This store was awful. Poorest and most unprofessional place I have ever been. Not surprised to see it closed.

This was one of the first places I went to look at wedding gowns and I still have some of the pictures of me in those first wedding dresses I ever tried on. I came on impulse by myself as I didn't have any family in the Omaha area and was ready to start getting an idea of what the theme of the wedding was going to be. The woman that met and assisted me trying on gowns was so incredibly nice. She helped me in and out of the gowns, took numerous pictures and videos so I could share them with my family and friends and ensured I had everything I needed. I tried on several gowns that I really liked and they were all reasonably priced. I still didn't know what style I was even looking for. It wasn't until I moved and we settled into our new home in a different state and began putting the wedding details together, that I was able to decide on what type of gown I wanted. My experience at this shop though was great and I really appreciated their personalized attention and their lovely gown selection. read more

I found my perfect dress at suburban bridal! I took it to the seamstress they recommended and had sleeves added to complete it to make it exactly the way I wanted and I felt beautiful on my wedding day! I tried so many dresses at it feels like every store in omaha and this was my last store. This was the only place I could find a dress that had everything I wanted and the ladies here made sure I felt beautiful and were so helpful! Let me start off with I walked out of the appointment, after trying multiple dresses that didn't fit me (I'm a size 10, which is sample size) let me give you a summary of how my trip went here. Walked in, got greeted and basically shocked the hell out of them that I had an appointment. Then was asked my preferences (fit and flare with illusion neckline but was open to anything just not strapless and a lot of bling) Got told to look at the mannequins (all 6 of them they had up front) and then directed to our seats, which also included us walking straight through another bride's "yes to the dress moment" to get to our corner in the back next to a dressing room that would make Walmart look like a high end boutique. I don't even remember my clerks name, bc I'm almost positive she didn't tell me between talking crap about her other employees (a girl missed work bc she was in a car accident and waiting on the police to file a report, but apparently this was unacceptable and she should have been at work). Move to dress #1. This dress had nothing I desired or described, OH and it was a size 8 size. Meaning I had to squeeze my size 10 butt and thighs in it meaning I looked like an overstuff sausage with rolls for days. Nope, not the dress for me. Onto dress #2. A "sexy little number" as described by my clerk who was now 10 minutes into a phone call that had her all into a tizzy apparently. Again, a dress I didn't like at all that didn't match any description I had given her. At this point, my maid of honor shows her a picture I've been obsessing over of a dress in there store, she searched for 1p minutes and brought it up. IT WAS A SIZE 4. she told me not to be alarmed, however, there was no chance of me getting that thing to fit on me. Dreams are crushed. However, clerk isn't done, she asks me if I wanna go out and show my maid of honor. Umm, no thank you. I would rather not show her how I can't fit into a dress I've been dreaming about. Next dress, exactly everything I told her I didn't want, and not only that, but it was again, too small to fit. At this point, I start showing her dresses from their Facebook albums of dresses I would like, and she flat out tells me, those aren't from that store. When I say it's from their site, she says oh yeah probably a private collection. Go to try on one more dress, it's too small again and I say I'm done and ask how they expect to sell brides dresses when they have small sizes... her answer was they have plenty of large sizes, but my fit and flare dresses are for smaller frames. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I'm 5'8. 168 pounds. And whether or not I'm a small or big frame, you should be prepared for any bride that walks through your doors. You killed my self esteem and the fact that you wouldn't let me go browse your collection and continuously brought dresses that I said I didn't want... I have no idea how you even sell yourself as a bridal boutique. Don't go here. Don't waste your time unless you're wanting to go somewhere that doesn't listen to what you want, nor has sample sizes they can make you feel like a beautiful bride in. read more

