My wife requested service and was told unit was out of warranty and service call would be $300 plus parts. Unit has two year warranty and $300 is a rip off. I read manual 'trouble shoot' and found controller needed to be reset, this fixed the problem. It took longer to take front panel off that repair. Fireside Hearth & Home is price gouging. Stay Away!!!!!!

No excessive pressure to buy now or anything. We came back and just finalized things including schedule of install. First objective, have a Fireside assessor come out and confirm all the dimensions and setup. This guy was professional, offered options and again, no pressure on the options. I wanted the higher quality fireplace and this meant opening up my brick. Yes, it added to the cost (about $400), but the gentleman did not try to "sell" me either way. My decision. We received an email with all the dates and times of install (the process is for all these companies - install all the components, get city inspector to review, then finish the installation with hookup). There were NO surprises around this. At time of first visit, the Chimney Doctors arrived promptly and did there work quick. The installers were lined up right after them, but didn't arrive right away to take the old fireplace out. No problem, the Chimney Doctors took care of it and continued. Fireside guys came in and did quick work. Signed the papers, scheduled City inspector to come same day - all done by the crew. City inspector came out the same day. He was a pain in the ____ and stated the gas valve had to be moved - even though the gas line that they hooked up to has been there with no issues before. I think the City inspector was mad about his troubles getting up my driveway. Inspector said he would contact Fireside. Final hookup, I go up to the installer while he was working and asked him if the City Inspector contacted them to tell them about the adjustments needed... he did not contact them. No worries... Fireside installer contacted his boss, they finished the job and scheduled to get the gas line moved. Same crew comes over that did the original install and they couldn't believe why they had to adjust the line. I don't blame them, but they did what they had to anyways. On top of it, my boiler system was acting up while they were there. One of the guys looked at it, since he was in HVAC for many years, and offered suggestions on who and how to fix. Very helpful. All in all - This was the easiest experience I have had in a long time from start to finish from a company. I was concerned about paying a higher cost, but either way, it was very much worth it knowing I got a quality install by professional friendly people.

Love the heat that is now going in the room instead of up the chimney. We have another fireplace and when we redo that room, will certainly be back for another.

My frustration in trying to make an appointment with Woodland Stoves, along with other incidents,…read morehas prompted me to express myself in hopes that management might reflect on this feedback and revisit certain business practices. I will try to be objective. 1) Purchased a wood stove from them 8 years ago. It was difficult to get the attention of anybody working there, but eventually we were helped. 2) Purchased a hearth pad at the same time. The design was wrong upon delivery - too late to change. 3) Installation by them was okay. Employees were patient, efficient and friendly. They had, however, initially positioned the hearth pad the wrong way. My wife, who was present, corrected them, but they had already drilled the hole for the stovepipe in the ceiling, so things were a little off. I can live with it. Clean up was great. 4) We also hired Woodland Stoves to service our wood stove every two years. Scheduling was a bit difficult, but the wait was no more than two months, and things were done rather efficiently. 5) Having Woodland Stoves change out the hearth pad was marked by poor or no communication on their part. I had the feeling that they were not very invested in helping me with this, and when the error in communication came to light, the exchange turned sour. Frustrating. 6) Day of installation of the new hearth pad - and cleaning - was great. Workers were again kind and thorough. 7) This summer I have tried to schedule an appointment for a routine service. There is an online form one can fill out and submit. One can also call and have information taken from you. For some reason, my attempts to get an appointment have gotten nowhere. I filled out the online form twice and called once. Supposedly, this only puts you in a QUEUE for the scheduler. After three weeks, I have not been contacted, neither via email nor by phone. There is no mention made via phone conversation or online of a suggested timeline for a simple response. This has been beyond frustrating. At the very least, service representatives should make some mention of when to receive notification. I feel that my request has been buried, forgotten or ignored, and this has prompted me to finally take my business elsewhere. Three attempts - and three weeks - is beyond acceptable. I was never even contacted by them with a suggested date for the cleaning. I submitted an online request with another company and got a personal response within 24 hours. To me, this speaks volumes of a company's actual service, and I look forward to doing business with them. Woodland Stoves - I really, really tried.....
