This continued for over a week during the coldest stretch of the year, leaving us without heat for almost two weeks with children and animals in the home. Attempts to reach the emergency line were unsuccessful, including a full voicemail box and long hold times with no response. As a result of running out of propane in below-freezing temperatures, our radiant heat system froze and sustained almost $40,000 in damage. We were forced to switch providers, and the new company restored service within one day. We understand delays can happen, but the lack of follow-through and communication during a heating emergency was deeply disappointing.

When we picked up the truck, Margaret, the receptionist, marked the fuel as quarter filled. When we checked, it was empty. She tried to fix it by calling managers or whatever. She cant fix it. But we took a video and photo for proof. She signed the receipt that it is in fact empty fuel. She adviced us to just return it same as empty. We returned the truck at poughkeepsie with the fuel as more than a quarter. The guy there checked it and we have a photo and video for that. BUT STILL WE WERE CHARGED 21 dollars. I called the Elmira branch and spoked with MARIAH. She is not nice at all. She did not fix the issue. But instead,She argued with me and never listen to me but instead raised. her voice on me. She claimed thats not there fault but the system and the other branch fault. But the fact she is rude to me is very unacceptable. Matt Finch at this Elmira location quickly diagnosed the reason why the taillights of our 5X8…read moreU-Haul weren't working when connected to our vehicle. The wire connecting the vehicle and the U-Haul got loose (due to being poorly secured by Rockville MD pickup location) and snapped in two after getting dragged on the ground and probably caught up in the securing chains. Matt realized that the harness computer shorted out (Toyota dealership hadn't installed an inline fuse!) and he wired in a new computer. He had to remove the plastic liner and wall pieces of the vehicle trunk and spliced in a new component and (this time, properly) an inline fuse, like a pro - he said that he does all of the harness installations at that location but was also working the front desk that day. Positive, can-do, and friendly attitude. Absolutely the best experience I've had with U-Haul and better than the Toyota dealership that could have mitigated this and was unwilling to tell us what fuse they wired the harness through. Three cheers for Matt!! He went above and beyond and literally saved our camping vacation to Canada!