My daughter and I had an appointment yesterday. When we arrived, the first clerk introduced herself and said she was new, which was fine. Then two more gals popped out of the office and they were introduced and said they would help clerk #1. Wow, a bit overwhelming. We proceeded to get a "Suburban Bridal 101" history and their process. My daughter pointed out a couple of dresses she would be interested in trying on. The owner, said she would also pull dresses she thought my daughter would like. They took her to a changing room, which had several dresses ready for her to try on. Only one of them, was one she was interested in. The gal put her in hideous, outdated dresses, then the owner had to come in to "pin" them to make them somewhat fit. Odd, most salons use clamps or assume you are able to figure out what the dress should fit like, because you're not stupid. Then comes the next lesson: "Lace 101". OY! (Seriously, brides just want to try on pretty dresses THEY like, pick one, then leave.) Next dress: the owner then asked if they could pin the dress strap to her bra. Now, my daughter who is needle phobic, politely said she would prefer not. She got a tongue lashing about "how she's never stuck anyone yet!" My daughter was getting frustrated with the experience and so was I. Still, trying on more dresses pulled by the owner, she kept smiling and trying to be kind to these three senior clerks. After an hour, we shared that this was overwhelming for my daughter and perhaps we needed to go. After getting dressed and getting ready to go, the owner stopped my daughter and lectured her on "how she shouldn't worry about the dress, she should worry about her future husband and how you marry forever...." Seriously? Where did this come from? Now, neither myself nor my daughter could speak, as we were in shock that this STRANGER had the audacity to lecture my daughter, in front of me, about her future husband & marriage. Wow! We were both so shocked, we politely said thank you for your time and left. My daughter nearly cried she was so upset and I was shaking with frustration. We will never recommend this salon with it's outdated, overly decorated gowns, much less it's overbearing, non-listening, busy-body, out of touch women. Such a disappointment! read more

I love my dress, it's absolutely stunning. But if you're looking for a magical wedding dress moment in a bridal shop, this isn't the place for you. I set an appointment ahead of time as the website suggested, provided the number of people is be bringing, and my dress size. I showed up day of, with little to no accommodations - no special place for us to set up, no champagne, no dresses pulled in my size. It was if I just walked in and didn't make an appointment. What's the point of making an appointment if you don't get any special treatment as a bride? I was in tears as I tried on my first dress, as the lady was rudely shoving me into a dress that didn't fit (none in my size were pulled) and commenting on my body. Luckily, my sister and company made me feel much better. I ended up finding my dress, and it's stunning! When I went to do my measurements, I was WAY over measured by the assistant. I'm a 36 B-C and I was told I needed "the largest size possible to accommodate my bust". I asked to be remeasured, and the original measurements were wrong. Luckily, when I picked up my dress, it fit perfectly. As stated - not a magical moment in the slightest, but I love my dress. read more

I had the best experience at this bridal shop! I had been to quite a few other dress shops and found no one that was willing to work with me to find exactly what I wanted. At Suburban Bridal, whenever I said I did not like something about a dress they immediately said "well, we can change that no problem!" They are going to create the exact dress I had in mind and because of this, I will have a one of a kind dress! Also, the dresses at Suburban Bridal were much more reasonably priced than any other bridal shops I visited. Same with the price for alterations. Plus, with the supply chain issues being what they are from the pandemic, Suburban Bridal ensured me that my dress would be here with plenty of time to spare. I hadn't heard that from any of the other bridal shops I visited! I was told numerous times that it would take 9+ months to get a dress in. Suburban Bridal ensured me that they have never missed had a dress not make it in time for a wedding, and I absolutely believe them. I would recommend Suburban Bridal to anyone! read more

I went with my sister to find her wedding dress, and I wasn't even the bride but I had the best experience! We were the only appointment, so we had the place to ourselves. Immediately, my sister found a couple of dresses to try on, and the owner picked another based on those, and my sister found her dress! Such a personal, loving experience, we all felt so happy and overjoyed to have been working with this shop. I wouldn't recommend any place else for your wedding dress needs! read more

Poor communication skills and horrible customer service! Owner is very rude! Very short time between purchasing a dress and wedding (7 months) so every dress that I liked I asked to make sure we could get it in time (and of course they say yes) Did not communicate properly to me when my dress would be available to pick up so we went to go try on bridesmaids dresses (p.s. no plus size sample bridesmaids dresses NONE) and I asked when my dress would be ready for pick up, the owner states August (wedding Sept 15, and I was going to need a lot of alterations) I asked beginning of August? The owner said "I don't know" so I left worried that I was not going to get my dress on time. I went elsewhere and ordered a different one. Tried to cancel my order but nope! Be careful they will tell you what you want to hear, take your deposit and they don't really care about anything after that. read more

Suburban bridal is not a customer service oriented facility. The ability to ask questions to the staff was few and far between due to no one roaming around to help. The store offers pretty dresses but the sizes are limited and they are not willing to order additional sizing on some brands. read more

I had a wonderful experience buying my wedding dress with my family! For starters, they got me in on very short notice on a weekend and the customer service was top notch throughout the day. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, introduced to our consultant, Lindsay, and taken back to view the wedding dress selection. They had a multitude of sizes, in a variety of prices, as well. It was fun to have my mom, grandma and wedding party pick a few dresses they thought I would look good in! Lindsay was very helpful with questions we had and set up a room for me to try on dresses. I was the only bride in the salon at the time, so that may have helped, but each dress I tried on seemed to garner attention from my family and the staff alike. Each staff member we interacted with was kind and helpful, offering jewelry or veil additions and answering additional questions. I would highly recommend Suburban Bridal for a fun, stress free dress shopping experience!! read more

