December 2023 and I am beginning small claims court proceedings. read more

Very disappointed with their service. We have used this company for many years and during this time of the year, after we have our pool opened, we are always low on propane. Realizing the holiday weekend was coming up we called a week ago to have our propane filled. Please keep in mind we typically pay close to $1,000/month for this service. I was contacted several days later and was told I needed to wait until it was 5% or lower and then I needed to call and have an emergency fill-with a $175 fee on top!!! What?!?! We called a week ago to have this taken care of. We are now being told that we need to wait until we run out of propane while our family and friends are here for a picnic before they will come and fill it.. read more

This review was suppose to be for Superior Plus Propane and not jSuburban Propane ??????This company has come out with new terms and conditions which force customers to either commit to a three-year contract or terminate service in the middle of the heating season. I received their email on December 28, 2018 with the new terms and conditions. Don't know how this happened!!! read more

They are the most infuriating company to work with. My husband and I wanted to switch to a different propane company, during this process, not only did they have bad prices, they lied to us. They would not come grab there tank in a reasonable amount of time which prevented us from getting a tank delivered by another company. They were obstructing a new tank from being placed due to space constraints as we only have a small ledge for our propane and with them not removing theirs, we could not have a new one placed.. They told us to use their propane since they could not grab the tank, and then they LOCKED IT 1 hour later. They lied to us and left their giant tank on our lawn after repeated pleading to move it. They are unreasonable, poorly priced, and have horrible customer service. I'm so shaken and upset, and I've never worked with a more frustrating company in my entire life. Stay away from this company and save yourself the trouble. read more