I was warned before I shopped at Suburban Bridal that their customer service was far from sub-par. I decided to buy my veil there 5 months in advance of my wedding because they had the item I wanted. When I purchased the veil, the canned response from the girl at the register was "Your veil will arrive in 6 months." I stopped her there and emphasized this is a VEIL not a dress, and I need it for my hair trial in 4 months. She was put off, then countered with a "we'll have to check, I think we can special order it." Then I received a call 2 weeks before my deadline that it would ship this week. Three days before my deadline, I called to ask if the veil had arrived and I got the manager who told me these words: "I think it's here, there's a box in the back and I'm pretty sure it's the veil box, but I won't have time to go through it today. You can pick it up Monday." I told her I work late Monday and my deadline is Tuesday, if it has arrived and it's in a box, can't I come later today to pick it up? She responded, "I don't know if I"ll have time to go through the box today, but IF I HAVE TIME I will." Can you imagine being told this? I explained I have a very busy schedule, I need to know when I can get the veil and she answered with some strain in her voice that she would call me after she's had a chance to go through the box. ABSOLUTELY NO PROFESSIONALISM OR CUSTOMER SERVICE I urge all brides to stay clear of this place. My veil was in a box in the back and I was told I'd have to wait for the manager to "get around to it" and not to come pick it up right now. This is supposed to be a BRIDAL SALON; so efficient time management and getting the product in the hand of the bride should be first priority. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE BUSINESS! If someone is prepared to spend $1,000-$2,000 in you're store, you need to make them feel like sparkling snowflake angel diamond dust. Im really disappointed in the service. :( I read the reviews, but I am an extremely empathetic person and thought I could maybe see through the complaints. No- the complaints are very accurate. I went in over a lunch break on a weekday, there were only a few other customers in the store and I was treated like poo. I even called ahead to make sure someone could help me shop and they were not too busy. My wedding is this summer and I felt blamed for shopping so late. I wear a size 10-12, which is what most sample sizes are geared to fit. The assistant didnt even make suggestions or help me with pulling down the skirt or the buttons. read more

The staff here was polite, but not as warm and friendly as other bridal places I've been. I agree with some of the other posters that there isn't a lot of guidance. I was told to pick out dresses that I liked, so I just pulled styles that I liked, and I assumed that the attendant would go get that style in my size. But the dresses that you pick are the exact dresses that you try on! I had to put all my dresses back and then I could only try on ones that were in my size or bigger. This means that I couldn't try on some of the dresses that I wanted to. Seems like a weird way to run a bridal shop - I'm not going to order a dress if I can't try it on first. read more

If you are looking for a large selection of high quality one of a kind bridal or prom dresses... don't waste your time going anywhere else but here. Not only did they have a wide range of styles, but they were custom designed by the owner giving you a one of a kind gown for your special day. The staff is incredibly supportive and patient no matter how high maintenance you are (not pertaining to myself;) They were very reasonable for the quality they offered. Would not recommend shopping here. Selection of dresses is fairly limited and they do not stock multiple sizes. Some dresses are only available in very small sizes - they say they can order any size but if you can't even fit into the dress there is no way to try it on and see if it's what you want. Before going to Suburban, I visited one store where I felt like I was just a number in a heard and the dresses were going to be worn by most other brides in the country. I wanted something different. I am also not twenty-something and have actual curves. Let's just say I felt very discouraged after trying on dresses. Another store stopped me at the door and asked my price range as soon as I walked in. It felt like a "Pretty Woman" moment. Suburban Bridal had a beautiful showroom and I was very happy with the selection. They took the time to show me options that best fit my shape. In fact, I went from feeling insecure about myself to actually getting excited to show off my curves! Who knew that the right dress with the right fit could do so much? They did. I ordered my dress and can't wait to show it off to my future husband! Thank you so, so much!!! read more

I would not recommend this place to any bride. When we arrived we were helped by Mary Lou who helped pull dresses for me to try on and that part of it was good and I found a dress quickly that I liked but I never got to try it in my size and had to order the dress based on the sizing chart. After ordering the dress they told me it would take 6 months for the dress to arrive at the store. The dress I chose I wanted to make into a sweetheart design and Mary Lou assured me she could do it easily and that she had been designing dresses for years. 6 months later I called to see if my dress was in yet and they said no. A couple weeks later I went into the store to pick up one of my bridesmaid dresses for an out of town bridesmaid and even gave my name to the desk lady and that I was the bride picking up the dress. Another couple of weeks went by and I got worried there wouldn't be time to alter my dress so I called and they told me my dress had been there for a month and that they should of called me but somehow I got missed on the call list and they never once apologized. So it was there when I went in to pick up my bridesmaid dress and they never mentioned it then either. I then made an appointment to try the dress on and start the alteration process. I went in days before my alteration appointment because I was worried my dress wouldn't fit and I was only a few months away from my wedding and when I tried the dress on it was snug in the hips and would need some taking in on the waist. At my alteration appointment I had a random seamstress and not Mary Lou which I went along with. I went in 3 times for adjustments when we started hitting problems. We were weeks away from the wedding and she never let it out in the hips like she was supposed to, she hadn't started the bustle, hadn't sewed in the bra cups, it still needed taken in on the waist, and she hadnt even started the beadwork on the sweetheart design. And had made comments about how I should of been in sooner to start altering the dress.. Well I would have if I had known my dress was there.... She said she couldn't get me the dress until a Thursday before the Saturday wedding and the wedding was 3.5 hours away from my wedding location. Also, I worked on the days that she would be available in store to try on the dress for the last time so I wouldn't get to see or try on the final product until my wedding day. She lives an hour away from Omaha and I even offered to drive to her house to get my dress before I headed home for the wedding. A week before the wedding I got nervous and called back to see if I could get it Monday the week of my wedding and come to find out my seamstress wouldn't be finishing my dress because she was in the hospital. I panicked and made phone calls to find another seamstress that could finish my dress to take home Monday and when my to be mother in law went to pick up my dress to take it to a different seamstress Mary Lou herself stated she would finish my dress (bustle, sweetheart bead work, and sew in the cups) and have it ready Monday free of charge and that she would knock any charges off our bill (it was only $9.00). So Monday my mother in law picked up my dress and asked if the cups got sewn in and they said yes. And then charged her another $80 because a different seamstress did the work instead of Mary Lou. My mother in law paid it and brought my dress to me at the wedding location Tuesday and I tried on the dress come to find out no they did not sew the cups in and didn't even give them to us and the beadwork on the seamstress wasn't even on both sides so you could see the underlying fabric on one side. I called that day because one bridesmaid was still picking her dress up so she could give us the cups and I ended up telling them I was angry because they didn't do their job and they hung up on me without apologizing. My mother in law ended up sewing in the cups. Every time I went into the store they had to ask are you a bride and what's your name? Instead of the welcome back I got from other wedding vendors who work with tons of brides on a day to day business too. I was there at least every 1-2 weeks for 2 months picking up bridesmaid dresses and trying mine on.. I felt very unwelcome and nervous what the bad news would be each time going in. read more

This was my NINTH stop for wedding dress shopping. i was truly exhausted at this point. I had tried on over 40 dresses at various stores. the second i walked in i felt wanted and important. I am a high maintenance, classy, chic woman who wants things to go how i would like. I like to get treated like royalty, especially for things like this! And that is exactly how i felt. They brought dresses out to me, based on the sizes and style i wanted. This was the first place that did that. Everywhere else i went they didn't even have an associate to help zip me into dresses (what. The. Heck!!??) They brought all my size dresses, and all styles i said i wanted. I had gone to David's bridal before coming here. The girls here pulled everything I asked for, were very laid back and so helpful and a joy to have help me find my dress. I said bride on a budget and so unlike David's bridal, they didn't pull anything over 300.00 and they were all so beautiful. Being the pregnant and spacey person that I am I had it set up to pick up my dress Monday, well we are supposed to be leaving Monday at 7 am for the wedding in Colorado! I just called them 5 minutes to close in a panic realizing my mistake and Mary Lou very kindly and patiently handled it! She contacted the alteration lady for me and let her know and called me back letting me know it will be ready! Absolute life saver!! If I could give no stars I would. Thankfully I never had the full experience of working with Suburban Bridal. I could tell by the short ignorant conversation I had with them that they were not customer service oriented and I would not be dealing with them for one more minute. I explained to the owner that I lived here in Omaha, but was having a destination wedding in California. I was hoping to have a dress with some custom details and I knew that it was a brand that was available at this store as I had seen it on their web site. Upon further discussion about this, she proceeds to ask me why I don't just get my dress in California? Uh, what? Why would I do that? It was clear to me that she was not interested in helping in the least and as such I was happy to take my business elsewhere. *As a note I highly suggest Roxi's Elegant Bridal in Norfolk. If I could rate this business any worse I would. AWFUL! The consultants name was Lisa. If you are booked with her change your booking! I went to several different bridal salons and this was by far the worst experience I had. I should have known better than to book an appt at Suburban especially after my best friend and one of my sisters didn't have very good experiences there...even one of my coworkers said she wished she would have warned me about them. It really put a damper on my day. The day a girl picks out her wedding dress is supposed to be one of the MOST special and important days of her life. Suburban bridal ruined that for me. Not only was she rude to me (the bride) and my mother, but also to my sisters. Even if I would have found the absolute dress of my dreams I would never have purchased it from them. I would have scoured the United States or settled for another dress before I purchased it from Suburban Bridals. I want to start off by saying I don't often review businesses. However, my experience today at Suburban Bridal was amazing, and I really wanted to give Mary Lou and Madeline a shout out for helping me find my dream dress. When I walked in, I was hesitant as there weren't many dresses on display. However, I quickly figured out why. Madeline asked me what I was looking for and what my budget was. She pulled a bunch of dresses, and 100% listened to what I said. She was extremely conscientious of my budget and knew exactly what styles I was looking for. I ended up picking the second dress I put on. Both women were extremely personable, helpful, made sure I got EXACTLY what I wanted, and truly genuine. They seemed to truly care about me. After I picked my dress, they both looked me in the eyes and let me know how much it meant to them that I got my dress there. That type of customer service is something I really value. It's priceless. Both women were also amazing with my family and were very knowledgeable. Mary Lou even designed my dress herself, which was so cool. You could see how much passion she has for her job. I truly want to thank the women at Suburban Bridal for all their help and would recommend them to anyone! read more

Dress purchase was a good experience but highly recommend you get the dress altered anywhere else but at Suburban Bridal. My daughters dress fell apart the morning of her wedding. Zipper was "new" yet teeth totally came apart. Had to safety pin her dress together for pictures and the wedding then the nightmare continued. Had to manually sew the back together for the reception. Also was repeatedly told a wrist strap on her train was not necessary because "my bustles don't break'" well Veda's bustles don't work either. Was a nightmare of an experience regarding the dress. I took my daughter here to look at prom dresses, I must say I was immediately put off by the smell, I then realized this was the location Superior pool occupied for several years and that chlorine and other chemicals permeated the store. We we greeted at the door "If you take off your shoes we can help you" odd as all employees and several other guests wore shoes, there was no inclement weather and or shoes were not dirty. We were herded to a room with racks of dresses in plastic, (I would guess so they don't take on the chemical smell) all with plenty of tulle and fake jewels. My daughter wanted something simple and when we walked to the other side of the room to look at the less "blinged out" dresses we were immediately stopped and told "we can't get any of these dresses in time for prom" , we hadn't even selected anything. I felt unwelcome, no warmth, no customer service skills at all. We immediately drove to David's Bridal, Amazing Service, Employees who truly wanted to help a tired mother and a 16 yr. old who wanted a simple dress. My sister was in from out of town and we didn't have an appointment but she finished with another bridal store earlier than anticipated so I called and she thanked me for calling ahead and said "Come right in we would love to help." So we changed plans and met Mary Lou who was wonderful she made suggestions and also let us pull off the displays. She grabbed belts pinned if it needed it etc. The store should have been closed but they stayed open and we said "Yes to the Dress." Thanks so much for finding not just a dress but a great hair piece as well. She even lent my little sis a pair of heels to make sure the length would be just right. I would give less than 1 star if that was possible. We didn't have problems until it got closer to my wedding. I happened to pop in and the dressed had been in for over a week and I hadn't received a call yet. When the girls went in to try the dresses on they were all huge!! One of my bridesmaids was even told when being measured that her dress would be snug. her dress was a whole size to big and to me that is not a snug fit. then with the alterations to the dresses because every one of my girls had to get them, they were expensive and they didn't even finish the job! They didn't sew the breast part of the dress right and it looked funny on the day of the wedding. we had to use fashion tape to keep it laying down properly. I spoke with the owner about the dresses and how the measuring was so off and they were not accommodating at all. this was the worst experience for my girls. Speaking from a brides point of view I wanted them to have to spend as little as possible and it ended up being way more than ever expected because of miss measurements and alterations. DO NOT COME HERE! They are rude and no one is on the same page. I was told different reasons for why the dresses were as big as they were. read more
